Lamb Is On The Menu!

Today sees another excellent Guest Article, this time by ASWGL. He and McCAFF are really getting into their stride now!

Succulent side orders we have recently been offered for digesting by the fair minded reporting journos of the smsm…

Alfredo Morelos the new Harry Kane.
Hagi loanee now worth £100 million.
Borna Barisic has a left foot like Messi.
Ryan Kent better than Eden Hazard.
Steven Davis compared to Christiano Ronaldo.
Filip Helander is the new Virgil Van Dijk.
Nicola Katic compared to Luca Modric.
Joe Aribo is new Yaya Toure.
Glen Kamara is like Patrick Vieira.

You may think I’ve made these up, but no-they were offerings served up to us by our national daily rags.

Colour me surprised none of the Ibrox megastars mentioned above have, this year or last, won a Ballon D’or. But no, astonishingly none of them have-not even a league medal nor a cup. I’m even more surprised that any journo that believes this meal being spoon fed to them isn’t wearing a straitjacket.

It’s not rocket science to figure out which PR Guru pushed this list of balanced and accurate, well presented facts, to the smsm from Castle Greyskull. (Remember her ? the weathergirl.. Kirsty McCabe from Reporting Scotland ?).

She advised Rangers fans ‘live on air’ that were heading to their game to “wrap up warm if you are heading to Castle Greyskull”. It caused an outcry at the time, much to the amusement of Celtic fans. Kirsty was a kilmarnock fan though and was having a slight dig at them for signing their striker Monster Munch Boyd from Kilmarnock.

Boyd went on to amass an amazing tally of 1 goal against Celtic, only 1 more their current top striker.

You’d likely all agree on the favourite to have pushed this nonsense to the smsm. A certain James Sexton Traynor.

As The Gombeen Man has so very sensibly pointed out once more, this PR farce that has been ongoing since December could (and should) have been nipped in the bud by any honest person in charge of a responsible PR position by simply stating (in his words) “Rangers are disappointed by the conduct of our player when he left the field of play, Mr Morelos has been fined by the club for his throat cutting gesture. We would like to take this opportunity to apologise to any offended parties”. © TGM

But alas they were either too proud to do this. You know pride right? That thing that sometimes comes before a fall. Or too arrogant to admit the truth. Instead we were fed some BS PR line about the game being ended. That was basically saying, ”We at Ibrox are of the opinion that you are all so stupid you’ll believe this lie.”

The SFA should have stepped in before this got out of hand too, but yet again they fail to do much of anything these days that is for the benefit and betterment of the game.

Instead Scottish football have been put through a pantomime of PR disaster coming from over at Ibrox. How anyone with the slightest bit of sense over there, first team members and staff included, are not wondering just what in the hell have they have let themselves in for. Signing up to this nonsense is beyond the realm of sensible people. Is it affecting their game? Very likely.

We all know that he is a poisoned bitter twisted little person, and they should have seen the damage he causes well before now. He should have been given his marching orders years ago.

You really have to wonder how long they will continue to allow Traynor to embarrass them. Maybe they should use the compensation money they got when winning the Tax Case to appoint a new younger more experienced less bitter PR Guru? I mean they did win that and are still currently trading as The Rangers, right? And they have money surely? But then again, perhaps as someone once said…

Never interrupt your enemy when they are making mistakes.

More FAKE Old Firm Bullshit in the paper this morning.

Traynor attacked by “Sectarian bigots” in the street! Eh?!

Nah, sorry, again I’m not buying your shite!

After they lost to Killie, I said things are about to become hysterical …we didn’t have to wait long!

Fake news everywhere.

I’d suggested to Mahe a couple of days ago that I would cover pretty much the same subject as you have in the weekend article, along with a match review. Yours is better!

The last two weeks have been a train crash for anyone with the best interests of Scottish football at heart. All to cover the arses of two of the biggest chancers involved in the game-Morelos and Traynor.

Now I’ve said before that I don’t think that Morelos is actually a bad lad,but when you indulge the reckless nature of such a young lad you will reap the whirlwind. A strong manager would have told him to knuckle down and what he is good at. Stop the strops, stop playing to the gallery, stop the wind-ups.

Score goals, that’s what we pay you for.

Sadly for Gerrard,he cannot do this. Because Morelos is a protected species within the club,as well as in most of Scotland. He is being undermined by those higher up the food chain at that club-and the untimely injury to Defoe, currently recuperating in a Geriatric Ward, did him no favours. I wish him well, btw, and that he recovers fully in around three months(!)

Traynor hasn’t done himself any favours either,of course. Traynor,in fact, hasn’t done ANYONE at that club any favours. Firstly,he gets paid for everything he does, and secondly, everything he does comes back to bite them on the bellend. But then, that’s what happens when you allow a small man with a large ego and a grudge free rein with your reputation.

Especially when that same small man runs a PR outfit with only one customer.

There’s a mark of your success,Jim. Probably the most high profile man in the PR industry in Scotland-and you are so f…..g crap at it that you have ONE customer, which you are systematically ruining.

Toxic doesn’t even come close to doing him justice.

February 15, 2020 4:11 am

Again,it will all be on CCTV. I’ll wait for the proof.

If Traynor or Police Scotland told me the sun was shining,I’d pack an umbrella.

Bobby, you need to read it a few times to believe it.. It’s priceless! ? The press in this country think we are all morons, that will just buy any old crap as long as it’s in the media.

I now believe very little of what I see, and even less of what I read ?

February 15, 2020 4:30 am

I stopped believing anything HM GOV said when Thatcher started buggering about with the employment stats. At about the same time,I realised that different newspapers conveyed a different slant on the same news items, and that columnists were generally only expressing their own opinions. The route to simply making things up to suit an agenda has been long established.

A narrative is being set here, for what reason we don’t know yet, but I’d guess there’s another shit storm heading toward Govan.

We can expect much more of this, the further we pull away from them.

February 15, 2020 4:51 am

In other news,

the ban on Man City from playing in CL for two seasons will likely cost them £170m plus the £30m fine.

I think it’s worse than that. They can’t afford to cover those costs without outside funding-which will put them in breach again! That means that they will have to sell a number of players-who will probably be putting in transfer requests anyway if they can’t play in the CL. And that will make their return to the top a little more difficult.

When you add in the difficulties that the likes of Man Utd,Arsenal,Spurs are having, plus those of Real and Barcelona-and don’t forget that PSG and other French clubs, plus a good few in Italy are also being looked at on FFP-there is a very much greater chance developing of a breakaway from UEFA.

These clubs require income at the top end of the scale. Like, all of it or as much as they can get. Being told that they have to live within their-current!-means will wreck their business plan.

Feed the rich, beggar the poor-it’s the future,I tell you!

February 15, 2020 4:53 am

I think they do much of it because it’s in their DNA,mate. Haters gonna hate. As for a shitstorm? I think they’re beyond that anyway. FUBAR’d,if you will. The only question is when, not if.

And see above, the latest FFP announcement has just killed their last hope.

I could never work out how those English clubs thought they could continue with this crazy spending forever…there are now loads of really average players earning ridiculous amounts. An example of that would be someone like Jesse Lingard of Man U, a very average player, he is on something like £200k a week!!I

Just can’t see how that can continue.

As for Sevco …I think it’s finally dawned on them that we are in a different league to them, and they can’t see how that is ever gonna change …well, some of them now get it ?

Sevco game off, a chance for us to ramp it up, tomorrow.

February 15, 2020 1:09 pm

Not surprised, what with all the pish that’s been flowing from there lately. Pity though,as St J have hit a run of form.

February 15, 2020 1:16 pm

Given their game is off, which is poor form for a so called professional outfit.

This surely will have a big impact on their revenue / cash flow. Seemingly in
London last few weeks with the begging bowl out, Close Bros not playing ball
and Mike Bhoy still hovering !! All getting retry tight….

They ain’t had many home games in 2020…….

February 15, 2020 2:47 pm

Jabba , allegedly, attacked. Someone supposedly lobbed a rock at him! Now Jabba claims the ‘assault’ occurred due to his position at Sevco FC. Well I guess that means that a disgruntled Sevco fan is just as likely to have, allegedly, thrown a rock at him as a Celtic supporter. Which the impartial SMSM while not pointing the finger at a Tim being the perpetrator are most certainly dropping hints that It may well be. Me i’d be interested in knowing if there were any witnesses?

Olgach- don’t believe that nonsense either, I wouldn’t put anything past him.

Twists n turns
February 15, 2020 2:54 pm

A lot of speculation that the Thomson thing is indeed the child abuse story. If it is – two things

1. Drip feeding / sensationalism re such a subject is despicable

2. Celtic should’ve had this matter fully investigated and dealt with a long long time ago. If it is about to be slapped across the newspapers / Ch 4, it’s their own damn fault.
They indicated they were investigating this a long time ago yet not one victim had been approached.

Shameful from start to finish and if this is what’s about to break, I for one will be glad.

Only yesterday I spoke to the dad of someone who was a victim of abuse in Scottish football, and who ultimately took his own life. His dad is a broken man. Broke my fkn heart to see the despair still very evident in his face.

February 15, 2020 2:56 pm

From Celtic Underground.
Tam Cowan on Craig Whyte – “I wouldn’t believe a word that comes out of that guy’s mouth.” Whyte wasn’t there to defend himself. Surely an apology from the BBC will be forthcoming?

I don’t want SC to follow in the footsteps of CQN into ruin (and no I’m not referring to it becoming the Board’s media wing), what I am talking about is much worse: the continual references to Ibrox as Castle Greyskull.

Greyskull is where the good guys live. Snake Mountain is where the bad guys live.

We need to get this right. All else is just details.

February 15, 2020 3:04 pm

Snake Mountain has a waterlogged pitch.

February 15, 2020 3:18 pm

MIT you are absolutely correct, I believe Kirstys confusion belonged to the fact that the evil Skeletor(sp) who lived at Snake Mountain’s goal was always to find and take over Greyskull, i had thought of including her faux pas in the piece but left it as her intention was good, and did cause a bit of mirth back in the day. 🙂

February 15, 2020 3:38 pm

Jambos 2 down after 30 mins. Accies have player sent off which may offer the Diets a wee chance to get back into the game. I don’t like the diets but would much rather see a team with a plastic pitch struggling at the foot of the table at this stage of the season. BTW just how bad must a team be to be beaten by Hearts? -no sniggering now!
