Night And Day
Morning,all.
Last night’s result might have looked,at first glance,as a somewhat perfunctory one-given that we were two up from the first leg. Don’t be fooled. This was a very good team that we were up against,as witnessed by the fact that even when they were five goals behind on aggregate, they never gave up.
They certainly caused us a few problems on the night, and if we think back a year,we would probably have conceded two or three and almost certainly wouldn’t have got the goals that we did.
Truly it was like night and day.
For the first time since 7/03/20,almost eighteen months,we had a full house in the stadium. That day we beat a decent St Mirren side 7-0-which would have been a lot more were it not for their goalkeeper. Coincidentally,he is a Czech too! Last night,we could easily have doubled our tally-but also lost a few too!
While David Turnbull probably deserved his MOTM award, given his two goals,I thought that CalMac was in outstanding form. Tom Rogic too looked back to his best-those two players in particular really struggled under Neil Lennon-and Greg Taylor on the left was always available, always covering, whichever was required.
Our central defenders? I think we have a partnership there already. Welsh has impressed me from Day One-though he wasn’t being compared to much at the time! Starfelt really looks the part too,and I’m confident that these two can provide the stability at the back that the midfield needs in order to concentrate on a more offensive role.
And in Joe Hart-who made a couple of tremendous saves-there is a confidence that a shot on goal,or even a cross into the box, will not be a goal.
As I said,night and day.
Yes,it was 3-0 on the night and 7-2 on aggregate. That hides the simple fact that Jablonec are clearly a very good team. We can take a lot of encouragement from the ease with which we dispatched them, and we can take a lot of encouragement too from the performances over the last week or so. These players now look as though they are footballers, and hungry for success. The difference in their performance compared to last year is to their credit-but more so to AP.
I COULD HAPPILY WATCH THIS TEAM FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON IF THEY PLAY LIKE THEY HAVE DONE IN THE LAST WEEK.
But yet-I don’t think AP will be happy!
When he IS happy,we are in for a real treat!!!

Auldheid, if you don’t mind me suggesting can you avoid meeting your sister at the Gareloch please? Glasgow sounds a bit safer. And you have much to do.
This is only for me and any MUSIC LOVERS!
Wait for the movement from the minor key to the major key. (Modulation) Skin tingles.
This is the music I will hear when I’ve spent my 5 minutes in Purgatory and enter Heaven. (Please God. D.G.)

If there is a nuclear explosion at Faslane. All of us in West Dunbartonshire and Argyll and Bute, will evaporate in seconds. It is the Fall Out Bhoys I would feel sorry for. 😊
I love Vangellis Jim.
That was simply gorgeous.
JTT53
That is bookmarked for me for forever listening.
Thank you for posting it. 👍💚
GARRY
A certain pal of mine has spent almost all of his life within about six miles of various nuclear power plants. That’s what I attribute his rosy glow to!
Garry, there are many threats out there, I wouldnae be worrying about Nuclear stuff in Ecosse.
From a UK Standpoint and the threat from Russia/China that is alledgedly out there. Not so sure the Russians are bad but the hard Communist Regime that controls how many? its a Globalists dream having us plebs under that CCP rule IMO.
BMCUW
Those Ready Brek adverts in the 70s scared the shit out of me. Awe they glowing weans. Just as we were being taught in school about the Cold War and Nuclear Arms and Hiroshima.
Everytime a plane flew low over Knightswood to land at Glasgow Airport, I would shite maself, thinking it was a nuclear bomb. Still not quite got over that phobia. Why I joined CND at 12.
Still a member 44 years later.
Petec
The Bob Marley line in Redemption Song about nuclear weapons not stopping time. Soothed me as a child. Still does. I listen and read prophets like Bob.
The second last song Bob Marley recorded.

Thanks for the tunes bhoys.
I had a pal, who died about 2 years ago, and he was so anti-nuclear he stopped voting Labour after a lifetime and started voting SNP because (I think) they would get rid of Faslane in an Independent Scotland.
JTT53
I vote Scottish Greens for 3 reasons.
Independence Party.
Want Faslane transferred to Portsmouth.
Want to legalise Marijuana, tax it to boost the Scottish economy. The Young Team in Scotland are expert horticulturists. That last policy would definitely work. We would be exporting our MaryJane to England wi oor Whisky. 😁
Garry, LOL 🙂
Jim
We already are exporting vast quantities of MaryJane south of the border and to Ireland. Only the ‘Glasgow Businessmen’ are reaping the profits though. The Greens want a bit of this multi million pound Scottish Business.
The remote Highlands are where it is being cultivated in huge quantities. Your classic Scottish Cottage Industry. 👍
Garry, Talking about taxing legalised Marjuana, I was talking to an auld mate tonight who is in the fortunate position that his retirement pensions are taxable. He hates it!
I was saying I dont have to pay tax on my pensions. But I pointed out that I pay VAT on a whole host of things. My shopping, Gas & Electricity bills. Phone, BT, etc. Then there is the VAT & DUTY on drink, fags & Petrol. Road Tax.
I probably hand back over at least £ 200 from my £712 State pension. And still pay my rates on top of that!
JTT53
That is a scandal in 2021.
You are on the poverty line sir.
That is totally unacceptable. You have grafted all your years for a pittance.
We need The Revolution soon.
Not quite Garry I have a couple of wee company pensions that pay the direct debits. I’m Ok. My wee flat is bought & paid for.
That was hard to read … glad it ended well.
Puff puff are you in Canada?
Yes Jim west coast . Vancouver / Frazer Valley
I think I remember when you first came on. I got mixed up about where you were. And I told you I had been to Nova Scotia. 🙂
Hehehe .. I remember that.
Me ..never been to Nova Scotia but definitely on my list.
From a Distance
Nanci Griffith
From a distance the world looks blue and green
And the snow-capped mountains white
From a distance the ocean meets the stream
And the eagle takes to flight
From a distance there is harmony
And it echoes through the land
It’s the voice of hope, it’s the voice of peace
It’s the voice of every man
From a distance we all have enough
And no one is in need
There are no guns, no bombs, no diseases
No hungry mouths to feed
From a distance we are instruments
Marching in a common band
Playing songs of home, playing songs of peace
They’re the songs of every man
God is watching us, God is watching us
God is watching us from a distance
From a distance you look like my friend
Even though we are at war
From a distance I can’t comprehend
What all this war is for
From a distance there is harmony
And it echoes through the land
It’s the hope of hopes, it’s the love of loves
It’s the heart of every man
It’s the hope of hopes, It’s the love of loves
It’s the song of every man

This is what I’ve been trying to say all night.
Puff puff, I loved it. I stayed in Little Germany. A funny name for a place in ‘New Scotland’ ! Not far from Halifax. Lovely people.
East coast people are the salt of the earth.
Puff puff there aren’t many pubs. Instead people have parties at the drop of a hat. Every week there is a garage party or a pool party etc. for any reason! The wimin phone each other to organise who is bring which food stuff. The men bring the drink!
That’s a perfect example of the east coasters.
You’ve got me all nostalgic!
Far out
My guess is you live closer to new Scotland than I do.
My God is that possible?
2.645 miles flying between Glasgow & Halifax
Guessing its about a 6 hour flight for me coast to coast ..Mr goggle McCaff could answer that.
Where’s your nearest airport?
VANCOUVER
4,434 km = 2755 miles I can’t believe it I am closer than you!
Canada is so huge and very underpopulated .
The west coast is so spectacular ..oceans and mountains and a million islands .

Weather in Nova Scotia is extreme. Sweltering in summer, really freezing in winter. But they are well prepared and able to cope with both.
My friend was on a teacher exchange so she was there for a year. We were in written & phone contact often.
Puff puff need to go now pal. Was great talking to you. Take care. 🙂
Sleep well Jimthetim ..it’s been a pleasure .
