Time for action

Today’s offering will be short and sweet, just like Jeremy Frimpong.

Those who understand how all things football work up north would have realised some type of deflection was coming down the pipeline following our rivals Covid breach.
Due to the size and nature of that breach, the full details of which are still being suppressed, their buddies in the media were called upon to provide something, anything.
What they have come up with scrapes the bottom of the barrel, even for fans with typewriters who wouldn’t know real journalism if it was staring them in the face.

The unfortunate victim just had to be Celtic player, that was obvious, and the onform Jeremy is just the latest in a long line of those smeared by the fourth estate, dying fast due to acts like this.
But with their latest headline they show how far they have fallen, and how they deserve to die outright.

The big election result here in the States will soon dominate the rest of the week’s news and maybe even the week after also, but this attack on our player and by association our club cannot be forgotten. The rags make a fortune off the backs of their beloved Old Firm, it’s their bread and butter, they need it.
However we as a club, a team, and a support don’t need them one bit.

Jeremy should be the line in the sand for our club. The fans would really appreciate the club standing up tall for itself against these liars and gossip merchants once and for all, or it will simply continue at will.
If not the club, then Neil should protect his players by acting, regardless of what others think.

We must not let the Sun walk away on this one, that warns the rest, earns some kudos, and helps build a siege mentality which may come in very useful indeed.
Ban the filthy rag and help it die.

Hear hear!
You’re right, they should be investigating this week’s real story in Scottish football rather than publishing squirrels like this.

November 4, 2020 7:56 am

There may be bigger stories in the world today, but obviously nobody told The Sun. And as the MC of many a hootenanny who has heard a reluctant voice on the other side of the line-oh,I’m not sure I should even have contacted you in the first place, etc…

(Or the classic-pretty sure my partner wouldn’t enjoy it. Oh,bring him out anyway, hun or not,we’ve met worse. Erm,he’s a she! They did come along, btw, and good friends to this day.)

Celtic is a club that is open to all.

That rag should remember that, that we don’t judge, and certainly not by their low standards. I’m pretty sure that his colleagues already knew, pretty sure his family did too. But even if they didn’t,it should not be a matter for discussion nor the type of scandalous headline that frankly was a disgrace fifty years ago.

Am I missing something here? I’m not sure what the outrage is about. Did Jeremie Frimpong go against the Covid rules of the club and the country? If the answer is yes then why would we expect that a tabloid would print it.

November 4, 2020 9:21 am

Morning all…I hope this finds you well, and comfortable in your own skin!
ATOB. the earlier headline for the article was the wee burd claiming Frimpong was gay as he spurned her advances while they were cooped up in his flat – https://videocelts.com/2020/11/blogs/latest-news/the-sun-is-forced-into-sharp-u-turn-on-frimpong-story/ – in addition it’s also a non-story that the Scum has obviously been sitting on until the right time to release it happened ie right after Arfield’s illegal birthday party. Kinda evening up the bad news stories for the Cellic and Rangers fans, just to show balance in the city or maybe they might have priviliges removed by their Masters!

The fact remains he broke the rules as did sevco players. There is no proof that there were more than the 2 sevco players at the party. If there is then there are ways to make sure that comes out. So far, nothing so that suggests a non story. There is no way in my mind they are covering up others being there as it’s not just the spfl they’ll be lying to, it’s UEFA as well. If they go to Portugal knowing their players have been out the bubble they’ll get hammered. As for Jeremie, stick to the play station son.

November 4, 2020 11:00 am

ATOB…if Frimpong broke the rules he deserves to be called to account, were agreed on that I think! According to the SPFL he hasn’t broken any rules, though! It was apparently all over social media in mid-October so why bring it up now? Surely you don’t believe it is just coincidence that in the week that The Rangers’ players were caught at the party the Scum happens to bring up a story that’s 2 or 3 weeks old! But here’s the crucial bit…the suggestion that the wee fella is gay in 2020 alongside a picture of the wee bird in her underwear is designed to appeal to the Neanderthals in the support! It’s extremely bad journalism from an extremely bad publication but the timing of it and the subject matter should be questioned by Celtic and our support. IMO of course!

Close run thing in the US elections thus far – now who would have thunk that? Certainly not me going by all the press and online media that seemed to be predicating the imminent collapse of Trump and along with it populist politics worldwide, seems as if a very significant number of Americans actually like Donald T, “oh those crazy yanks”😏

November 4, 2020 11:19 am

Trump calling into question the votes being counted after election day. Here in Scotland, from what I remember, The votes in the Islands are not counted or declared until a day later. Ironically his mother was from the Outer Hebrides.

And so another life is destroyed by the magic of the Plc’s Old Firm. Thanks Pedro and Dermot for saving it…

The article, entitled “Shooting Back” in the tabloid is unclear.

It suggests that the Covid protocols were breached but also states that a SPFL spokesperson said there was no breach “on the facts presented.”

Who took the photograph of the player and the lady drinking from a can of coke in the article? It looks like it was taken covertly.

Was the player followed? Were his social media activities monitored? If so were protocols followed? Did the newspaper or any third party acting for the woman have contact with her?

Let’s establish the facts and act within the guidelines.

No equivocation or tabloid politics Celtic.

Investigate and apply whatever sanction is appropriate taking into account the unusual circumstances.

On a human level and leaving aside the toxic Taig-Hun axiom. The toll on the young dealing with restrictions to their liberty is substantial but I suppose anything is fair game to the Old-Firmist mindset.

November 4, 2020 1:20 pm

Back to US politics

They have actually elected someone to congress who openly supports “The QAnon conspiracy theory”. Step forward Marjorie Taylor Greene – elected by the good people of Northwest Georgia

WTF is the QAnon theory you ask?

Well QAnon is a wide-ranging, unfounded conspiracy theory that says that President Trump is waging a secret war against elite Satan-worshipping paedophiles in government, business and the media.
QAnon believers have speculated that this fight will lead to a day of reckoning where prominent people such as former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will be arrested and executed.

American politics in a nutshell or is that a nutter’s hell 🤔

Afternoon All,

November 4, 2020 2:01 pm

I would come on and say something interesting but I’m too busy biting nails here, like the rest of this country.
Shouldn’t have been a race at all, should be a landslide.
That fact its not is shocking.
Hail Hail from the divided States of America, where even lady liberty is crapping them this morning.

Ban the Sun!

November 4, 2020 2:37 pm

Looking very good now chaps ..

November 4, 2020 2:38 pm

IMO,it should have been a landslide for anyone up against Trump. But in the UK we can hardly call anyone out for the people they vote for.

November 4, 2020 2:40 pm

Because his opponent is Donald Trump is the short answer.

I know some think that’s a terrible platform, and the Dems should have run on a universal healthcare plus save the planet platform, but they didn’t. That looks a huge mistake now.

The two party system really needs done away with as does this electoral college crap.

America was once said to have saved the world, and was once upon a time admired.
It’s taken three generations but the opposite is just about true now.

Kamala will kick this countries arse into line.
A strong black woman who takes no crap is just what the doctor ordered.

Mahe & Bobby

Now Trump is the very last person i would consider voting for. However I would also place Biden alongside those i would find it extremely difficult to vote for given his shameful record in jailing minorities and his past utterances on race. But it’s seems very much like having to vote for the lesser of 2 evils in this election. I read an interesting article yesterday that stated reasonably affluent university educated Americans were more inclined to vote for Trump than Biden – mostly due to the economy! Seems like there was some truth in that going by the results so far. I also find it strange that Trump has seemingly picked up strong support from the Latino demographic in some regions!
It looks as if this election will do little to resolve the underlaying issues that continue to blight America society, it may even exacerbate them.

November 4, 2020 3:21 pm

Puff puff

Is it not still too close to call With Biden on 224 and Trump on 213? Winning post is 270 and there are still a number of key states to declare.

When will this soap opera in America be over?

It looks like our prodigal son Bolongoli might be starting against Man Utd at 5.55 in the CL.

Only two hours left to dodge the television and radio propaganda and the big budget election spoof.

The Irish left prejudice and poverty for America and found more prejudice and poverty in the ghettos of the USA.

George Washington was a Grand Master Freemason. Many of the Founding Fathers were Freemasons.
Much of the architectural infrastructure of Washington DC is a monument to Freemasonry.
The native Indian was slaughtered. Their land stolen and the survivors live in despair and addiction.
The black African enslaved. The Mexican marginalised.
While clerics in pulpits did very little.

The Atomic Bomb dropped.
Corporate exploitation, wars, poverty, racism, corruption, crime, death penalty, addiction, despair, obscene wealth.

It’s seems the Americans learned a great deal from the British.

A corrupt system designed and perpetuated by the Ivy League two party duopoly.

There’s no solution in this election. The Democratic / Republican facade is about the pursuit of and control of power by the wealthy.

Similar to our own Old Firm illusion.

The decks are loaded and the average guy ends up picking up the tab.

The Americans know that and that’s why there’s no landslide.

It’s a country gripped by fear.

Margaret McGill
November 4, 2020 4:18 pm

There are 5 categories of republican supporters:
1. traditional bigots
2. Sixties civil rights reaction bigots
3. Evangelical Christians
4. the anti LBGT crowd
5. Gun nuts
This makes up 75% of white America. 72% of the American population is white.
What is each and every one of these peoples deepest secret fear?
Kamala becomes president.
Thats why its still 50/50

November 4, 2020 5:04 pm

True the oldest ‘democracy’ in the world was in large parts founded by Scots Irish settlers or descendants of these colonists (The founding fathers). Their version of democracy wasn’t all encompassing and so it remains to this day in the US.

November 4, 2020 5:48 pm

I would say life in general these days is pretty much reduced to the lesser of two evils in almost every area.
Politics is no different.
Look at football, don’t like what I see, but your team is your team. The liver would love a clean life but I’m fond of a beer. I love a good burger but the beef industry contributes loads to global warming. Need a var yet it hurts the planet when I use it, just like electricity.

The lesser of two evils is about all we have got these days.
Some would love that choice.

Biden will sign up to the Paris accord asap, that’s great news tbh. We wont know yet how much 12 years or so of trying to help will actually accomplish, but we know where not helping leads.
Glad to say its not the least of two evils there but one man determined to do the right thing on that front.
Sleepy Joe is far from perfect, aye, almost anyone that gets into politics you could say the same.
Going in clean and genuine isn’t enough, the dirty system will soon taint all it touches.
Look at Leo the leaker 😉

Hail Hail

You’d better believe he is.

There are similarities between Celtic and United.

A misfiring recruitment strategy. The execs seem to buy players with little thought about the system or structure of the team.

A decent guy. A fan’s favourite as coach…

Any attempt to bring an experienced, strong minded coach in ends up in tears.

Have Celtic said anything about this morning’s article?

Thanks for the reply. I agree inuendo about a players sexuality is disgraceful and yes I do agree again that they printed the story to detract from sevco players. It is another example that we need to be squeaky clean in our approach to the Covid bubble because rest assured we have few friends in the press and the others are desperate to do us down. It was ever thus but it’s ramped up times 10 this season – no pun intended.

November 4, 2020 6:51 pm

Can’t say i agree with you in regards to life being a choice between two evils – enjoyment of alcohol & food etc can be moderated so a healthy lifestyle can be maintained, as can a balance between food production and the environment – if we are just prepared to pay a bit more for our burgers. Alternatives to combustion engine driven vehicles are readily available as is green sourced energy to power them, again if we are all prepared to pay a bit more. I can’t say i fully understand American politics as i can not readily draw comparisons with politicians i admire, which are few, but i do know that making a choice between Biden and Trump when one looks at both their political histories is not one i would like to make.

Wouldn’t piss on either of them if they were on fire CSC

Maybe in the privacy of the Polling Booth the white voter in the States doesn’t have the courage to confront their conditioning and what they might be risking by voting against their

Trump’s appoint of Amy Coney Barrett and the Notre Dame connection to the Supreme Court of was a clear signal to the Catholic vote.

There’s a conservativism in the states that many of us might be surprised at.

Back to the game.

November 4, 2020 7:00 pm

To digress from real life Man U remind me of the present Celtic side with their playing style.
Players run forward from the back stop about 30 ft out then play a sideways or backwards pass.
By the time they cross the ball the opposition are defensively set.
There is also a complete lack of positional sense without the ball.
And defensive mistakes abound.

Watching the football tonight makes me wonder if our refs really are biased and or incompetent because there have been some ‘ stoaters ‘ in the games tonight! Not having a real interest in who wins in any I’m flicking about. The Chelsea and Rennes referee is the worst. He doesn’t give an offence at all to start with then ends up giving a penalty and a second yellow to the player whose arm it hit when it shot up off his knee from about a yard away. Jeezo if these are the top refs doesn’t say much for the rest! Mark you Son of Dallas was one so I’ve probably contradicted myself.
