Not a spine among them
Yesterday would have been the day that Jabba dreaded in that a huge negative news story broke about the club under his wing forcing him to react to events he doesnt like and not be the one setting the agenda as usual.
And he would have pulled in every favour owed and used every bribe and dirty trick in the book to try and set the reporting slant back in Alba.
Judging by todays headlines , it worked.
The media are just simply shown up by the lack of fervour for the huge story .
They arent journalists and know it,,they nod the head and deliver what is required to get the cheque and pay the mortgage. They cant and wont turn on their last main demographic and that leaves them over a barrel morally when it comes to reporting the team in light blue.
They all know this and would probably privately admit it.
Events like yesterday are not easy for them as they are forced to compromise yet not show it to the public,,the semblance of serious news must remain at all costs.
The facade truly fell away with this episode.
One single mainstream production is running with the news as the main piece right now and thats the tax funded Auntie Beeb.
And their headline is straight to the point facts simply, no playing on words like others, just stating the case which I appreciate.
A good organisation would have then taken this further by bringing in an expert or two with the aim of exploring the issue in depth. They state the club and managers statements and walk away without exploration. Shame.
The others that might be considered main stream are falling fast in numbers and its not hard to see why. First of all the biggest story in Scottish sport possibly the nation on a slow news day is not the headline and then when it is mentioned the spin angle is just blatantly apparent.
For instance ( and dont expect any links just visit real sports sites and let them die ) here are just a few examples of how they are wording this long overdue slap on the wrist,,,
“ Steven Gerrard admits he wasnt prepared for scale of Rangers bigotry problem “
“ Steven Gerrard reveals the Rangers religion shock factor he didnt see coming “
“ Gerrard urges fans to help Rangers progress “
They are clearly singing off the same hymn sheet and its crystal clear they intend to hide behind Stevies skirt and hold him up as a figurehead of heading in the right track.
Throw the nice reasonable guy front and forward as an example and keep the warts and all out of sight . Seen it coming a mile away .
Well I’ll call it for what is it,,, Stevie G is sportswashing them.
Something Qatar has had accusations of and Man City have seen it thrown at them.
Now its happening north of the border. Does he even know ? His advisors would best act now if they have any smarts. He’s become a legitimate front for bigotry.
Then we have the ultimate deflection,,one a politician would be proud of.
One of these spin merchants has went and blanked the main issue completely and announces,,
“ Rangers inform supporters of Ibrox closures with two sections affected “
Anyone reading this wouldnt even know illegal chanting took place , until you have read further !
The headline ignores the main issue eh ? Because the main issue isnt moved fans here .
Jabba may as well own that piece of shit rag , as they are clearly well onboard with him.
Please dont buy the rags everyone ,, events such as these should only reinforce that notion.
Then onto “ NoCommentgate “ (copyright)
The governing bodies pulled a head in the sand , three monkeys trick.
I would say can you believe it but of course you can.
And these are the same governing bodies that we have been trying to make headway against if believed . If true its clear we didnt win that war although as the old saying goes you cant win em all . But they remain an obstacle , maybe the biggest obstacle maybe not , to reform in the national sport. And of course they will have no intentions of change.
The surprise news they got stung outta “ the blue “ is welcome but Im not convinced we should be hanging our hats on Uefa growing a spine.
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out anything Saint that comes across the horde will be abused in some way. The minnow St Joseph’s will have pointed out correctly to the foreign match delegate they are victims purely due to their name and perceived religious preference.
Something best left buried in history tbh.
But dont expect a soul with a conscience at their game’s especially once strings are pulled.
Then as pointed out by Jim the Tim the sneaky Huns must have known this was in the pipeline somehow and decided to try and get ahead of the game and possibly mitigate any further discipline by announcing the Open to All initiative merely days after these sectarian transgressions. Did they hear from headquarters an off message and unfriendly report had landed from an outlier they were not in control of ? Seems that way.
Hampden will bat away focus and every one with a stake in their dirty game will be praying theres not a mention of anything in the next few games reports as thats when whole stadiums get closed. Big pressure will come down to select the correct match delegate ,,, a decent chap only please will be the word. Dont think these next few will be left to chance somehow.
Keep an eye on who gets the nod and have they been there before ? If so it went well rest assured.
Snakes bellies couldnt get lower.
Soon we start getting our own house in order ,, then we go after the Sfa and the refs.
The bent bastards deserve everything they have coming .
Todays article is by Mahe. Fancy calling it straight and nailing them ? You write it and we will publish. Grab that keyboard and tell it how it is. sentinelcelts@gmail.com
The Telegraph has an interesting article where they have the nuts to speak up a bit about the malarkey , pointing out Hamza has a secret dossier compiled of such instances.
Also tells sfa to heed warning. Stronger than usual ?
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/08/23/uefa-judge-rangerss-chants-racist-close-stand-punishment-3000/
Meanwhile in the Times online the main sports section isn’t carrying the news at all and its found in the Scotland section only.
Surprise surprise Celtic get dragged into it in the third paragraph and again in the fourth to square it up at two mentions each in 4 paragraphs about them getting punished. Threw Hearts in at the end and all.
Wtf?
Couple weeks ago I emailed them ( the Times) and said I didn’t care for their political spin and want factual based news articles,,can they assure me they are not putting their own slant on things.
They reply we as a paper are neutral however our writers may put their own slant on things.
In other words oh the taxi is fine Sir but the driver might not be.

MAHE, brilliant and straight to the point, that bassa jabba will do anything to protect the sectarian scum, they just cant forget 1690 for some reason, its in their black hearts.hh.
TWISTY, forgive me have not got a clue about horse racing, have never bet on a horse in my life whats it all about.hh.
Ach just a bit of fun Packy ( though there will be a couple prizes on offer)
Simply pick any horse on a Saturday and post the name and the time it’s running on the previous thread. We will run until the Scottish cup final week
A mythical £1 is put on your selection.
So:
If you choose Packy’s boy in the 3pm at Newmarket and it wins at 5/1, you get £5 profit so you’re at +£5.
JNP tipped a 9/1 winner last week, so he’s at +£9
My selection lost so I’m at minus £1.
If my selection loses this week I’ll be at minus £2
The tipster who has made the most profit at the end wins the main prize.
No money changes hands. It’s all mythical stakes.
As I say – a wee bit fun
If you want to join – just put a selection on the previous thread. You’ll start on minus £1 because you’re starting late. Just to keep it fair. No big deal though as most of us are on minus £1.
Still no sign of Uber
Getting more worried about him by the day.
It’s just not like him to be off the forum for so long. Does anyone remember him saying if he was going away on holiday? Taking a break from posting?
Something doesn’t seem right. ?

I mailed UBER on Thursday,I think it was. His business sometimes keeps him away from things for a time though. I’ll text him around noon, see if he has time-and inclination!-for a chat.

Ah …. re Uber… hopefully that’s all it is. Business
If you do catch him ask him about my £3-18p please
Cheers

That really is excellent. I’ve seen a few of his videos, and they don’t miss!
He’s a brave lad, because the huns aren’t known for their sense of humour. The first one I saw, about two months ago,was a Vox Pop-style interview. It had me fooled-and in stitches!!!
TWISTSNTURNS
Hopefully the £3.46-I won’t be texting him until noon,remember-will focus his mind a tad. I’ll be sure to remind him.
Bobby
?
You’ve got it ??
Right I really need to get out for an hour. As if I’m not busy enough with horses and football selections, my wife has rather selfishly gone off with my daughter this weekend on some boat trip break.
I’m having to go and get my own food in . Absolutely ridiculous. Typical woman!! Selfish to the core.
I’ll tell you the type of woman:
She once said “ I think sex is much better on holiday”
It really upset me getting that postcard. ?
MAHE
Well put together and does not miss!
Judging by the on line replies the hordes won’t be happy until Celtic are punished.
Self reflection is not in their limited DNA.
I expect the tone deaf mssm will be listening intently while scanning the crowd at tomorrows game against Hearts for the slightest chance to be offended.
The SFA will be clinging desperately to the hope that they see or hear something/anything that they can even up the narrative and take pressure off their team.
Meanwhile if their bigoted Edinburgh cousins bring their usual bilious songbook it will remarkably go unheard.
It really is the best WEE country.
Twists and Turns
HA HA.
I was once in one of those love motels in the Poconos with the coin operated vibrating bed and champagne glass jacuzzi and when i looked up at the ceiling someone had written, My wife had her brains screwed out here and it’s a shame i wasn’t there!
Fan a tic

Spin management comes along often.
The CQN leader is in praise of Lennie’s game management against AIK.
I personally didn’t see much evidence of and wrote about my concern of us losing almost every 50/50 and second ball in second half.I blame poor positioning for this.
It’s no secret that i am not a fan of Neil;s coaching so thought perhaps i was being over critical.
Then in response to CQN;s leader this guy who is impressive posts this.
http://celticbynumberscom.ipage.com/edouard-adored/
You can see our possession stats are higher but like i often state probably due to our unwillingness to play anything but side and backwards safety passes from centre of midfield.
Also interesting that they had a higher packed pass rate which is a more positive type pass.

A very, very good article by Auldheid on Etims:
etims.net/?p=14519
Watching the Norwich v Chelsea game.
More of an old fashioned run and gun game.
Pukki scores his 5th league goal and looks impressive.
He is very adept at playing off the last mans shoulder.
Has been offside on occasion.
But this had me thinking that the cheating whistlers and flagmen in Scotland had an impact on his effectiveness.
Benefit to the attacker never applies to Celtic players.
Wonder what his offside stats where in his time with us?
Fan, What did you think of Pukki when he was with us? I liked him. Most of the criticism I remember was that he was not suited to the fast, aggressive style here. Do you think he could have adapted? Or was moving away the best thing? he certainly had skill.
jimthetim53
Wrong place and wrong time.
Our style was more about width and cut backs.
Look at the lack of telling passes from central midfield in Lennon’s style of play.
He is adept attacking space ahead of him.
He also looks a fitter stronger player now.
But still would not be suited to us.
Only Ntcham plays the type of service he thrives on.
What a shame. 🙁
Fan, I keep going back to this. Do you remember after the winter break when Broonie was out injured. I think the mainstay of the midfield was Christie McGregor & Rogic. It was breathtaking. Certainly not in the style of BR.
I thought he would have learned from that. But his mind was elsewhere. He was gone soon after.

Auldheid does it again!

I repeated my mantra in the comments of dusting off the 70s/80s songbook. But as my comments aren’t allowed until RALPH sees them, they’ll be there the morra!

I’ve always been of the opinion that we should dust down the 70s/80s songbook and give it laldy. Make sure that strict liability is enforced as a result.
Points deductions, closure of stands or stadia.
Thing is,we can stop it on the same whim that we started it.
They can’t.
Start the war,let them mobilise. Let them shoot themselves in the foot.
FAN-A-TIC
CELTICBY NUMBERS is a very impressive piece of work. I’m amazed that the club haven’t utilised his ability.
I’m pissed off that he doesn’t post his thoughts on here, but bloody hell,it must take hours for that sort of analysis. Very impressive.
JIMTHETIM53
There is a balance problem in the centre mid area that neither BR or NL seemed to have noticed.
Reluctant to blame individual players but a more pragmatic approach to the reality of this needs to be taken by the coach.
Our best performance last season was when Ntcham and McGregor sat in tandem deep against StJohnstone when we won 6-0.
The real problem is to many individual components rather than a cohesive system and team.
On thursday both Brown and McGregor sat to close to defense who where to deep to begin with.
Then both made daft forward dashes to close opponents down leaving acres of space to exploit.
Our game intelligence is lacking
Bobby, problem is Lenny doesn’t do stats!
Fan, most of the teams we meet in Europe have a plan. Even if it’s parking a bus. They all seem drilled and know what their job is. Lenny’s plan? Goalie to kick it as hard as he can and we will get get a goal from somewhere. Problem is, it often works! 🙂 So all is well.
Maybe thats too simplistic. We do pass it from the back often. But we get hundreds of crosses and passes up to the goal scoring areas. But that is where we lack a plan. Or a poacher!
im a donkey am I ?
Nehhh!!!
JIMTHETIM53
Speed and simplicity. F..k the over elaboration. Look at the famous goal at Love St in 1986,the 5-0 game,as an example.
Look at The Lions.
No messing about, get it into the dangerous areas ASAP.
Having said that, the Liam Miller goal v Lyon was ATHINGOFBEAUTY and I was fed up telling them to spread it wide by the time the 27th pass came along!
Heyho…
BMCUWP
I really enjoy CBN’s work, as well. Admire the amount of time he must put in.
I would think that we could convince him to tear up his existing contract and sign one with SC. Tommy Dorsey style.
?
Who’s tommy Dorsey?
Packy, I’m away on a pub crawl to find my Uncle Peter. I owe him a row for misleading me about Vic Damone.
JIM, just nipped home to peel the potatoes for tonights tea, having corned beef hash with dollops of brown sauce on top, will catch u later.hh.
BIGPACKY
Naw,yer joost a good guy.
I had to laugh at your post last night-that’s my husband and then the woman takes her dog away.
I’d have done the same.
Sounds like your Joan is a bit of a babe, and frankly you don’t sound like much of a catch. No offence meant,of course.
But that customer clearly thought that she must be entrusting the grooming of her prized pooch to a woman with a white stick and a guide dog!!!!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, old son. I would say that you and Joan are fine with that.
From yer jealous b…..d pal
