Celtic 1 – 1 Rangers

Morning,all.

A better performance from our heroes than we have seen so far this season. But that really is not saying very much.

Eddy played a fantastic cross into the box and Mo got on the end of it. At that stage,we were cruising. Another ball into the box saw Eddy nailed, and a nailed on penalty. Not so,as the cowardly Collum gave him a yellow for diving.

I have to be honest that I was worried by then! We were playing better than we had done all season, but…

And sure enough,a bloody ridiculous attempt at a pass back opened us up. One each, and no matter how hard we tried,we could not get our noses in front again.

Everything we do this season results in us shooting ourselves in the foot. It’s just been a disaster from day one.

On which point,I’ll leave it.

And what about that shite in Armadale yesterday? Van full of coppers, ooooooops, time for our tea break?

They can do what they want with the police and politicians looking on. Armadale or George Square, it’s the huns fiefdom

A thing of beauty

Magua,
It is a disgrace how the government and police have responded to these repeated breaches of Covid. What the heck are the rest of us doing staying in our houses when every week this mob take to the street en masses and cause spikes everywhere. A teacher friend was telling me that there are several schools with huge Covid surges in Ayrshire. I told her it wouldn’t be at saint this that or other and she said absolutely. It’s shocking that nothing is being said. That Jason Leitch has not shut his mouth since he caught sight of the lectern when this started last year yet when asked if the surges can be linked to that mob defying the lockdown he all of a suddenly couldn’t give an answer. Him that’s got an answer for everything, all the time!! The SNP are terrified to upset the hoardes. That is leading to law breaking and the police refusing to do their job. If that had been women having a silent vigil in the road to support women’s rights, do you think the transit would have drove away?

I agree with everything in your post.
We can also add, Kerbs painted red and blue in parts of West Lothian and Union Flags flying from many towns/village in Scotland.
The Ulsterisation of Scotland continues as Police Scotland and politicians look the other away or drive away.

Within a 6-7 mile radius of Armadale you have police stations in:

Whitburn – 2 miles
Bathgate – 3 miles
Blackburn – 4 miles
Livingston – 6 miles

They’d been out decorating the streets from 5 am. They were gathering all morning. There was no attempt to remove them, arrest them.

No reinforcements called in.

What they did do was shut the streets to traffic . Those videos you see are at Armadale cross. To shut it off means no access roads open in any direction. NSEW.

They’re not only failing to apply the rules here, they’re actually accommodating them by inconveniencing the rest of society. You know, the law abiding section?

As I said yesterday they tried to stop my daughter cycling through that shower of shite, yet stood back and watched more of them arrive on foot. Didn’t escort her through either. Let her take her chances.

Also, unless I’m mistaken it’s an offence to drink on the streets of Scotland. Has that law been put aside for now as well as the lockdown rules?

I’ll be watching the updates today on tv. Let’s hear what the excuses from Sturgeons sidekicks will be today.
How well the police contained it no doubt.

My friend phoned me yesterday to say that Wishaw and Carluke was decked out in the butchers everywhere you went. Lanarkshire is definitely a place stuck in some sort of time warp. The remaining part of the stage in Bellahouston Park that was used for Pope John Paul to address Catholics in the 80’s was painted red, white and blue. The mindset of these bigoted fuckwits goes beyond any rationale. Again, what are the authorities in different regions of Scotland going to do about this? Fuck all. I get the carpet baggers celebrations but there appears to be something else going down. Its like parts of the statelet in the 70’s and 80’s.

There Has been little let up in their over exuberant celebrations for two weeks now.
Almost seems orchestrated- a friend confirmed similar signs of Hun decoration in Alloa yesterday.

Reclaiming their ancient birthright from pesky, uppity Cafflicks.

Seems to me their moronic misbehaviour – all in good spirited fun, of course – is designed to draw a confrontational response.

Agree with your assessment.

I saw two bang average teams attempting to play football, with the very occasional flash of quality.

We have gifted them this League. If yesterday’s game is an indicator of anything, there is very little between us and them despite the 20 point gap!

Watched the game yesterday on my virtual season ticket.
Why did Edouard find it funny not getting a penalty ? He laughed in our last game when Soro burst a gut to get into position for a goal scoring opportunity, that Edouard didn’t give him .

I read a couple of media reports on the game, same old , same old . Invincible. 55 . Unbeaten.

Watching what’s transpired this season , and the Celtic PLC compliance in a game that’s bent , gives me the boak .

It’s like going down the boozer at the weekend , with the next door neighbour that pumps your wife while you’re on night shift through the week.

Yeah I could t think of anything to say in response to Mahe’s assessment.

1 cheating referee
2 poor teams
3 times we’ve failed to beat them this season

I don’t buy into some other assessments that we were good. We were better than them for the greater part of the match but let’s face it, they were shite. We were just less shite, but they still walked away with their unbeaten league record intact.

My thoughts continually turn to Dominic McKay. What’s he doing? I know he’s not on the payroll as yet but is he planning in the background. Speaking to potential DOF’s?
I’m still very conscious that the clock is ticking. So much to do and so little time to do it.

I listened to the podcast with David Lowe. Whilst I have no issue with his suggestion of shares being issued as an alternative to refunds, I’m very sceptical that this was the matter which got most air time.

I can think of a few more relevant questions that could have been asked of the Celtic board regarding where we are, where we are heading, and the timeframe left to address critical matters.

If the board approve the “ share v refund” scheme, then it’s a good from me. I think it’s a positive step.

However, in a few months we will step into CL qualifying ties. Look at our side yesterday. Consider the changes required to allow us a crack at qualification.

The gap is huge. Appointing a new management team ( including a DOF) in May or June just isn’t going to allow us the best opportunity to get through that critical first few matches.

Declan Gallagher on the radar apparently?? Who is making these decisions? Kennedy? Lawwell? Why?

It’s all very worrying.

Andy Pandy 2

Can’t recall feeling as flat about supporting our team. Can’t recall any time when a game against them didn’t get the old heart pumping. I wasn’t even going to watch it, but like some sort of masochist I felt I needed to. Ironically, ended up the only link I could get on hesgoal was Rangers TV, so watched minus the commentary!! Didn’t even raise a cheer for our goal. Was so quiet the Mrs didn’t even know I was watching it. I don’t live back home, but I really feel for all you guys who do. Sooner this season is over the better….. worry is that next season may not be any different. On brighter not the sun is shining here in Yorkshire, so off out for quick walk before work.

I said to her whilst that would be good for her, I’m more interested in getting my total freedom back.

Her response ?

Oh I’m not really bothered as long as I can get my haircut now.

How fucking far have people’s expectations been lowered now through this farce?

I see the EU are going to stem supplies of the vaccine to the U.K. now.
So where will that leave us? Another 9 months in lockdown? A year?

Bada,
Police Scotland should have intervened yesterday but yet again turned a blind eye. In fact if you watch the videos the police actually drive away from the throng gathered in Armadale. I hope everyone involved catches covid and remains in hospital for 55 weeks, absolute morons.

Noel Skytrot

A wee question and I’d ask people to be honest about their replies, if the scenes from last weekend and yesterday involved the Celtic support, what do we think the response would have been from the police and the Scottish Government?

So a powderkeg Old Firm Derby Peters out in a predictable damp squib of a draw.

Sky pundits take the moral high ground on racism and the mainstream media applaud Sevco supporters for following the club’s advice to stay at home.

A few quid worth of paint and stickers can’t gloss over the fact that Rangers went bust and entered Liquidation.

The Sevco support are giving it large for years of perceived arrogance by the Celtic support.

The majority of their support are convinced they’re the victims of a Taig, Nationalist plot to eradicate their culture.

Shareholders, investors, supporters of the Ibrox club got burnt by their own.

Like all flags the Union flag is only a rag covered with dye.

Paradoxically the majority in the Celtic support seem to think they’re the victim of only a Nationalist/Unionist/Hun plot.

Celtic Plc wanted the resurgence of a credible Sevco for financial and political reasons.

We paved the way by the 5WA their complicit silence and by capsizing the team

It’ll cost you 120p to buy an Ordinary Share in Celtic this morning.

Up 23% ytd and 30% over 12 months. Not a bad performance in a year of (apparent) unmitigated disaster on an off the pitch.

Celtic Season Ticket Holders and supporters are bring burnt by their own

Things are looking rosey for the Old Firm trademark.

As for the posts today I can only agree if you ain’t against bigotry ,racism call it what you will ,then don’t act all shocked when it raises its ugly head. These people have to be faced down at every turn. They are stuck in some entitled past and don’t even see that they are being played by other forces.Thick as thick.
As for the football while totally agreeing with the comments about our defensive frailty in my opinion in games this season we are far to guilty of not taking goal scoring chances. To often need to take another touch giving defenders time to regroup.I saw a stat that said 40 plus shots over the last 2 games against them ,one goal .Not nearly good enough.

Noel Skytrot

Thought I would have a wee swatch on the social media sites, dear god. Deleted, again.

Morning all!
One thing about the downturn in performances over the last wee while…you’ve had a bit more free time away from writing match reports, Bobby! 😉😁
Okay, I’m hoping I can put into words what I think/feel about the latest Police Scotland/ScotGov and even Celtic’s inaction towards the Huns celebrations. Apologies in advance as I’ve no idea what’s gonna come out here!
I cannot understand how and why our towns have been turned into shrines to the Huns, how the hordes have been permitted to gather en masse without fear of prosecution. I witnessed three vehicles putting up flags on the lampposts on the roundabout outside my house yesterday morning and then firing off fireworks – at 5.45am! They moved up the road into the town and, I never saw it but my wife and kids did, apparently the town centre was ridiculous in the amount of red, white and blue paraphernalia that was adorning the buildings and street furniture! All day yesterday I could hear fireworks going off sporadically from morning to dark. Car horns signalling their support for the flags was also a constant all day as they came round the roundabout and on into the town. The gathering after the league win a fortnight ago, whilst unacceptable in the pandemic was probably understandable given the time the Huns have waited for a success. If we’d done the Ten I’m sure we’d have been the same (I know for a fact I wouldn’t have been at Parkheid but I’d understand it if people had gone) and the urge to show support to the team would have been overwhelming for some.
But, the scenes from George Square enabled by the Police escort from Ibrox is hard to fathom. The number of Fixed Penalty Notices issued for non-compliance of Covid guidelines is shockingly low – even if Police Scotland had used it as a fundraiser to pay for the extra policing it would have been better than only issuing seven, yip SEVEN, FPNs. 28 arrests were made in the Square/Ibrox, presumably for disorder offences, including one reprobate unbelievably having a public ‘one off the wrist’! Social media footage of a Hun firing a firework rocket, almost into the crowd at George Square is terrifying! That these monkeys were permitted into the City Centre with a Police escort, and stores were targeted by the mob and were allowed to wreak havoc on our Civic Centre with wild abandon and no serious attempt to stop them just reeks of facilitation by the Authorities. The Scottish Government’s response in the aftermath was reactive to public opinion and frankly, inadequate. The scenes in Armadale yesterday of Hun Hordes taking over the streets again with their fireworks and smoke bombs have probably been replicated elsewhere. The Police van in the queue of traffic might have had a reasonable, legitimate operational reason for leaving the queue of traffic, and everyone else to wait for the hordes to permit access to elsewhere in the town but the optics (to use a current expression) were not good for Police Scotland at a time when it looks like every rule in the fucking book is being bent to accommodate one entitled section of society over EVERYONE else! We’ve now got the KILL ALL TAIGS graffiti emerging in our wee town, which was always a Hun Hotbed but this kind of stuff was always bubbling under the surface, never as visible or as blatant as it is today.
Celtic and our fans have always been treated differently from them. Legal protests have seen fans ‘kettled’ and hit with Police batons/ariel whips. Fans groups have been illegally stopped from protesting by Police Scotland while the OO play the victim card whilst spitting on a Parish Priest and elderly parishioners. The filming of Celtic fans at games under the OBFA led to fans being arrested at their homes at 6am for singing a song at a football match, meanwhile the Up To Our Knees mob have full voice in a packed Ibrox stadium with no punishment, no penalty! The current outrage and noise about the Racism directed at Kamara, and also Moreorless this morning, is absolutely the right thing to do but there’s no way I’m accepting it from a mob who appear to write their own rules about behaviour. They can do one as far as I’m concerned until they get their own Big Hoose in order.
And where are Celtic in all of this? Silent as usual. Celtic bring a huge amount of money into Scotland and Glasgow. They are a main employer in an impoverished area. They should have incredible clout in decision-making not only for their own local environment but also for the wider concerns of their fans but we never hear them stick up for us. The Rangers Board moan about everything they can, it is easy to ridicule them but their pettiness is effectiveness. (Just as an aside at this point, the Ibrox Complex, across the road from the stadium is currently a Covid Vaccine Centre! They are renting out their facility to the NHS whilst their fans are ignoring every guideline that’s designed to protect us from Covid! This mob just don’t do irony…but remember they’re being facilitated by Police Scotland and ScotGov!) Celtic should be screaming from the rafters about the double standards at play in every aspect of being a Celtic fan in this wee country. Instead of refusing to take the knee yesterday, Celtic could have insisted they will continue to take it in solidarity with everyone who still thinks it is worthwhile making the point. They could at the same time have highlighted the irony of the Up To Our Knees mentality still permitted at their place. There’s never been a better time for Celtic to make their voice heard. There appears to be a real and present danger of a return to the We Are The People mentality. This is not good for Scotland. The years from 2012 till now have largely kept these people quiet, our successes have been the catalyst but this League success has empowered them and it doesn’t look like their bigoted attitudes have been tempered by what should have been a time of reflection for them. These feckers are back and we need to stand strong against them or we will pay heavily for it!

McCaff
That was a brilliant post. You summed up my feelings exactly.
Unfortunately our own have facilitated the resurgence of the hun hordes.

I am honestly of the opinion that we only seemed to be playing better, in wee patches, yesterday because Der Hun wasn’t 100% up for it. Irrespective of their support wanting them to pump us. Perhaps they were on ‘a downer’ or were tired after being knocked out of Europe or maybe the inevitable psychological ‘foot off the pedal’ kicked in because the league was won. None of them was busting a gut, and sadly neither were we. I do agree they were there for the taking and yet we failed to do so, again poor tactics and players just really not trying. Aye, ‘shooting ourselves in the foot ‘ has become an all too regular feature of our play this season.

Óglach

Oglach
In any other league, that is a penalty and red card for Barisic. Said that on first view. Stand by that initial reaction.
He lunges in, out of control, nowhere near the ball, endangered Edouard’s safety, and prevented a clear goal scoring opportunity.
Penalty and Red Card.
Collum is a fuckin wee cheat.

McCaff

Oglach/Garry…interestingly, the view that Dermot Gallagher says is the ref’s view, that he had the best view, is not correct, in one of the replays Collum is clearly seen bending round a player to see what’s happening/happened!
Dermot Gallagher’s another lying Orange Bassa!! 🤣

Seeing the hordes out again over the weekend makes me glad I chose to get the hell outta Dodge 25 years ago. I recall walking back through Glasgow with BMCUWP after a match in the early 80s, with my scarf round my neck, bothering no one. We started crossing a road in the town centre, and had to jump out of the way of a car which sped up as it approached us. BMCUWP reminded me that crossing a road wearing a Celtic scarf was always a dangerous activity.
Fast forward 30 years, and I’m back in Glasgow, this time with my son, in Central Station after a Europa League game. Decided to nip into the bar for a pint before getting the train home, and we’re immediately confronted by a foul-mouthed woman, calling us Fenian bastards, Taig c#nts (we’re none of these, neither Fenians, bastards, Taigs or c#nts). Swiftly told to do one, she told us she’d set “her man” on us. Off she went, had a word with a bloke who stood up to see who he had been set on, quickly sat back down when he saw us (we’re both over 6 ft tall, neither of us shrinking violets). My son had never experienced this before, having spent all but the first 7 years of his life in Essex.
Compare this nonsense with down here, where we have no issues going anywhere wearing the hoops. We don’t get anyone wanting to make an issue of it. Only the local pubs don’t let us in with the hoops on, but in their defence, they don’t let anyone in wearing any club colours.
It’s shameful that we’ve had to move 400 miles to be able to wear our club’s colours without fear of some arsehole needing put in his place. Looking at how they’ve all crawled out from under their stones back home, I’m saddened that they’ve become emboldened and the forces of government and law and order are the ones facilitating the emboldening.
I’m often asked if, now that Mrs Kitts and I are nearing retirement, would we move back to Scotland. You know the one, sell the over-priced Essex pad and buy a mansion in Scotland. The answer is no, and if anyone needs to know the reason why it was parading in Armadale at the weekend, it was destroying George Square, it marches through every town in July, it glories in songs of massacring people because they have a different religion to them (not that many of them would recognise the inside of a church), it practises racism against black players from the safety of their stands and the anonymity of the internet, it goes to games looking for a fight, and God help any town or city they’re in if they lose. Why would I want to go back to that?
