Something Better Change

Not our best of weekends just gone,as has widely been commented on. Not from me though-I just left it alone. One of those days, etc, how much more crap in our lives do we need?

So it was a pleasure to receive a mail from my best pal which will be the article on Thursday. Same way it has been a pleasure to receive so many recent calls about the absence of one of our posters. When I say that it is a pleasure,I mean that it is a pleasure to know that so many people care.

What is not a pleasure though is that I have no answers. GARRY,get on the end of your phone!

So,the mail from SOLKITTS. And then,if you think about it,the associated f…..g rank cheating from the referee for the Rangers goal. SOLKITTS was a senior referee in his neck of the woods down south, but his job paid much more. No way he was taking the route to Grade One. He doesn’t come from “a traditional Celtic background”,and that applies to many of our posters.

But he knows a cheating bastert when he sees one.

That decision,so many decisions over the years, should there be a compliance officer for referees? Of course there should.

There isn’t.

Same as there seems to be an unlikely number of UEFA observers at Rangers games who come from Northern Ireland, there seems to be an unlikely number of referees who come from “a traditional Rangers background”

So of course there should be a version of the Compliance Officer for referees, same as there is in England. But it won’t happen. The last time anyone kicked up about how crap they are, they went on strike!

Can we complain about an opposition player taking nearly two minutes over a free kick when we don’t complain about a striker being halfed in two,or a clear penalty turned down? Well, not if we don’t stand up and f…..g do it!

Given SOLKITTS background,if he was to retire back to Scotland and apply to the SFA as a refereeing supervisor, they would probably assume-“One of us,got all the credentials”. They would be in for a shock of course, that man will call things as he sees them.

No fear nor favour.

Unless we get a Compliance Officer in place for the referees,we can throw no fear or favour out of the window.

Good read Bobby, as someone said last week, the most corrupt people, are the people at the top.

The time wasting on Sunday was and absolute disgrace and no players complaining was another disgrace.

We need to start surrounding the referees at every opportunity.

I watched a bit of the first half of Barcelona-Granada last night. The visitors scored after 2 minutes. Thereafter they were allowed to indulge in the same extravaganza of time-wasting as Livingston on Sunday and I chucked it after 20 minutes (Barcelona were dire, btw). It really needs UEFA or FIFA to introduce a strict time limit on re-starts from goal kicks, throw-ins &c and some measures to deal with deliberate interruption of play via goalies in possession falling needlessly to the ground, phantom cramps after 10 minutes, feigning injury after committing fouls &c. No stopwatch data to confirm this, but I estimate that the 20 odd minutes I watched had over 3 and a half minutes dead time. Presumably it got worse as the match progressed…

Highlights listed by Bankier include finishing second in SPFL.

My personal highlights were

1) “ Over the transfer window, post year end, we successfully accomplished a major overhaul of our playing squad.”

2) “ Celtic PLC is directed by a Board of individuals with demonstrable experience both of Celtic and wider business, its operations are managed by an executive team of talented specialists led by our Chief Executive and the executive is supported by a dedicated cast of colleagues who have worked tirelessly for the Club over this most difficult financial year. I thank them all for everything that has been achieved. Celtic is in good hands.”

Everything you say on this is spot on. It’s an admirable shout, but unfortunately, you are screaming in the desert buddy….farting in the Mistral.

The one time we, or more accurately, Lenny, spoke up about cheating refs. He was proved correct then the bassas went on strike!

A few games with foreign refs then straight back to square (sic) one. Nothing changed.

If clubs are going to accept status quo on refereeing, it’s debilitating impact on the standard and quality of football we watch here… that’s before the obvious and systematic corruption involved …then that’s just how it’s going to be.

Our club stand bye and watch players being smashed and results corrupted, weeks in and week out. They do nothing because it suits their purpose.

50,000 Celtic fans directly endorse this state of affairs season after season. Almost like they like it up ’em….

It’s just the way things get done here ….and after all…it’s just a gemme…

Give me some funding and I’d bring in a Refereeing leader and recruit 50-100 Grade 1 match officials from other European countries- they would be up and running by next season and they would be monitored by an independent watchdog.

The standard of the game would improve in 3-5 seasons. In 10 seasons when all the existing cloggers have hung up their boots. We could be a top notch footballing nation.

The existing match officials? Free to apply and be considered and assessed…. and subject to weekly monitoring.

The costs are already in rhe existing system. Match officials would find homes and work here and some would be taking existing Full-Time posts.

Initial Consultation and Start-up costs including Redundancies and Separation costs of existing staff, plus new VAR and drug testing would be an additional cost … all paid by a levy on our representatives in Europe ( prize money.)

We would have interviews and selection in place by Christmas. Key Appointments in January, new infrastructure in place and running by August 2022.

It’s really not that difficullt to manage the process.

Fixing all the torn coupons… who cares?

September 21, 2021 10:50 am

You’re on form this morning. England have just recruited a referee from Australia so it’s not that it can’t be done. It’s that it won’t be done because of our peculiar acceptance that the footballl we play is perfectly ok. See Livingston game on Sunday and the Dundee derby the same day for the most recent examples. It’s shit but a lot of supporters don’t want it to change. They love the blood and snorters stuff.

One of the ways to combat the time-wasting would be to have a separate official who stops the clock every time the ball goes out of play and show the time clock on the stadium screen, No need then for injury time as the full 90 would be played every game, por cierto.

Moving to a ‘stop the clock when the ball’s not in play’ system would work fine. There must now be more than enough data to work out, on average, how much time the ball is actually in play. Let’s assume it’s, say 70 minutes. Then all we do is move to a system where it’s 35 minutes OF ACTUAL FOOTBALL in each half, stopping the clock every time it goes dead. 3pm games would still likely finish at 4.45. Simples 😉

Good morning folks.
Quick pre work pop in.

Hope Garry is okay, take care pal.

An Ozzie ref in England should mean our own refs ranks can be boosted by foreigners?
We can but dream, Alba is very scenic and could tempt a few whistlers from other climates.

60m turnover, but made ten million on trading.
Celtic in good hands.
We could double that turnover with a bumper year. That should be the very bare bones bottom line, hit only due to Covid, and never seem again. They other mob pull in around that amount, we should be asking that, always aiming for nine figures.

Up the Hoops.
Have a good day everyone

Mr Ian Banker, if you’re reading this, can you please shove your recent statement, where the sun don’t shine. You are a parasite. A liar. A coward…and that’s only your good points. You couldn’t even spell certain players names correctly, FFS. Go now, you snivelling little rat.

Speaking of snivelling rats, I see that the leaks from Lennoxtown, have started up again. Is this the same character that was leaking team lines last year, therefore giving an advantage to our rivals? This is deliberate sabotage…the culprit must be caught immediately.

This year’s AGM should see a few sparks flying. Betcha the board are pushing for this, to be heard remotely.

Hail Hail.

September 21, 2021 5:06 pm

The account statement is just another F-U to the fans from DD and his fellow plunderer’s.
Scottish football and society won’t change unless it’s forced to.
Scotland when it goes begging to be let into Europe will be forced to confront it’s sectarian and racial bias but like other European countries Poland and Hungary for example not too much.
Scottish football may act only if the money is threatened and even then it would have to be a cataclysmic scenario.
Too many love a free lunch and turkeys don’t vote for Christmas.
Zero accountability will be continued for match officials and with bigots like Dallas in charge of uefa refereeing it will remain.
The character of the sleekit, sniggering hun that permeates the ruling classes in Scotland does not have an issue with cheating as long as the outcome is in their favor.
We can moan and advocate for honesty but when the biggest sleekit’s fill our board nothing will change.
Even the much lauded Fergus took the payoff over the Farry scandal when he had the chance for real change by involving UEFA to sort out a corrupt organization .
UEFA would have acted for fear of their whole corrupt cabal being exposed and repercussions for their entire criminal enterprise.
Farry was allowed to retire with a payoff and pension for his services.

Pundits in studio at Liverpool v Norwich obviously not got the script on Billy Gilmour from MSSM as they point to him for losing his man who scores at corner.
He has had two good passes but also has that habit of running with ball then passing when he could have released earlier when player had more space.
Those two good passes would have been described as world class by MSSM.
He looks a good player but is nowhere near the status the MSSM have bestowed on him.

September 21, 2021 10:32 pm

Must admit Chicken Noodle soup is very popular here, almost a staple, comfort food if you will.
I’ve no idea why. This place is mostly hot as,,,yet that soup is really popular?
Don’t start me on food,,,I’ve just bought British style bangers to try.

A story I heard or read claimed Kellogg’s invented the saying ‘Breakfast, it’s the most important meal of the day’ after WW2 to boost sales. I’ve never seen corn growing in Ireland, yet most houses ended up with corn flakes, go figure.
Btw if you ask Keano what’s the most important meal he would instantly answer yesterday’s,,what you ate yesterday set you up for today. Pasta and fish day before a game for Roy.
Now even after retirement the bassa won’t put on weight even though very fond of a chocolate biscuit. I envy folk like that.

I have a relative in law worked for Kraft, a huge food company that probably make your mayonnaise (couldn’t live without it).
When they introduced a Guinness BBQ sauce she told me the kegs had to have their own CCTV camera installed, kept going empty quicker than the recipe called for.
They do like the black stuff here, no matter how bad.

Speaking of bad wtf is corned beef and cabbage, apparently an Irish staple. Turns out it’s from NY. Dont ever go near it folks.
If in the states you eat a steak, a burger, Mexican or Asian. That’s it.
They think they have the best steaks, the beef is very pale and sweet because it ate corn all it’s life.
Our steaks put them to shame, but then because they don’t travel they won’t find out.

Once the soil isnt rock hard I’m digging myself a deep pit for cooking food in.
You lay a bed of big rocks couple of feet then wood then paper, no ignitors.
Light that and for six hours feed the fire wood only, nothing else.
After six hours, some wait eight, you put in your food, which is wrapped in a damp bedsheet and then chicken wire.
Whole chickens, pork loins, potato’s, leg of lamb, a whole smallpig, carrots etc
Fill the hole with the dirt you dug out.
The heat of the rocks cooks the food slowly, while the flavour of the earth gets soaked up, and it’s a unique flavour, really good.
Six to eight hours later dig up that food and enjoy.
That patch will actually get your feet sweating if you stand there, and there’s the occasional aromatic steam burst from the ground.
The Maouri people do them best imo. Don’t mess with them, big big folk naturally. Invented trench warfare, but Captain Cook had guns so he won, the bassa.

ATOB, aye, back to the grind. Mostly good so far, hours suit me which is nice.

Viva the King, 50 today what a legend. Privileged to have watched him live.

Hail Hail
