Celts For Change 2021
A modern day Protest
We never thought that the club would ever be in a place that would make us feel like the Celts for change days back in 1993/94, but here we are we do feel like that, and it seems we need a Celts for change 2 to give the support a voice.
Things are a lot different now as the club are not going to go bust, and we will not be able to remove the owners, but we can let them know that we are all heartbroken and bewildered by recent events.
Some things sadly are just the same, as this board are just as disconnected from the fans as they were then.
Other things have changed as mobile phones, social media were not around, and the country was not in the midst of a pandemic, so we will need to use what we have available, to try and send a message to the board that they understand and that is by using modern technology to effect the numbers who follow the club on social media and what we spend with them.
We will try to reduce the numbers using the social media outlets of the club, the amount of mailings that they sent out, so that the marketing and commercial departments take note.
We will try to reduce the amount of income that the fans give the club as this is what Accountants love and they will notice the reduction of the hard-earned cash we spend.
The plan is to use the next 6 months before season ticket renewals are due to make our voices heard.
Not spending any, money at the club, the shop, cancel pools etc.
Unfollow any official club accounts on twitter,
Unfriend/Unfollow any official Facebook pages
Unsubscribe from any official club web sites, shop account, any mailing list, etc.
Send back any mailings, return to sender.
Hold out when season ticket renewals come in until there is change.
We will explain and explore all the ways to do the above, and add any new objectives as we progress.
What do we want?
The immediate resignation/sacking of the
CEO and UNOFFICIAL DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL Peter Lawwell.
He has to go now otherwise any change will be superficial and of limited impact.
We base this on the following.
He has been in post for 18 years,
His part in the 5-way agreement,
His reply to shareholders about not seeing something that was in an email to him,
Failure to deal with RES 12,
Gave a casual nod of acceptance to all the cheating before and after 2012,
No effort to implement FFP,
Not challenging the SFA about numerous refereeing mistake’s,
Briefing the press against the club manager,
Numerous transfer issues- McGinn, Shved, Compper, Fletcher, etc, etc, etc.
Hiring the club manager in a shower,
Not looking at CV’s that were in a drawer,
The abandonment of the sports science, diet, training and all round professionalism on the football side of the club,
Lack of forward planning in all areas,
And finally but not least Dubai
In our view, these and many other reasons will be his legacy.
When he goes, there must be a Director of football appointed who has complete control of the Football budget and all football departments.
