Private Investigations

Morning,all.

Not the most pleasant day on the site yesterday. The real pity of it all is that it detracted from a superb article by MAHE. If anyone was so distracted by the posts that followed it that they didn’t actually read the article, you could really do yourself a favour and read it now. You can thank me later!

The big talking points at the moment in Celticland are both having a negative effect on the club and the support. There’s the continuing mess over the sex abuse scandal at Celtic Boys Club, not only with the fact of the matter but with how Celtic are dealing with it. I’m unclear on how much the matter can be discussed on here as I’m pretty certain that much of it is still subject to sub judice reporting restrictions, but it seems that Celtic Plc has their own internal investigation going on.

I can certainly voice my opinions about the latter. The club as it currently stands has no connection to the scandal which occurred. It did not involve anyone currently connected to Celtic, there is little doubt about that. As such, the investigation is likely to be centred on who-back then-knew what, and when they knew about it. To what extent were any of the main characters involved with Celtic or with Celtic office bearers, and what level of proof of criminality was known but ignored.

I trust that the investigation will be thorough and that it will be honest. Celtic cannot use this as a means to whitewash the Augean Stables, they have to use it to thoroughly cleanse them. Without attempting to prejudge the findings of the investigation,Celtic have to take this opportunity to do the right thing and more importantly to be seen to do it. Get things out in the open and deal with them conclusively.

For once,I actually have full faith in our board here. They will know where their best interests lie,and will act accordingly. But I’ve been wrong before.

The other main topic of concern at the moment is the continuing leaking of information from the club. Now,I’ll be honest-leaking the teamsheet never bothered me too much. Most of us could have taken a stab at most of the line-ups in the games, with the exception of the games at Ibrox. If anything,it gave us a better chance picking the correct first goalscorer at the bookies!

Not that it helped me much, mind…

The apparent leaking of summer signing plans is a much bigger concern though. Firstly, this was a heavily restricted document, and only a handful of people would have been privy to the details. And all of them hold important roles at the club. Would any of them be stupid enough to have leaked it like this? I doubt it,at least not deliberately. So someone was obviously careless with their copy and needs a good boot in the baws and a bit of training on document security.

Don’t bin it,shred it. Or at least rip it up.

Of course, the leak itself raised another question. As it concerned our likely business in the summer window,I reckon most of us went-“Is that it? Aw,ffs!” And if it is,we might not be celebrating Nine In A Row next season.

For starters,it looks like PC Lustig will not be offered a contract extension, which means that we will have one right back next season-and Anthony Ralston has not been inspiring thus far, even when fit. He has only a handful of first team appearances and is nowhere near ready to be first choice. At left back,it’s Kieran or,erm, that’s it,hope Jonny Hayes stays fit. And we had better hope that Kris and Jozo stay fit too, because the alternatives don’t bear thinking about.

In the middle, how long can we rely on the old warhorse,Broonie? Well,it looks like we will have to. A decent offer for Ntcham and he’s out the door. I’m willing to bet the board will consider offers for Callum and Ryan too. Not to mention the current multiple Player of the Year award winner,James Forrest. We’ve got millions of wingers after all,so might as well cash in. Shved will be adequate cover. Bloody hell, probably Eddy anaw if they think they can get away with it.

The more I think about it,the more I look at that list, the more I see asset stripping rather than rebuilding. We got away with it last year and the year before, but for how much longer?

Stevie Clarke must be wondering if he should have stayed on at Rugby Park for one more season. He might have won the bloody league for them.

“It is not always easy being a Celtic supporter, but it is always worthwhile.” A catchy little soundbite from Fergus, and one which I’ve always largely agreed with. That list is pushing the boundaries.

Good morning Mahe, BMCUWP & all at Sentinels, let’s hope it’s a nonsense free blog today 🙂

” Celtic first & Celtic last & Celtic overall “

Monti

Talking of lists, i would love to see Chris Graham’s list of raaanjurs haters.
I better be on that list 🙂

MONTI 730

Fingers crossed,mate.

As for the Chris Graham list, everyone is on it. He is paranoid to the extreme. Kinda reminds me of someone.

Monti

Lol

morning everybody, good article bobby, cant comment on the document have not seen it, what was it about,hh,

twentyfirstofmaynineteenseventynine

Morning everyone frpm an extremely bleak and un-June like East Kilbride. Having not had time to trawl back it would appear I didnt miss anything yesterday. I also must be one of the few Celtic supporters who hasnt seen this bloody list, cant say Im not on the ball ! Personally I dont think Ive tried too hard as it doesnt sound like it makes for good reading. If someone would have told me ten years ago that in a decades time you’ll all be depressed and at each others throats after winning a THIRD successive treble Id have laughed in their face. Yet somehow, God knows how, our custodians have got us doing just that.Never know, maybe theyve pulled a masterstroke to put everyone off the scent of the real signings we’re going to make. Aye right

“If someone would have told me ten years ago that in a decades time you’ll all be depressed and at each others throats after winning a THIRD successive treble”

I get your point, they really know how to piss on our chips!

Btw,a decade ago,we had just thrown away the league after the Willo Flood window. Having been seven points ahead at New Year. You’ve got to hand it to them, they’re consistent.

Monti

Big Packy,

Bobby Murdochs Curled Up Winklepickers

Absolutely theyre consistent, if that list is the real deal I totally understand all the angst

HH

Morning Timland, good stuff BobbyM, asset stripping was my first thoughts when I saw the list.
As for the abuse stuff, I don’t think it;s sub judicay as they have already plead guilty, not that I want to talk about it, will Celtic do the right thing, who knows, I have seen suggestions it’s the reason they are hoarding money.
HH
Welcome to anyone I have missed 😉

THEEXILEDTIM

I’ve seen those suggestions too,but I’m fairly certain we can discount them.

As I understand the situation,Celtic have no full legal responsibility on this, due to Celtic Boys Club being a separate entity as the saying goes. Our situation is likely to be a moral responsibility, although this could be compounded by negligence. The latter part being dependent on how Torbett was allowed readmittance to the inner circle in the mid-80s and our original internal investigation from around the same time.

I’m fairly certain that if there were legal avenues available to sue Celtic FC,they would already have been fully explored and exploited.

BobbyM
I agree, I had just seen the suggestion, not that I agreed with it, I also concur that had we been legally responsible action would already have taken place against us as is their desire to harm us.
It’s all very sad, thing is the club are really not helping themselves in any of the matters on the agenda, they are acting like complete armatures.
HH

Monti

Sentinels,
For those interested, Ralph has a good thread up on ETIMS DIARY, Today.
He obviously run out of lager last night. 🙂

Margaret McGill

If that list is real and isn’t a PL ploy of some description then my fellow Tims the game is s bogey and time for action. It’s time to rally around Auldheid. Everybody,

fan-a-tic

BMCUWP
Good article Bobby and the reality of our present circumstances is depressing..
Asset stripping would be a fitting description of this boards behavior.
The sole ambition is maximizing their investment for personal gain.
Back to the future.

The Lions Roar

Ah, you’re back.

Would you like to explain this for me and tell me who these ‘people’ that you’ve claimed I’ve ‘driven off the blog’ are?

I’ve asked you five or six times now and you haven’t even had the decency to answer the question.

So name them, Mick.

Or be considered a liar.

‘‘BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS
THELIONSROAR

If you are going to name and shame,do so. Don’t hide behind adjectives and pejorative adjectives.

You’ve managed to drive off a few people from the site so far,but that’s fine. If they can’t argue their case, cool.

Please don’t use this site to make accusations against people which have already been dismissed elsewhere.’

I would also like you to reiterate your final point about making ‘accusations against people which have already been dismissed elsewhere.’

Name those you claim I’ve ‘driven off the blog’ and explain your last line.

Then we can consider clearing this matter up.

You think you have enough decency in you to manage that?

The Lions Roar

‘You’ve managed to drive off a few people from the site so far,but that’s fine.’

‘Making accusations against people which have already been dismissed.’

Explain yourself.

For bearing false witness is a very serious matter, Mick, and since you decided to attempt to dodge it yesterday you now have to face it today.

Also, please explain why you ordered me to never mention the Celtic Plc Operating Expenses on here again.

The Lions Roar

‘The club as it currently stands has no connection to the scandal which occurred.‘

Are you SURE about that, Mick?

You know this how?

If that is truly the case then why has the Plc board been conducting its own super secret investigation into these matters, all which may well now be sub judice, and why didn’t they let us know before, say, when the investigation is alleged to have begun two years ago?

Rebus67

On a brighter note, Liam Henderson’s career seems to be taking off. Recall we foolishly let him go and he signed for a declining giant, Bari in Serie B in Italy. He did well there in a team that was suffering financial headaches. The Bari coach was an admirer of Liam and took him with him when he moved to Verona Hellas, also in Serie B. This year they won their playoff game and are bound for Serie A. Chances are they will be candidates for relegation but that may be an opportunity for Celtic to get Liam back.

I always saw Liam as the successor to Brown…….great engine, good tackler, and an eye for a pass. He was never given a chance of a run of games at Celtic. Plus he was played in different positions from his natural central mid. When he was loaned out to Rosenberg he excelled. The arrival of BR was the end of the line for him at our club. Interesting to contrast Liam’s path with that of Christie who was developed through loans!

Which is worse…….Bringing in a signing like Kouassi who does not make it, or letting a homegrown player leave the club for success elsewhere?

I doubt that we shall get him back but, to me, he was a better prospect than McGinn, who we have also lost. Imagine a midfield group of Henderson(L), Christie, CalMac, and The young Hendo…..all home grown, all Celtic men!

Cheers,

Rebus

VADER

Good afternoon all. A flying visit to satisfy my curiosity about this place…
I’ll just sit here and watch in plain view

Rebus67

Lions Roar,

Could you move on, please? You go round and round on the same issue.

I have stopped reading your stuff properly and just skim it to see if you are making fresh points.

It is friendly advice,

Rebus

The Lions Roar

No, Rebus, I won’t.

Not until BMCUWP either names those he claims I’ve ‘driven off the blog’ or apologises for bearing false witness against me.

And, given the cowardice he displayed yesterday, it looks like maybe the Celtic Boys Club stuff won’t be the only matter in Celtic land under sub judice.

The Lions Roar

And, InVader, you can take yer toy town suit off and go and play with the Armalite yer queen gave ye to shoot the Irish with.

Remember not to point it at your face now, stoopid.

The Lions Roar

So, will the bould BMCUWP, licker of grown men’s shoes, find the gumption to apologise to the reader whom he has lied about, insulted and attempted to hoodwink on the blog?

Or he will run away to go shopping with his missus while hiding under her skirts like he did yesterday, not having the balls to back up his words with proofs?

I know which one I’m betting on.

mahe

Bmcuwp,,,
Can ” that ” list be added to ” his ” list of failures?
Worst thing is I actually think he’s a good accountant.
Are unanswered Emails and letters fitting for someone representing us?
TeT had a registered letter ignored,,how is that professional.
I have mentioned before that Peter may well in his heart be convinced he is doing the right thing for the club,,but we don’t know because there’s no communication .
Oh for three answers,,,
What’s the plan
How will you reinvest profits
How much profit goes to charity

Anyway,,,into the 30s here today. Get your stuff done early in the summer is the rule.
Oh, feckin good old Belfast last night,,,,popular bar gets clogged sink in kitchen so Polish dishwasher throws a bit of every chemical he can find in to unclog it.
The eejit made toxic fumes by mixing them and sent the punters rushing to emetgency unit couldn’t breathe ffs.
So as an apology all pints 3 quid today!!!

Hail Hail

The Lions Roar

Come on, trumpet heid.

If what you say is true it shouldn’t be too difficult to pit the list of names up on the blog so that I can apologise to them, for ‘driving them off the blog’.

Btw, for those of you who are fed up with me going over this, how would you like it if you were likewise falsely accused by the moderator of the blog, or anyone else for that matter?

Would you just ‘Let it go’, ‘Move along’, ‘No need to rake over old coals’ etc ..?

Or would you demand an apology for being lied against?

mahe

Not always easy being a Sentinel either but when we have a say in how our club turns out it will be worth it.
Hail Hail

The Lions Roar

Oh, hello, mahe, I see you’re trying the old ‘Ignore him and he’ll go away’ trick as performed by your parent blog and your other sister blogs which are likewise lying to, and about, the Celtic support.

Tell you what, why don’t you go and lie down in yer 30 degree sun and take a little nap, or you could help Monti out of his Celtic overalls so he can join ye?

Before you do though, you’d best call your partner in shite and tell him there’s someone here wants to speak to him, that It’s urgent and might have disastrous consequences for the credibility of the blog.

Ta.

Now you can go back to sleep.

Rebus67

In my experience when water circles around a plug hole, it generally disappears down it!

Could be wrong, tho’

Rebus

Rebus67

Mags,

I get your argument but not your conclusion.

Why rally around Auldheid, worth chap that he is? The issue seems bigger than Res12…….it is good governance in toto.

Rebus

The Lions Roar

You don’t have a say, mahe.

You never have had and never will have a say because the Masons run the world of football and all the clubs in it and folk like you are simply grist to their mill.

The guy whose blog partner stupidly bears false witness against one of the blogs own posters, lies in public, fails to defend his words with proofs, attempts to entrap said poster with promises of ‘secret discussions’ about the Celtic Plc’s outrageous finances and who then withdraws these clandestine talks because said poster is busy all summer with an ORDER to said poster to NEVER MENTION THE FINANCES ON THIS BLOG AGAIN …

This from the guys who run a blog, who claim to be ‘Calling It Straight’ while talking about nothing but the weather, bloggers who DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW TO COPY & PASTE, neither photos nor links on their own blog yet who, incredibly, claim that they want to instigate change, if not outright revolt, at Celtic Park while at the same time basking under the Californian sun …

You guys are dumber than a box of rocks.

Yer blog’s nothing but a joke shop like all the rest that are bought and paid for by the PLC with the FC’s money.

The Lions Roar

Here, Monti, this one’s for you.

https://youtu.be/7XH8PKK5wuU

Not for ‘driving you off the blog’ (sic) but as a reminder that I never did tell the ETims readers your little secret.

You can share it with Weered.

He knows already but see how he reacts.

If he ever lets you see him.

Hehehe

TLR,
Be rest assured this blog is untainted. Mags done the technical side of things. She done a good job. Nobody watches this blog more than me. Don’t you just love OSI transport layer plug-ins and their ability to harvest data.

The blog got bored with me going on about the Ibrox safety certificate. I realised that I was continually diverting the posters from the worked on daily topics so I resisted from doing so out of politeness
This blogs harmony has not been polluted by you. You have been on if for months and everything was fine… No the trolling and personal attacks were not started by you until recently when you rightly took umbrage… Since then your content has been crap. If you don’t get your satisfaction then why ruin it for everybody. You are raging at a man who is in bed after a night shift. Wait until he wakes up at least
The trolls need identified and dealt with unfortunately Mahe and BMCUWP are not very good at

Good article Boab, keep them coming.

Re the investigation PL referred to in his statement – which, Incidentally, I believe he was forced into making due to the near hysteria now in the media over this issue! Their hysteria, of course, being mainly fuelled by the damage they hope this is going to do to Celtic FC rather than any real concern for the victims here. Now my thinking here is the press saturation and the helpful quotes from Mr Maguire, lawyer representing some of the victims, is to ensure that if this issue of Celtic FC having any culpability ever does get to court there will not be a person involved who has not read all the articles and formed an opinion. Does not bode well for a fair and impartial hearing imo! Whatever your take on this I’m sure you would agree that Celtic are entitled to that! What many people seem to be missing out on here is that it is not Celtic FC or plc who would be paying out, in the almost certain event of such a ruling, but their insurers! Celtic have indemnity insurance which I would imagine is for a very hefty figure. I was a Project Manager for many years in the advice sector, who are all registered charities, and we were compelled by law to have Indemnity insurance. Some of these projects were quite small but the indemnity insurance was usually £1-2m so I can only assume Celtic’s is stratospheric in comparison. So any hopes these idiots have of NL’s transfer budget being cut or whatever is just nonsense! Now the statement PL made was that is Celtic’s insurers who have commissioned the investigation. Totally understandable given the hit they are about to take if compensation becomes payable. I would imagine that it will be thorough, we all know insurance companies do better investigations than the CIA when it comes to paying out on claims! This was kept secret from the ambulance-chasing lawyers and media for obvious reasons! If an insurance company is going to be paying out they want to make sure
a) the claim is genuine and proved in law
b) that they are paying out to genuine victims and not to any charlatans
As mentioned here already if Patrick Maguire had a case that he knew he could win he would have been in court by now! He is on a ‘no-win, no-fee’ deal here so he wouldn’t be wasting time (that he might not get paid for) he was waiting, obviously, on all the abusers cases being heard and adjudicated on – which of course is the correct form of action. I think he had hopes, however, of Celtic -fearing the PR catastrophe which is unfolding- would cave and start a compensation scheme along the lines of Man City. MC case is different though they are paying out to avoid the PR disaster of court cases. Now we all know that no matter what Celtic do here it will never be considered enough nor will it shut up the baying hordes who think it acceptable to weaponise paedophilia to score points. If anyone thinks this is not linked to our domestic dominance and ongoing title quests they really haven’t been paying attention. For some this is all it is about! They care not one jot about the poor boys who suffered here. Now before anyone jumps in and says neither do Celtic I would like to say I don’t believe that. I believe Celtic are horrified and appalled at what has gone on in the past and if the investigation finds they have culpability I believe they will do all they can for victims. However, it is not just their call they are a plc – they can’t just let proper legal procedures be abandoned for ‘moral responsibility’ reasons and, more to the point, their insurers would not pay out on that basis. So before we all jump on the Celtic bashing bandwagon in full swing in this best wee country (conveniently ignoring any and all allegations of abuse elsewhere) remember PL & co are trying to protect our club. They know the hostile environment in which we exist – we have few friends outside our own walls and we have many powerful enemies who would love to see our club fold- they are circling the wagons for what is now a full-on assault on Celtic FC and we should not condemn them for it. Unless you think we should go bust over this but I guess that’s up to you.
This is not meant as an endorsement of PL and board on other issues btw I’m mighty pissed at them on alleged austerity measures etc but on this one issue I believe we have to be realistic and see the very real threat we face and see their actions for what they are.

Auldheid

When that mob play the morality card is that from a pack where aces are high and deuces are low or is morality an absolute?

Something either is or isnt moral. Are we into a :”we are more moral than you contest?”

Did they and smsm not admit tax dodging was immoral but yet they still want to keep the benefits?

It is the sheer hypocrisy that takes the breath away. I remember in 2012 Keevins on SSB stating there was a moral dimension but nothing could be said that might be prejudicial. Well the Supreme Court ruled, but where is the morality in keeping trophies won by unlawful tax dodging? Where is their readiness to revisit LNS that the Supreme Court removed the justification for his decisions?

To be clear the damage done to child abuse victims is akin to spiritual murder, so appropriate sanctions and justice must apply, but is sauce for one moral goose not sauce for another moral gander?

There is no equivalence in terms of the damage done to victims by child abuse but that should not be used to deflect from the damage done to the spirit of Scottish football by folk whose definition of morality is if the rules dont cover it then it’s ok.

Ironically Celtic are in a unique position to address the moral consequences of both issues by doing the right thing, which is facing up to the truth on both issues and in doing so wipe the high moral ground our enemies (and that is an appropriate description) are attempting to occupy in order to undermine Celtic’s good name.

So moral are they that they only signed a Five Way that safeguarded their immoraly won titles and apparently removed any Judicial powers to investigate to CAS.

The apparently bit is being put to SFA by Res12 lawyers to confirm but the implications are so significant a reply is unlikely.
