I forgot to mention it last week but this is the week we lose the battle.
Traditionally the media ramp up the pressure on their preferred losers and hype up their preferred winner as much as possible the week before hostilities commence.
Its an old trick that exposes the ingrained bias that is at the core of their spiralling downwards sale’s numbers.
And true to form they have pulled out Tom Dick and Harry to verify that Celtic are indeed , once and for all officially swear to God mister, in trouble this time !

Its the battle I want to lose and look forward to losing , this phoney pre war pr game.
I only want to lose it as when the media are exposed as full of it end of season they should lose more customers thus helping end the age of the spineless hack.
I look forward to losing it as that to me just shows that the media that write this crap know nothing or are well aware is all baloney.
Those fans that do fall for it,, well there’s an old saying that has been passed down to deal with people who fall for the same trick but dont ask George Bush to recite it.
Fool me once etc does seem very apt when one looks at the annual hype up the blues week that is the 7 days pre opening Spl fixtures.

We seen Phillipe Cocu himself telling us to beware as Stevie has built a quality side.
Its wise PR to call the side that just beat you good by the way.
Katic deemed us only as good as Derby and Blackburn whom they beat and drew with respectively which means hand the trophy over now basically.
If teams as good as us cant beat them then they will win is sound logic maybe to someone somewhere but in my humble brain youve gotta actually beat the champ not those supposed as good.
Expect more of these puff piece’s telling the bears they are ready and up for it and prepare for Stevie to not let that title slip by him this time or words to that effect.
Its milking their prime demographic to the max essentially,,their last major fan base that look and support the dying print media,,whipping them into a bit of a frenzy and making sure all will be hooked and buying that rag faithfully everyday for the next unmissable may or may not be true headline.

To the average fan across the City we are too used to this now for it to actually work on scaring us but I admit they seem to have tooled up a bit and look ready to go out and try hard. Some deadweight moved and 6 new faces to drool over until proven otherwise.
The Serie A defender at a decent 3.5 million is the pick of the bunch probably might well give our wannabe rivals strength in depth regarding their back four but just buying a player from somewhere flashy is no sure sign of anything just look at Tommy Graveson.
We are also told we turned down this player ourselves which reassures a bit.
Would make much more sense for a Swede to play for us but he has dug his grave and now must lie in it.
Their strikers are still there but one year older and neither fill me with dread and I believe the golden boot will have another up and down year if he stays. His back up will be more a classic poacher than ever being less mobile with another year.
Midfield see’s new players that must hit the ground running ,,and Kent their best player last year is off.
Ultimately they are shouting and banging their chest about nothing special at all footballing wise.
The are indulging in self hype,, which is the worst form of hype.

Our own team sit with many more players that have been there seen it and done it.
Todays away game is merely a formality after a professional home performance all but sealed our spot in the next ground which will bring a better quality of player in.
Of those new players we have brought in few are needed right here and now as they have cover and will come in only when the timing is optimal.
The right back is the glaring exception probably .
News that we still seek a midfielder is quizzing as one must think Scott , Ryan , Calmac are nailed on and a new middle of the park signing for good money must start surely?
But this could be the life without Scott being planned for .We have Kouassi , Ncham , Rogic , Henderson , Luca , Bitton all there or thereabouts in the middle of the park not getting a regular game.
Anyone we buy for that area must be serious quality or he’s not needed. Quality is always wanted.

Speaking of puff pieces the Heralds piece on young Mikey Johnson today is anything but and worth ten of the usual crap pieces the Smsm seem to pump out like clockwork.
The young man sounds genuinely delighted yet grounded in the surprisingly pleasant article that isn’t great reading for domestic opposition.
He’s raring to go essentially,,,will play out of his skin when he gets a chance , and if I was Sinky after reading this I would think about a move ( real reason its out there ? ).
With Shved also on the left plus Eddy liking drifting there is a crowded area to breakthrough and make a spot your own but young Mikey has the correct mentality.
Sitting him beside Nir in the dressing room is smart also,, an old head to take him under the wing.

Overall we are in better shape than anyone else in the land and dont be fooled by anyone telling you otherwise.
A couple of quality additions and this team is ready to roll for the season. Quality has been good soo far,,no reason to doubt thats gonna change.
Our bhoys will be rested and ready.
Ready to do all their talking out on the pitch where it really counts,,as usual.
