Remember, Remember the 5th of November
I’ll say it now, I wouldn’t want to be in the other SPL clubs shoes.
Fate has conspired to leave the Bhoys with domestic affairs only, no other distractions on the horizon at all, and at the start of November with most of the season remaining.
There’s one obvious target.
Cups come and go, but the chance to get straight back into Europe’s top tier is not to be overlooked. Ever.
It’s all guns blazing now for that league title again, everyone knows it. It’s now The Holy Grail, bringing the big bucks and the prestige.
It’s now our sole focus.
We clearly have the manager and squad to become Champions for the second time in a row, a squad which was just boosted by the incredible decision to leave Kyogo and Reo out of the Japanese World Cup squad. That saké must be strong. What a benefit to the team though. It wasnt music to the ears of other managers I imagine.
The PLC was correct to leak out some positive news during the week in my book. Contract extension talks for our Greek striker to take him into his prime, and the very young Israeli winger with potential plus being in negotiations for another arrival from Japan.
The other clubs shouldn’t be.
G-Mak scores a lot of goals in Scotland, while the men from Japan are on another level, literally. They don’t think like Scottish players, aren’t into the physical side of the game, but would rather play actual football which creates problems for opponents and referees. One (Hatate) leads our POTY chart while his compatriot (Furuhashi)leads our scoring charts. Maeda never stops, perhaps that’s why Ange fancies him, while Ideguchi remains a mystery.
Chances are the new chap can play.
Bad news for everyone else but good news for us.
I don’t believe Ange is reactionary,,this CL campaign won’t have convinced him the new player(s) are vital, but rather he recruits good talent while they are available. He has an eye for a player, and a bargain, both of which suits. With Calmac back and a fresh recruit acquired, plus Mooy heading to the World Cup, our midfield has the potential to switch players and style in January. That served us well this time last year when the new guys (Hatate and Matt) slotted in. It should serve us well again.
The manager is clearly building, and given he’s won the league title, there’s little doubt why he builds. Europe.
And how do we get back there guaranteed?
Win the league.
I’m expecting the Bhoys to kick into another gear now. The players will have enjoyed the big stage, many posters did, and shall crave that stage again. If you enjoyed watching it, imagine playing in it? Of course they want it again,,, the home crowd find their voice, one can play in an iconic stadium abroad and even score in the Nou Camp, you’re afforded the opportunity to test yourself against the globe’s best players.
And now we can do it yearly?
Winning the league is the priority across the board. Everyone’s entire goal now.
It’s time to kick some ass.
I really wouldn’t want to be the rest.
