Being There
Morning,all.
Wednesday night was a sore one for us all,and there is little doubt about it. It certainly was for me,as I sat with my family in Irvine CSC uttering barely a word other than a muttered ffs under my breath. Actually,I probably did more than mutter, and probably more than once.
If I’m honest though,I couldnae be bothered to give it tight to the players. One of those nights, too many players having an off night, and they knew it. Nothing I could say was gonna change things.
What concerned me was firstly that nothing that AP could say was gonna change things either. What worried me more was his lack of options available to do just that.
Maybe he could have made some use of Euan Henderson, maybe sent on Shaw a bit earlier, realised that we had problems up front and that our mids were having a nightmare. I dunno. He is not an idiot, far from it. I trust him to get things right, from the tools available to him.
How many tools were available to him on Wednesday? He made use of as many as he could, but to no avail. We are considerably further forward in our development than we were this time las year. We cannot follow a manager while ignoring his faults and wilfully being blind to them, and I get that. But MCCAFF raised a good point yesterday, one which many of us have pointed out before.
How many of us wrote this season off about a year ago? How many reckoned that we would be lucky to be ready for even next season, given the rebuild required?
AP is not to blame for Wednesday night, given the paucity of that squad. That blame lies elsewhere. And with the announcement of Michael Nicholson as CEO for the foreseeable future, there’s the man who needs to get his finger out and support our manager.
Needs to report to his board and explain exactly why that is necessary. Does he have a choice, not that I think so?
AP has a hard job to undo the failures of the past, but we already know that he is working hard on these things. Michael Nicholson has an even bigger job to overcome past failures. I knew less about AP six months ago than I do about the faceless Michael Nicholson. But we need them to work together, even if past experience between those positions suggests otherwise.
I’m happy to give AP his time to work things out,and I think we need to cut Nicholson the same slack. And I bliddy hope they both get it right bliddy damn quick!

Michael Nicholson lied his arse off to the res12’rs at Lawwell’s behest.
Since the Huns need the money I will claim now; Xmas eve, that the season is fixed as far as the title is concerned
Where are all the Tims.
Just you Tim Horton
No Tim’s on here tonight tim .
We don’t have any fit CF,could we not bring back one that is on loan or give the big lad Dawson a chance.
I fear for Sunday it will be much the same and Johnstone and Abada will not do.Side to side isn’t going to do it and believe me we have to win on Sunday.
Just like I told you last season
A lot of good things came out of Larkhall
? Name one!
OOps just remembered. the McStays?
Jim
Yes
Thank you
Jim
I’ve played that clip 5 times in the last 10 years. 3 times on CQN before I was finally banned and twice on SC ( thanks Mahe and Bobby) and you are the first one to answer correctly
Glad we agreed on that Mags. I agree with a huge amount of what you say. The problem is not enough folk do.
There is no doubt a mass boycott would work to a helluva degree. But there are at least 50k who won’t even think of it. With 50k reasons.
Different priorities.
Jim
Not happening
Too many Tims too full of hate like I was towards the Huns to understand that they are being manipulated by none other than the Celtic PLC to make money.
nicholson is lawwell’s man.
lawwell has not left the building.
Yes that is true for a lot of supporters. But I dont know their individual histories. On the one hand I hate the orange walks etc & the carry on of the Ibrox fans. But I’ve never experienced religious bias against me at work. I’ve had many friends who were not Catholic. When sevco were in the lower divisions I never missed us playing against them. I wish they had died full stop. No new club resembling them. The old firm is poison.
I studied philosophy for a year with the Open University. I have a wee insight into how philosophers think. Don’t shoot me but there is a philosophical argument that Scotland might be better without BOTH Celtic & ‘Rangers’. I’d love to hear professional philosophers argue the pros and cons to that scenario.
Friend told me last week that Newfoundland has a Orangemans day July 12th holiday.Couldn’t believe it……….looked it up he was correct.😈
Has the clip been removed or Witt.
📫 post the clip.

You been out visiting tonight.
Not visiting tonight mate. Got a ton of stuff to do in my own place before Christmas Day, we’re having family round so got a fair bit of shopping and cooking to do beforehand. I had a couple of wee jobs to do in the summer hoose tonight, a wee repair and a bit of painting. Started cooking pate about 11.00, peeled some taties and started making soup!! Fecking busy, busy!!
This is the first time since 2001 we’ve done dinner at ours on Christmas Day! Need to borrow tables and chairs to fit everyone in!
