Noisy Neighbours

Morning,all.

Not an awful lot happening on Planet Fitba’ at the moment as I know you are all aware. So maybe we should be grateful for the pantomime act over on the south side of town as our noisy neighbours continue to throw their toys about the place in the manner of the typical spolilt seven year old brat who just isn’t getting his way.

Spare the rod and spoil the child,as the old adage says. In this case,of course, the brat actually wants rid of the rod altogether! To be precise,Rod McKenzie, along with Neil Doncaster and Murdoch McLennan, the three top honchos at the SPFL. Their crime? Well,it’s difficult to say. The charges against them from the huns seem to alter with every statement they issue, and despite holding evidence of wrongdoing and malfeasance, they refuse to elaborate any further.

It’s a strange way to demand clarity in the game, isn’t it? To make such serious allegations against people, threatening their livelihoods not to mention any remaining stability in the game, while not giving any suggestion as to what these allegations are? Naturally, our fearless bloodhounds in the press are all over this, quite rightly demanding that Rangers put up or shut up,and give at the very least outline details of the charges they wish to raise and the reasons why they believe them to be appropriate.

Except,as usual,they aren’t.

As ever,a missive from Ibrox is treated as Holy Writ and must be supported, and repeated at every opportunity. There has been barely a word of criticism of the way that Tangers have gone about this witch hunt-or wild goose chase,as I prefer to think of it. Certainly not in our mainstream media. There may well be questions to be answered, but we will never know unless we know what those questions, those allegations are. And it seems to be one of them secret things that nipple-baring types are so obsessed with.

Meantime, the huns continue with their demands that the three targets of their ire are suspended pending investigation into unspecified allegations. Now that is a breach of natural justice as their reputations will be forever tarnished by such a suspension, and we know that even if they are found to be wholly innocent of the as yet unspecified allegations, those suspensions will be cast up again and again by an entirely unaccountable press cadre as they do their masters’ bidding.

In my opinion,it is time for the SFA-who have barely uttered a word in public in the last month while the game for which they hold supreme supervisory and regulatory authority is in danger of implosion-to issue a demand of their own. It may be argued that they have no jurisdiction over SPFL matters, that that will not hold water. They are abdicating their responsibilities on this one. It is time for them to tell Rangers to put up or shut up. To release the information that they have told the world that they have in their possession and to allow due process within the SPFL to take place thereafter. Or to withdraw any allegations and to refrain from further muddying of the waters.

Or to face a charge of bringing the game into disrepute.

It is now over a week that this mud-slinging has been going on. The game in Scotland has bigger things to worry about than the egos of certain figures within an already toxic club. They have done enough damage to Scottish football over the years and have yet to learn the meaning of humility or collectivism as a result. It is time for Scottish football as a whole to show such collectivism and impose that much-needed humility on its problem child.

Also the vick on the feet and chest is good.

Twists n Turns
Here in this part of the USA they wouldn’t know what cigarettes or fags are.
You rarely see anyone smoking except for cool youth who vape.
When i used to work in Prague adjusting to the smoking was a huge topic of conversation with the Americans.
We usually had an after party following our two week shoots and with a big crew hired a bar or restaurant.
It always followed the same pattern the Americans(about 30 of ) would arrive first and get stuck in to the food and booze.
About an hour in the Czechs would appear and start smoking and drinking.
Cue the American exodus as they can’t handle the smoke or fear of second hand smoking.
I hung around a little even though i have never smoked,In my house my mum, dad, brother and 3 sisters all smoked so i was kind of used to it.
No-one in my family smokes now but it still catches my attention the amount of smokers in the UK as here it’s banned not only in bars and restaurants and some public spaces so it is rare to see see people smoking.

jimthetim53

Yes I remember it well. I was a Hibby for the day! Pity about the stuff at the end. I have a Jambo pal and I swear to God he sings Sunshine On Leith at the Karaoke in the pub for a laugh! (It’s a mainly Tim pub.)

ASWGL

fan They’ve banned smoking here in the UK too now in bars restaurants. public places, and the workplace. It’s actually had an adverse effect slightly, and made it a bit more social, as you now have to go outside a bar to smoke, and you end up speaking to people you might otherwise not talk to.

Here you may see the odd lonely smoker outside at the only corner of building that’s allowed.
They usually get the same treatment as lepers.
Eventually there will be a ban in all public places.
Second hand smoke and lawyers are formidable foes.

fan I was in Prague this year at a stag away do, very nice place, some stunning architecture, I was told by a local, it was one of Hitler’s favourite cities and that’s why it escaped most of the bombing and shelling during the war.

HI JIM, leave it with me?? what you doing today.

Good Morning Troops,
Twists we are just going to collate all the advice into one big article to post tomorrow incase you missed some.
My own advice will be there 😉
I was going to ask your opinion on the new chariot today as you’ve had time to access. We have a running sweep in the Whatsapp group which part will need replaced first and Ive went for rear power windows as they are known for that here.
You just rest and relax. A hot whisky in the evening. AweNaw will sing you a song, Packy will tell another true story, and alls well that ends well.
Beside’s you have an article from California’s voice of authority on Scottish football coming tomorrow 😉

Bobby,, aye they should hit them with a charge, but then we have seen the way to negate that. Just work for the company that owns the team rather than the team and hey presto you are out of reach!
The rags also can spout shit because they are out of reach and with the nation addicted to the national sport the rags must be allowed to report it, so they havent got the nerve to ban them or slap them down.
A charge now would need to be financial, and we know they dont have it, and could well be used as a deflector shield for putting the club into administration or the big L again.
I was thinking this is great we should just step aside and leave them all to it, but that could backfire if der Hun win, emboldening them even more.
You are correct in that the Sfa should step in, but only if needed I think. I believe we are at a stalemate now, no evidence produced so we are ignoring calls for inquiry, and the Spiffle will try to push on while Hun and media scream. Not sure how long they can keep that up without producing evidence.
I cant see what would change the situation between them at this moment. I really dont want our club of choice weighing in on this one unless vital as this is a scrap that has been a long time coming, and is so very needed.

Im thinking Thursdays meeting says yes go ahead and crown your Champions, announced on Friday and we have a hell of a weekend. I hope thats how it goes.

Hail Hail

Prague is one of my favorite cities.
Spent about 6 weeks a year there for 10 years.
There is a great movie called Anthropoid about the Czech resistance assassinating Heydrich the German commander. This sparked massive reprisals from Hitler and thousands of Czech’s paid with their lives.
The church they holed up in is still there and has a museum in basement dedicated to their heroism

Another of my favorite places is the KGB museum dedicated to the Soviet occupation of Prague.
It is run by a total lunatic who says he was a KGB officer and who thinks the Czech’s were ungrateful clowns for liberating themselves from Russian occupation..
He got misty eyed talking and showing me archive pictures of the tanks in the squares and on the bridges ready to level the city during the 1968 uprising
I went back there often as his maniacal rantings thoroughly amused me.
Took my step kids there when they were 11 and 14 and they loved it.He at one point dressed us up as Soviet troops and armed us to the teeth so we could take a pic.
My wife was to afraid because of my previous accounts to visit.
It was near the US embassy as well.

big packy

MAHE, good to see you on, give my regards to you and yours,.HH.

Scottish football could be well and truly fecked!

Nicola Sturgeon saying sports fans should not expect to be back to stadiums any time soon – certainly difficult until there’s a vaccine. Her CMO also against televised sports events resuming behind ‘closed doors’ – he warns it could encourage people to gather in groups to watch.

fan cheers, grabbing Anthropoid to watch later ?

Meanwhile the price of a barrel of oil falls to $26.19. Things looking very bleak for NE Scotland. Break even for a lot of North sea platforms is considerably more than that. Problem being it isn’t such an easy task to shut in a well given the effort required to bring them back on line.

On the smoking they have actually banned it outdoor in some small towns in Cali. Its shunned here.
I recall one of the Yanks here asking me to get him some while going for beer.
Grab me a pack of Marlboro Red he calls.
I wasnt sure what terminology to use when I got there and just out of habit from hearing it that often growing up said to yer man 20 Marlboro.
Twenty he exclaims and starts fluffing a carrier bag for use.
Im looking at him confused,,aye 20,,you know a box.
A single pack?
Yeah.
Oh,,,why you ask for 20?
Thats what we say at home in Ireland.
Why twenty?
Because theres 20 in the pack,,,doh
Him,, Sir theres 16 in the pack here.
Me,,ah I see, my bad. DOH !

In Italy they have cigarette machines on the side on the street that look like ATM’s aka Cash dispensers aka Hole in the wall you put you card in and get money out. Thats how convenient and how ingrained into culture they are. Theres no checking ID, its straight cash so theres underage smokers sorted. Cant be good.
I was reading recently UHaul refuses to hire smokers as they give them health insurance here and they have worked it out to be costlier.
Also its known now insurance companies will look for you lying on your application to weasle their way out of paying, and with the Mary Jane being legal over here it has lead to an issue.
They will be asking if you toke,, say no and if they find it when you go to hospital you are screwed so folk just say yes.
However as its often combined with the much more carcinogenic tobacco, ticking the yes box to marijuana automatically means you get screened for nicotine. No nicotine but MJ showing you don go near tobacco at all will result in your insurance being a lot cheaper. And they will test again later if sick.
Its acts like that will keep pushing the numbers down but it will never go away completely.
The kid knocking your door with two thirds price packs is a daily occurrence in the Belfast areas, worth big money, and has cost lives in the past. Organisations will not give up that easy money without hitting back.

I seem to remember reading that industry in Britain at the beginning of WW2 changed rapidly to meet the needs of the country at war. Why isn’t their dozens of factories producing for the needs of the NHS? There’s still profit to be made!
