The Waiting Game
Morning,all.
Could be a momentous wee day, this. Something which certainly didn’t seem likely on Saturday 15 October,2011! Twenty minutes to go at Rugby Park and three down to Kilmarnock saw the knives being sharpened. Neil Lennon would have been unlikely to survive such a defeat on the back of some already poor domestic (and European) form which had left Rangers with a hefty lead beforehand.
Instead,Anthony Stokes and an inspired James Forrest led the unlikeliest of comebacks, with Charlie Mulgrew completing the comeback with an equaliser in the 80th minute.
Our lads never looked back after this, and cruised to a comfortable league title, the first of four under Neil Lennon, and eight in succession.
To date! For we are again comfortably clear in the title race, and although football is suspended in Scotland,it looks increasingly likely that the SPFL will vote today to declare the season over. Placings will be decided on a points per game basis, and we will be
NINE IN A ROW CHAMPIONS!!!
It is unfortunate that the decision appears also to have been made to cancel the rest of the Scottish Cup campaign for 2019/20 as that denies us the chance to attain a remarkable FOURTH consecutive Treble. But no matter. We are for the second time
NINE IN A ROW CHAMPIONS
and will be looking for a fifth consecutive Clean Sweep of domestic trophies next season. I won’t be making any predictions on that, and I’m not handing out any plaudits or congratulations just yet either. Meanwhile,we await developments…
Morning sleepy heid Bobby,
JIMTHETIM53
Worse than that, mate. Admin problems and locked out completely. I’ve cleared up a few of them but very limited access. Anyway, hopefully this article will be replaced shortly!!!

Bobby, I was driving from Glasgow to Ayrshire for a family wedding. By the time we got there we were 3-0 down. The families were all tims so we just said ” ach well, that’s the League gone, let’s just enjoy our day. ” When we then heard that it had finished 3-3 the consensus was just that the fight back might just be enough to save Lenny ‘s job.
And now here we are……..
“Sentinel Celts airs it’s dirty washing in public.”
Is that a cryptic message to the board?
Great picture, fantastic cloudless sky too.
TGM
It’s no really cloudless..it’s been photoshopped! ????
BILLYBHOY
I was in The Dolphin in Swindon, which was my local pub. Had been in town but got bored,so headed back for a bit of fun wi the lads. That soon stopped when my smirking hun mate pointed out the latest score wi twenty minutes or so left.
I said-there might be a fat bastert smirking here, but the fat lady isnae warming up yet. We win by default anyway when you lot go bust.
He didn’t go bust-he went ballistic! Never happen, biggest club in the world, etc. I just laughed,he’s really easy to wind up. And potted the eight ball to really piss him off.
Just a pity we decided not to apply the hose or throw an anchor to our drowning rival. Hopefully we won’t make that mistake again.
Btw,my mates in Ayrshire-Kilwinning-only attempted to talk to me about football last time I was home in January. First time in eight years! I suggested they don’t-I’ve got a lot of ammo saved since 2012.
ASWGL
My preference would be for the Scottish Cup to be played, but I’m not too bothered about it tbh. I just want to go to the pub to watch the fitba wi the lads, over a fair few pints of the black stuff, and plan my next trips to see family, friends,Celtic.
Is it really too much to ask? Cans are ok-for starters they’re about half the price here that they are in Scotland!-but it’s not the same. And nothing replaces family and friends, zoom calls don’t come close.
THEGOMBEENMAN
There’s a lot of potentially dirty linen that we get sent that we don’t publish as we can’t verify it. Sometimes I send it to other sites who may have better chance of doing so. Nothing is discarded!
This crisis though has brought a general coming together of the sites not to rock the boat at the moment. It’s not a deliberate policy, nor even coordinated. Just that there’s a time and a place, etc.
BMCUWP-was plastering a house on a building site in Coatbridge and the painter working in the house next door was getting awfy excited that day.Did they not drop points that weekend to ?
Good morning All!
Today on the birthday of Brother Walfrid, Celtic hopefully awarded title for double celebration!
Regarding Scottish Cup, why wait for fans when you can follow the Koreans…

Just imagine the dolls decked in the new Adidas kit placed all round the Celtic end at Hampden … in fact you could get 17000 dolls… what a commercial advert for Celtic and Adidas!
You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last
But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun
Crying like a fire in the sun
Look out, the saints are comin’ through
And it’s all over now, baby blue
The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense
Take what you have gathered from coincidence
The empty-handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets
The sky, too, is folding under you
And it’s all over now, baby blue
All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home
Your empty-handed army is all going home
You lover who just walked out your door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor
The carpet, too, is moving under you
And it’s all over now, baby blue
Leave your stepping stones behind now, something calls for you
Forget the dead you’ve left, they will not follow you
The vagabond who’s rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore
Strike another match, go start anew
And it’s all over now, baby blue
FAIRHILLBHOY
They did, mate. I think they lost,I’ll check back. It was a huge weekend for us,losing at lunchtime and them winning at 3-5pm would have widened the gap by three points. And it was already a chasm! We got a point back, but also some belief and determination.
In fact-and I meant to mention it in the article-we only lost once after that. To Dundee United,by which time the league was over anyway.
AWENAW
Early Dylan was a master of the bitter break up song. He regrets a few of them but we are bloody glad he wrote them!
Ballad in Plain D is the most notorious, but I think Like a Rolling Stone hits every target, with a few more taken out as collateral damage.
FAIRHILLBHOY
They drew 1-1 wi St Mirren, leaving us ten points behind in third.

Check the “backing band”-and it’s even got some tambourine for JIMTHETIM53 and BIGPACKY!!!
BMCUWP’S,
Yep.
I couldn’t help thinking that Pedro & Dermot might be quietly grateful for Sevco’s rants. It won’t do any harm to SB sales and created a unity in the support.
Thanks Douglas & Co.

SPFL SEASON 2019/20 CURTAILED
PREMIERSHIP CLUBS REACH UNANIMOUS AGREEMENT THAT TOP FLIGHT CANNOT BE FINISHED
The SPFL has today announced that, following consultation with all 12 top-flight clubs, the Board of the SPFL has determined that the 2019/20 Ladbrokes Premiership has been concluded with immediate effect.
As with the Ladbrokes Championship, Ladbrokes League One and Ladbrokes League Two competitions, final season placings have been determined by points per game in league matches played to 13 March 2020 by each club.
The decision means that Celtic are crowned 2019/20 champions and Hearts have been relegated to the Ladbrokes Championship.
SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan said: “Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to officially congratulate Celtic on their achievement of winning the Ladbrokes Premiership this season, and also to sincerely commiserate with Hearts on their relegation.
“We would all have rather seen the league season played out on pitches, in stadiums and in front of supporters. This is not the way anybody involved with Scottish football would have wanted to conclude the league season but, given the grave and unprecedented circumstances that we are facing, the Board has agreed that it is the only practical way forward.
“Covid-19 has wreaked havoc on sporting competitions around the world and the repercussions will be felt for a long time. Scottish Government restrictions and deep concerns for both player and spectator safety left the SPFL with no realistic option but to call the Ladbrokes Premiership now and we thank the Premiership clubs for their support on this decision.”
SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “On Friday, Ladbrokes Premiership clubs expressed their clear and unanimous view that there was no realistic prospect of completing the outstanding fixtures from Season 2019/20. The SPFL Board met this morning and in line with the express agreement of member clubs in April, the Board determined that League Season 2019/20 and the Ladbrokes Premiership be brought to an end.
“This decision now enables us to pay out around £7 million in fees to help clubs stay afloat during this incredibly difficult time. We will begin processing these payments immediately.
“The focus of all those involved in the game will now turn to how we get football up and running again safely as soon as possible. Next season’s Betfred Cup first round group stage is scheduled to begin in mid-July, with coverage from Premier Sports. The 2020/21 League Season in all four of our Divisions is due to commence on 1 August, which coincides with the start of our new and exclusive five-year broadcasting deal with Sky Sports.
“Nobody should be under any illusion as to how complicated and difficult a challenge it will be to return Scottish football to normality. We will be liaising with Government on the best way forward and working to ensure that all of our 42 clubsare playing football again as soon as humanly possible.”

Brilliant Celtic just brilliant ?????????
Let’s try to be graceful about this League….show some dignity and quietly contemplate how fortunate we are to be permitted to celebrate this history-equalling record-breaking 9 in a row!!
Or let’s just ram it right up ’em…
Here We Go 9 In A Row
Here We Go 9 In A Row
Here We Go 9 In A Row
Here We Go 9 In A Row…….
Willie Maley was his name
He brought some great names to the game
When he was the boss at Celtic Park
He taught them how to play football
He made the greatest of them all
Gallacher and Quinn have left their mark.
And they gave us James McGrory and Paul McStay
They gave us Johnstone, Tully, Murdoch, Auld and Hay
And most of the football greats
Have past through Parkheads gates
For to play football the Glasgow Celtic way.
In 38 there was a show Glasgow was the place to go
A model of the tower was footballs prize
England sent 4 of the best
They didn’t meet with much success
Cause the trophy ended up in paradise.
Nation time was here 53 that was the year
Another 4 from England met there doom
Because the cup is in the Parkhead trophy room.
And then in 1957 we faced a guy called Gorgie Nevin
The game is etched on every Celtic fan
Wilson, Mochan and Mc Phail
And Willie Fernie scored as well
As Celtic beat the Rangers 7-1.
So 10 years they had gone and so
To Portugal we had to go, to play the team that Italy
Adore
Celtic went out to attack
They won the big cup and they brought it back
It’s the first time it had been on British shores.
And now a new Millennium we have a brand new stadium
We’re amongst the honours once again
The Celtic fans did proudly sing
Larsson is the King of Kings
And he joins the list of famous Celtic men!
‘Til whenever!
