Attention To Detail

Attention to detail

I’ll admit we aren’t role models in that department. Between misspelling, getting it wrong on occasion, shoddiness with answering emails, etc etc it’s not a topic the staff at headquarters brag about.

Arsenal supporters on the other hand, are loving it.

Brendan was a details man,,,that little notebook always on hand, quickly checking the timepiece to correctly log whichever ‘event’ caught his eye, he clearly noticed and placed importance upon the small things.

It paid off, big-time. Leader of The Invincibles indeed, I maintain it ranks higher than a mere Liverpool second place, ironically caused by a man who would go on to repeat Brendan’s trick.

He who laughs first and all.

Now hes found a kindred spirit in Mikel Arteta.

Last season he invited the club photographer (and lifelong Arsenal supporter) to give a pre match speech, which helped spur them onto victory over their north London rivals Spurs.

https://www.sportbible.com/afcstuff/arsenal-all-or-nothing-stuart-macfarlane-20220803

Nowadays he’s got his squad training to the opposition fan noise to prepare them for the occasion.

Now that’s attention to detail!

And in nine months we shall know if this approach pays off.

However, that attention also turned to the left back slot. Arsenal have only went and signed not one but two players for that particular berth which our friend Kieran Tierney enjoyed.

Enjoyed being the key word.

KT opened up his heart to the rags and admitted the move hasn’t gone great, his mother had previously expressed reservations, and clearly has other things much bigger than mere football on his mind.

Now call me naive but,,,

when you’re troubled going home is natural,,

your family always has your back and are glad to see you,,

there’s always somewhere that feels like home, and home is where the heart is.

I personally would try and bring him home.

Right now, Bernabei or not.

We might not see the best of him anytime soon, but we all know there’s a player there just waiting to be coaxed out.

And I ask you,,does Uncle Ange not seem the perfect manager to get the bhoy back on track?

There’s zero pressure, we are covered in that department.

The support would once again be fully behind their Bhoy, the past would be merely water under the bridge.

The Prodigal Son returns to be wholly positive and celebrated?

Call me naive, but that’s what I imagine.

It’s a marriage made in heaven.

Look after him, and he will look after us.

Big Charlie Mulgrew coming home didnt work out soo bad,,,there’s surely been others?

The instant I read that news I said to myself make that bid Sellic, which would reignite the support and wipe the smiles of our rivals.

The instant I read that report I said to myself,,bring him home.

Take advantage of Arsenal’s failure to pay attention to detail on that one occasion.

He was born to wear the Hoops.

He produces his best in the Hoops.

He belongs in the Hoops.

For all their details, Arsenal never spotted the one that was staring them in the face.

He’s a Tim and always will be.

And that’s why I want him home.

What say ye?

East Kilbride 1 up v Celtic B.

Mahe

JNP,
Hand on heart I had already penned today’s article, then searched the general football news, only to find that express article.
First thoughts, bring him home.
That was echoed by at least one other poster!
There’s no fishing here, honestly!
I sense a tried young man who could really do with being around friends and (the Celtic) family.
Could do with an arm around the shoulder and support.
He would find both at Parkhead right now, plus having made the big bucks in theory he shouldn’t be out maximize.
But rather appreciate being supported and settled amongst his own who have his back on and off the field.
As such he could regain his mojo and flourish.

I admit Im a Tim alone here without my finger on the pulse but it looks like good business all around from where I’m sitting.

Hope you’re well.
Ps some larger bird keeps spilling my hummingbird liquid by perching on the feeder, it tilts and spills out of the holes.
Sticky patch on the deck.
Ah well.

Packy, remember that really bad winter in the early 60s? The snow drifted into our back garden like you wouldn’t believe. I could WALK over our clothesline. Honest!

JimmynotPaul

Mahe.
At the end of the season, the U.K press were reporting that Real Madrid were considering buying K.T.
Arsenal wanted £50 million!!!
That’s why I thought you were fishing, with the £10 million figure.

Very annoying about the bigger birds, I have a similar problem but it’s feral pigeons.
The Sparrowhawk has taken two of them out now, but they keep returning, for the easy food, that spills from the feeders.
Next door neighbours cat, took out a fledgling, this morning, that was me, grumpy git, heading into work.

Jobo ya bass ….what team you supporting ?

Jobo Baldie

On the ole Lowland League situation, Celtic, Sevco and Hearts are involved but can’t gain promotion. So the other teams just need to be the best of the rest. Essentially, for EK, any points gained against those 3 Big Boys are a bonus. The fixture list for EK was tough, playing all 3 in our first 6 games. Lost to Sevco, beat Hearts and currently beating Celtic tonight. As it stands, a great start.

Jobo Baldie

Voguepunter, EKFC absolutely! Happy for Celtic B to win the League and EK to finish 2nd and get into the promotion play off.

Knew that mate,I want EK to do well too.hh

Knowing what we know now, he’s troubled and doesn’t like London (and for once I agree with TFW it’s a dump), and given he’s been fully replaced by two new high quality left backs there are two realistic options as far as I can see,,,
Go abroad
Come home

Given he’s made bank, coming home is the easiest option and probably for the best all around. London’s huge, and he hated it. Logic tells me he will hate a smaller English city.
Abroad might be nice yes, but theres every chance he won’t settle given he couldn’t down the road.
Foreigners will back off now.

Which leaves home sweet home.

Call me naive, call me a dreamer 😉

If KT hadn’t left Celtic when he did his career could possibly already be over.

I’m 62 and in all my years of watching Celtic I’ve never seen a player so systematically fouled. The opposition were literally lining up to do him. I’d estimate that 50% of the time KT played a ball down the wing he’d be taken out after the ball had been played away. It was clear to see watching him at CP. On TV much of it was off camera so often missed.

The day it was announced that he was leaving I stated that he’d just prolonged his career by 3-5 years!

I’d love to see him back some day but it would probably be via Madrid or Munich.

‘Do not imagine that anyone is going to save you, or that any institution, party, or famous person is your buddy.

This will not be solved by voting Tory, Labour, Liberal, Green, Democrat or Republican, nor anyone else.

It will not be solved by the old yoyoing from one party to another.

It will not be solved by the new Tory leader, nor by Starmer The Waarmer, nor by Donald Trump, Rick DeSantis or anyone else whose mugs we see constantly shoved to the front of the entire shit show.

It will only be solved by you waking up and saying no to the whole nasty future they have planned for you.

It will be solved by you seeing through the entire web of lies you have been caught up in your entire life, and breaking free of it.

To do that, you have to learn to spot a lie, and if you believe any of the stories in the media—on either side, left or right, mainstream or alternative—you aren’t there yet.

The “news” is manufactured from top to bottom, left to right, front to back, and I no longer believe anything, from the weather report to the sports scores, from the shite spewed in the Daily Hate Mail to the fake ‘leftie’ ‘alternative’ from the joke that once was ‘The Guardian’.

The only way to break the hold of these liars’ lies upon us is to ignore every aspect of their existence and finally open your eyes to see just how deeply asleep you have been for yourself.

Anything less is just a wet sop from a wet nurse for a wet faced impotent baby.’

Gaza City – Israel attacked the besieged Gaza Strip with warplanes on Friday, killing at least 10 people including a commander of the Islamic Jihad group and a young girl.
The health ministry in Gaza said at least 10 people were killed including al-Jabari and a five-year-old girl. At least 55 people were wounded and being treated at hospitals as a result of the Israeli raids.
The five-year-old girl, Alaa Qaddoum, was killed in a missile attack along with her father while they rode a motorcycle to go shopping for groceries.
“Her mother Rasha is in great shock. She lost her daughter and her husband in a blink of an eye and left behind three children. We are all shocked. What is the fault of an innocent five-year-old girl to be killed in this way?” 🙏 🇯🇴

The Leopard’s Rimshot

Here is one take on waking up. Any time I revisit it I ask myself why if I think I’m wise do I try to wake folk up? The folly of wisdom or a natural result of gaining it through experience and wanting to share nature?

On Waking Up

Spirituality means waking up. Most people, even though they don’t know it, are asleep. They’re born asleep, they live asleep, they marry in their sleep, they breed children in their sleep, they die in their sleep without ever waking up.

They never understand the loveliness and the beauty of this thing that we call human existence.

You know, all mystics – Catholic, Christian, non Christian, no matter what their theology, no matter what their religion – are unanimous on one thing: that all is well, all is well. Though everything is a mess, all is well. Strange paradox, to be sure. But, tragically, most people never get to see that all is well because they are asleep. They are having a nightmare.

Last year on Spanish Television I heard a story about this gentleman who knocks on his son’s door. “Jaime,” he says, “wake up!” Jaime answers “I don’t want to get up Papa.” The father shouts “Get up”, you have to go to school.” Jaime says, “I don’t want to go to school .” “Why not?” asks the father. “Three reasons” says Jaime. “First, because it’s so dull; second, the kids tease me; and third, I hate school.

And the father says, “Well, I am going to give you three reasons why you must go to school. First, because it is your duty; second because you are forty five years old, and third, because you are the headmaster. “Wake up! You’ve grown up. You’re too big to be asleep. Wake up! Stop playing with your toys.”

Most people tell you they want to get out of kindergarten, but don’t believe them. Don’t believe them! All they want you to do is to mend their broken toys. “Give me back my wife. Give me back my job. Give me back my money. Give me back my reputation, my success.” This is what they want; they want their toys replaced. That’s all. Even the best psychologist will tell you that, that people don’t really want to be cured. What they want is relief; a cure is painful.

Waking up is unpleasant you know. You are nice and comfortable in bed. Its irritating to be woken up. That’s the reason the wise guru will not attempt to wake people up. I hope I’m going to be wise here and make no attempt whatsoever to wake you up if you are asleep. It is really none of my business, even though I say to you at times “Wake Up!”
My business is to do my thing, to dance my dance. If you profit from it, fine; if you do not too bad! As the Arabs say,

“The nature of rain is the same, but it makes thorns grow in the marshes and flowers in the gardens.”

Err Reo injured plaung against Hibs and will miss the game against Ross county. I think we all saw him being continually fouled by Hibs players with little if any protection from the ref. In fact, one foul was a borderline straight red when a Hibs player deliberately barged into Reo’s back without making an attempt to play the ball, – ref did the sum total of hee haw. Reo then suffered an injury to his mouth after more rough house treatment from Hibs and had to be subbed. Ange said feck all.

A thing of beauty

TFW,
Your point stands but it was Aberdeen we played last week.
Incidentally I have said since the site started that Mahe is a dreamer. I’ve said it here and I’ve said it to his face. He can’t help it and you won’t change him. It’s just how he is. Nothing wrong with dreams I suppose but most of us live in the real world. Such is KT’s injury problems he may end up back at Celtic but that will be the only reason. The way we play football now won’t carry any player that is not 100% fit so there is another issue.
Anyway just my tuppence worth. I am now off to walk the dog. Cmon the hoops.
