Dynamite Puff! Panfried chicken, wedges with garlic and rock salt and some spiced rice! All cooked from scratch by my calloused arthritic hands. A wee glass of San Miguel and a bottle of cheap as shit red on the table and dinner’s a good ‘un!! Slept it off and decided to see who was still up…MikeInTVLawyerland and your good self ever present! This won’t help your blues Mike but it’s a good tune by Scottish singer songwriter Rab Noakes…

McCaff

Yeah Mike, brilliant start to a song but too contrived for this wee Govan Gadgie…give me the straightforward riff and a couple of top hat rolls and I’m happy…

puff puff

Sounds like a fun night with good food and family …tunes ar great by the way .

McCaff

This has a real 80s Indie feel, I don’t know anything about them but heard this on Sunny G a couple of weeks ago…not the best sound but give it a try…

McCaff

Some nice plucking in this Dylan cover, I hope you like this Puff…

puff puff

Brilliant that .

mccaff

roll it over… what a great pop song!

reminds me of the lucksmiths… go betweens.. plus lots of others … love jangly melodic pop … am going now to look them up

Mike in Toronto

got the Lucksmiths going through my head now

McCaff

This song must be 20 years old – maybe more – but this version by Nana’s favourites changes it completely…

MikeInTVLawyerland…Sunny G is a charity radio station based in Govan. It gives people with issues a wee chance to regain their lives. A lot of their shows are repeated/prerecorded, some of them are extremely amateurish but occasionally you get a show that just seems to play everything yo want to hear. That’s when I heard Model Village!

Mike in Toronto

McC … do you know if they can be accessed on the internet?

was just reading an interesting article … , Kevin DeBruyne employed an analytics company to compare various teams by looking at their rosters, and projecting how the players and teams will develop, in deciding whether or not to re-sign with Man City.

McCaff

I would doubt very much if you could but….

McCaff

A quick YouTube search brings up a few Sunny G so if you have patience you might find something worthwhile. Be warned though…there is a lot of shite broadcast by them! A wee example (not of the shite, just how to access it!!)…

McCaff

MikeInTVLawyerland…data analysis is something I’m interested in. I was doing work for an ex-RFC player who has started work with an analytics company, similar to OPTI (the company who are foremost in the business). Also my daughter’s pal’s brother is a Maths graduate/tennis champ who was involved with the data analysis at Wimbledon. He was lined up to start a job with a major company – until lockdown hit!
The only team able to fulfil DeBruyne’s potential WITHOUT RISK is Bayern. I think his style suits them and they are probably the most stable Club in the world, in my opinion of course!

Mike in Toronto

I guess KdB thinks Man City will do ….

I like that Chris Anderson song…

McCaff

…for £300K a week I suppose they would!! 🙄

McCaff

Yeah the Chris Anderson song was good, he’s got another couple on YT worth a listen. In the meantime I ended up listening to a Sunny G ‘Straight Outta Glasgow’ 45 minute set…not recommended!

McCaff

…and this came up on my sidebar…

The Psychedelic Furs are playing Glasgow in September, all being well, at £33 a ticket I’m not sure I’m that invested! I’ll speak to the missus and see if she fancies a few swallies at a gig, a bag of chips after and the all night bus hame for auld times sake!! 😉🤣

McCaff

I’m guessing you’ll like this, Mike…

puff puff

Seen China crisis back in the day

Mike in Toronto

loved the CC song. and loved Furs’ Ghost in You

hear Neymar is on 500,000 per week, so KdB is a bargain!

McCaff

300 was a plucked figure…his new contract, wherever he goes, will probably put him in the Top 5 in the world. That’s why his agents pay attention to the data.

McCaff

I saw them too Puff…I think supporting Simple Minds at the Barras? Garry is theman to confirm or deny that I think!

McCaff

This China Crisis song is really evocative of a period in my life. I can easily link it to a story involving Ian Durrant but not on a public forum!!

Mike in Toronto

KdB recently signed an extension until 2025 … did it without an agent!

McCaff

Ah well…I’ll just shut the feck up then!!

puff puff

Sign in as bible John and tell us the story …n

Bible John

😳

Mike in Toronto

only 300,000 per week … feel bad for the poor bugger!

that’s what happens when you dont hire a lawyer!

puff puff

You told us that story back in the day when you had a few .

Bible John

Big Jim Packy-style true story coming right up…
the cops couldn’t find Bible John, had no idea who he was. Descriptions varied from people who claimed to have seen him in the dancing. His dental records matched a few guys in Glasgow, my old man being one of them. The cops came to the house one night as my old man was coming home from work. As was usually the case, my old man had a plastic carrier bag with a couple of skirts in it (he was a dressmaker/pattern cutter for a top designer in Glasgow). The cops thought they had their man, my old man was taken down to Orkney Street Polis Station and questioned about his whereabouts on such and such a night etc etc. Obviously he was released but it was a scary time for him and my old dear!!

Bible John

puff puff

Brilliant story.

puff puff

Looking like McCaff kitchen tonight making dinner .

Bible John

I don’t know if it’s true or not but my old man told me it was!

puff puff

Do you still have any clothes that yer dad made that you still wear.

McCaff

I saw Sparks and Franz Ferdinand in the Barras a few years back…what a show! Poor sound on this but what a gig…

McCaff

No Puff…he didn’t make too much for me, unfortunately. I used to go into Cruise in Glasgow in the 80s and buy trousers at £100 plus, take them back to my old man to take the hem up or whatever, he would always say “How much did you pay for these, they’re garbage, I could make you a pair for a next to nothing!” I never, ever told him the price of anything I bought.
He was very good at his job, one of the best in Glasgow, and he worked for a top Glasgow designer who was the Scottish equivalent of Mary Quant. I’ve spoken to guys over the years who knew him and his work and had a lot of good things to say about him. There used to be a cabinet on display in the new Museum of Transport which had a couple of pieces that my old man had made, and he also did a couple of bits for an exhibition in the People’s Palace in Glasgow Green.

puff puff

Sweet story man . Sounds like an interesting life your old man had .

Mike in Toronto

well, lads… I’m off to my bed… enjoyed the music and the chat. Good night.

McCaff

I don’t think so, he was just a wee guy who did his stuff then boozed and betted! He has a bit of a legacy that’s worth remembering and talking about but at the end of the day he was just a wee guy doing his stuff! My wife holds a great affection for him as he made a couple of nice bits for her, including her wedding dress and the bridesmaids’ dresses. He was just my nuisance da!! 😉😁

McCaff

Cheers Mike…I’m glad I stayed up tonight. Got a full day tomorrow and will regret this but…

puff puff

Sleep well mit

McCaff

puff puff

Get to bed McCaff…yer working tomorrow

McCaff

Half a can to go then I’m off to my scratcher…if it’s dry tomorrow I’ve got a busy day in my garden. If it’s raining I think I’ll try to find some mates in a beer garden somewhere!

McCaff

Back to intros…nice bass and keyboard intro for this 90s toon…

puff puff

Bed time good night man ..all Tim’s

McCaff

…and I’ll leave you with a bit of Christy Moore, one of my favourite Christy Moore songs, play this as loud as you can…

McCaff

Good night, Puff D…I enjoyed your company as usual. Keep well, sleep well and stay safe! HH
