Common sense strikes again

It’s the classic no brainer decision.
Excuse me Sir, would you like to upgrade for the same price or maybe less?
Ange,,,of course.

It was clever all around to have signed Abildgaard on loan with an option to buy rather than a straight sale, this decision has now paid off. Bring in and access, make a decision, it’s all very straightforward.

The decision was indeed made, there’s a rumour he was lacking in fitness and the player was subsequently released back to his parent club.

This opened up the squad space and freed up the wages to move on another option, and move we did.
Tomaki Iwata gets signed by Ange for the second time and it’s very hard to not consider him an upgrade.

Regular squad member with issues versus a league’s MVP player? Easy choice, especially for the same price.
Player ready to be dropped straight into the side versus one who needs to be built up long term? Simples.
Versatility or a single position player from an area that is well stocked? The former of course.

It’s a signing that just screams common sense, the rarest of commodities in the football business, and one which departed our club for a long time but has returned with a vengeance under our new leader.
I can’t wait to see the chap play.

Its about an hour before midnight here i just finished reading yesterday’s blog and have not had time to digest todays. But i had to paste and copy BMCUW story of the dog in the Kilwinning Railway Station, my uncle Eddie was the Station Master there 50 years ago. I pasted the story and sent it to uncle Eddie’s daughter who now lives in Perth Australia LOL
The two i admire the most right now in relation to Celtic. are Ange and Auldheid two great men , great leaders.

I just received a reply from my cousin in Australia and here is a part of her mail to me
The tragedy of the story was that my dad died as the result of running after horses on the rail lines, they had escaped from a field and run on to the line and there were two express Ayr ti Glasgow and Glasgow to Ayr trains due and he was the only person on shift!!!
So I can imagine this happening

Morning all! Tomoki Iwata looks like a Scottish Referee’s dream Celtic centre back – too fast, too aggressive and too good! Watch out for our fouls against and yellow card tally rising!
Jobo’s VARwatch video compilation just got a wee extended version for the second half of the season!

Good morning, friends and Happy Midweek Matchday!
Hopefully following tonight’s game against Hibs the voting numbers will increase back to their usual levels. As usual, the voting will close at 10.00pm tomorrow night but as I have yet another festive gathering with 2 very dear lifelong friends then I think it’s best to delay issuing the results until Friday morning. I don’t want 2 and 2 equalling five!

VAR – I’m sure it’s all been posted but as the next game comes,

4-1 home win completely and totally ravaged by VAR, you couldn’t make it up, even with off the radar gross incompetence. A dreadful referee with and without VAR, Kevin Clowncy bumbled his way through another error strewn 95 minutes. Failing to add VAR or injury time in the first half throughout underlining why he’s rarely if ever allowed to referee a game outside Scotland. The David Turnbull instance which he saw and penalised but didn’t yellow card, was sloped off to the incompetent inexperienced VAR referee, but somehow a red, even by Hamdump standards a shocking decision. They’ve called for reenforcements and we’ve the VAR men for nowhere. Picture the Turnbull simple high boot scenario for a home game elsewhere?

Kyogo and Hatate scored good goals but VAR intruded on the game again and again. Reo Hatate and the supporters suffered especially, in a needless delay that went way beyond normal incompetence, winding a tape back to the game before last, looking for a reason to disallow. Celtic stopped playing around 60 minutes and it was VAR that psychologically affected the players and the support. Kyogo had opened the scoring or so he thought, but without basic goal line technology which apparently Hamdump can’t afford, it was traditionally waved away, no need for a second VAR look, it’s Celtic.

How can you subdue a tanking in Parkhead ? No problem, they did it with aplomb and turned football into a last minute Christmas shopping atmosphere. Embarrassing soul destroying delays even for an incredibly offside St Johnstone goal, that pictures later miraculously deemed onside, but not from when the ball was passed to Stevie May. It should have been reviewed in the first look, but they took too long to juggle the pictures.

AP’s body language was pure ‘face tripping him stuff ‘ and he almost couldn’t wait to get off camera, instead of enjoying another great victory. There is now an agreement with Celtic TV, that VAR questions are off limits. Laugh at VAR at your peril you ain’t seen nothing, it’s not new year yet VAR is the new game changer it’s gathering dust at IBrokes, the statistics do not lie.

If you go into a Celtic bar, or count the internet pages the talk is VAR. I feel sorry for fellow Celtic supporters, if you can’t see and compare the different standard to which Celtic are VAR’d, you’re an uber or just not paying attention.

JOBO POTY Competition…

Pitymevin

Good morning all,

Let me start by stating, I have been brought up to question everything. If people don’t like the question it normally indicates your on to something.

Anyway the point of res12 was to clean out the SFA and hold them to account for suppling a licence to ranger to play in European competitions. NOTHING TO DO WITH RANGERS, BUT THE CHEATING SFA.

This is fact, so please don’t tell me I didn’t understand the reason behind Res12. I was there at the conception and I mean the real conception, the light bulb moment. In the words of the man himself, “the mighty $ is king”

The group were asked to supply evidence and proof of any such wrong doing, to which they did and Celtic in turn decide that this route wasn’t in theri interests.

No one was held to account and I also understand that if any association club takes an association to court then the whole country will be banned from participating in European competitions. The real reason Celtic chose not to persue the SFA and clean up the game in our country.

The SFA can’t hold an internal investigation on itsself, REALLY, if you believe that any company don’t have the capabilities to conduct an internal or external investigations on its processes, you are living a lie and if you are willing to accept this theory, then good for you.

So let me also retort to some or the information that Auldheid has stated himself.

The decision was taken 14 months ago to give the funds to the foundation, so that it didn’t hinder Ange. Less than 4 weeks after this decision was made the board announced that they were going to install Bernard Higgins as their head of security. We all know that this had no bearing on the performance of the team. Did it? Did it really?. FACT.

NEXT

PL was no were near the club and had nothing to do with how the event eventually ended.

Pl had everything to do with the outcome of res12 and this is clear by how the process was handled in the first, second and third instances, so please don’t take me for some type of fool and try and divert the real reason the resolution failed (or was a huge success in some eyes) Didn’t we do well.

Now you are being told by Auldheid to gather more evidence surrounding VAR. And what do you really think will happen with this evidence.

Let’s go back to the start here, to clear out the cheating SFA. The evidence was there, no one was held to account, no one lost there job, no monies were recovered.

Auldheid also states that he decided not to take up a roll within the foundation, this was not Celtics decision, but Auldheid himself.

Again something doesn’t ring true , for such a trouble maker/ rebel to even have the opportunity to be offered a roll within the very organisation that it wants to hold to account. To then decline a roll within, again question everything and believe nothing.

I will let you all make up your own minds and hopefully understand how my empty head works.

keep up the good work with the VAR, it really isn’t a waste of your time. It will change everything.

Anyway nice knowing you all, wasted to much of my valuable time on this spinning orb to even engage anymore.

Night night, and may your god go with you.

Please don’t take my non participation ( most weeks) as neglect! I simply cannot watch Celtic games live on tv . Nerves , anxiety whatever.

If we ever get two goals clear I tend to tune in.

Never been good with emotional control where the hoops are concerned.

My mum used to beg me not to go to the matches v the dark side as she saw how anxious I was becoming days before it.
Weirdly, the only time I ever relaxed at at a match v them was when we went behind! If we were leading, or level, I was all over the place.

Irrational behaviour for sure yet I’m sure I’m not alone!

When I worked in Oxford, an Irish chap I worked with was desperate to go to a match v the dark side. I brought him up with me for one. We were leading 1-0 with about 40 mins to go. I disappeared and returned when we got a second near the end.

On the journey back south he said to me “ I’ve no idea why you go. You hardly seen a ball kicked!”

He was correct of course yet it’s something that I don’t think will ever change for me.

I think from memory the only matches I can recall watching the entire 90 minutes, either at the match or on tv, are the 6-2’s, 5-1’s 4-0’s.

I’m indebted Martin, Brendan and Ange 😁

The Celtic board have their little helpers all over Celtic cyberspace.
These people have been controlling the narrative online since 2012 and before that.
They use their minions to make sure they always know the mood amongst the support.
How do you think they knew enough of us would buy the £50 Sevco tickets.
Let the fans think someone else is challenging the board and they will sit back and do nowt …exactly what transpired.
For those who have mislead the support, claiming to be something they are not, there is a special place in hell waiting for you!

These guys don’t attain these positions by being stupid …they don’t leave things to chance.

The very first time we met Sevco at CP, the match programme said we were playing Rangers.
We all know that is IMPOSSIBLE …so, who advised the printers …us? And who exactly did we play that day?
10 years later and you could still ask the same question, who are we playing against on the 2nd of January?

If you told this story to an outsider, they would think you had lost the plot …and yet!

Just noticed our game is on Sky tonight and not at the bigotdome. Suppose they can’t cover all the hun games😵‍💫

CFC

Sevco begat The Rangers in July 2012. A new club was born.

The definite article making “all” the difference.

Question how that almost identical name change was allowed, not why we called them Rangers in a match programme.

We were playing an entity out of Ibrox, whose staunch fan base didn’t alter.
The fact they are a metaphysical concept doesn’t deter their fans in the stands and in the Media.

Ascribing truth to the reality is a forlorn hope when dealing with those who are immersed in a mindset falsehood.

Pitymevin

They should remember Abraham Lincoln’s famous saying: “You can fool part of the people some of the time, you can fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all the people all of the time,” and take their stand boldly and fearlessly on this question and abide the result at the ballot box.

Would disagree with that, I think they became worse than they previously were. Moreover the weans who grew up only knowing a freak league win and one cup became an intolerant arrogant and exceptionally dangerous mob. A mob given licence by the police/SFA to do what they want with impunity .

Jobo Baldie

Good afternoon, friends.
Having enjoyed a quick scroll back I feel I have to explain my own position on VAR.
After that first game at Tynecastle I decided myself to jot down a few details on a Word document. I decided then that I’d do the same for the next few games, just for my own reference and to perhaps look at in the weeks and months ahead to specifically contradict or back up any claims made by others.
A few weeks ago there was a lot of discussion on here around VAR. And after seeing a few suggestions along the lines of “…hopefully someone is keeping a log of all these mistakes….” I joined in with a “here’s one I prepared earlier….” post and I copied over my document. I stressed that this was just my own take on VAR issues happening during Celtic games.
Bobby asked if he could use it as a separate lead article which could then be developed after every passing game. I agreed even though I wasn’t sure how that format would work – I’ve since included more recent games within the comments section but, again, these are only my own views.
I am certainly not involved in preparing anything more formal and I’d have no wish to do so. If anyone else is considering doing that they dont need my permission to use what I’ve already prepared as a starting point.
I’ll continue to keep my own personal records after each game and no doubt I’ll post them on here. But that’s all it is – comments on a blog.

Pitymevin

Jobo, please don’t get me wrong here, I’m not having a dig at you in anyway shape or form and we all know what lies ahead.

I truly am sorry if you read it that way.

Good afternoon CHAMPIONS!

Seemingly inevitable Josip Juranovic will depart the football club for pastures new, during the transfer window.

It’ll be interesting to see if the player is included in the squad for tonight’s game, not sure if he’s injured or not although Anthony Ralston is rated doubtful due to injury.

What I will state is this – any transfer negotiations should be put on hold until after the zombie game – it’s vital that JJ starts said fixture.

The restorative effect of mince n tatties😀

16 roads

JJ can leave with our good wishes if he does his usual on Kent.
A move to a top club in a top league for significant millions is win win.
We are seen as a serious club where overlooked talent can flourish and the bigger leagues take notice, and potential talent can see a career path.
Sad as that is, it is our reality.

16 road's

Furthermore the £8million fee being mentioned is an insult, although this figure is most probably made up tripe.

We are all resigned to the fact that JJ will be sold, and a fee in the region of £15million, possibly £20million would be a fair valuation.

I’ll give Lawwell some credit here – if he’s involved in the negotiations, you can be certain that the club will get the best deal available.

HH.🍀

16 road's

CFC/Bada – Thanks for the updates.

JJ is an outstanding footballer, hopefully he’s available for the zombie game, and he leaves the club on a high.

CFC

North of £15m should be the target and would set a level only seen previously in sales of players under 25, who would have a resale value 3/4 years on.
JJ is 27 and therefore unlikely to be sold on in 3/4 years in excess of his purchase price.

16 road's

Ralston injured, Juranovic not in squad then it seems Reo will start right back again.

Not sure if Alistair Johnston is in the squad.

Liam Scales could possibly be recalled from loan,he seems to be playing alright at Aberdeen although they are conceding lots of goals.

Ah well suppose we’ll know more closer to kick off.

Looking forward to the game, could be dynamite, can’t stand thon Hibs mob.

Hopefully Celtic demolish them.

If JJ played his football in England, would he be valued at under £20m?
Valuations should be based on a player’s ability, and not on where he plays his football.

BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS

Looking forward to tonight’s game. Hibs had lost seven of their previous eight before thrashing 10 man Livingston on Saturday,so we should be confident of getting the three points. But we should never underestimate Hibs, especially at Easter Road. They have a habit of biting us on the backside, particularly so when BR was in charge.

Last time with the family at Irvine No1 before I hit the road back south next Thursday-members only on Monday, the basterts!-but I’ll expect to be home again around Easter or so. I wanted a 100% return of fifteen points while I was up,and we are on track for that. Plus I’ll be christening a new Celtic jersey tonight,so pull out all the stops tonight,Celtic!

SFTB

First reminder to get tonight’s Superbru predictions in- First set of prizes to be awarded. Will ATOB hold off the challenge of Leggy? Will Ayrshire Tim hang on to 3rd place prize money from half a dozen challengers? Will Apple’s prognosticating dug propel him further up the table? Will Craig76 catch up with the other stragglers?

All this and more will be answered in the next 5 hours and, so long as Celtic win, we’ll all be too happy to notice.

BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS

JOBO

I know what you are saying, but IMO there is no more pressing an issue at the moment for Celtic than the abuse of VAR procedures since its introduction up here.

Witness the delays for no apparent reason to check our goals on Saturday alone. This might be the latest bright idea,as it halts our momentum and gives the opposition a chance to catch their breath and regroup. Even one of the St Johnstone players pointed out how that worked for them on the day.

Your initial compilation provides a basis for our concerns, and hopefully others will add to the list on the dedicated pages. Though ideally of course there would be no need!

ASWGL

The RES12 website has a huge amount of reading within it, and to most Celtic supporters (I assume rightly or wrongly) it’s content is unfamiliar, personally I found it hard to keep up with, reading and referring back to certain chapters and rules. That being said I tip my hat in admiration for the ones responsible for detailing it all, as a full and complete reference.

One point I fail to understand is, reading through it, and consequently hearing comments, that it was never about punishing Rangers, but it was aimed at the SFA, as I understand it Rangers at the time cheated when they lied about their tax dues (payables) and the SFA knowingly overlooked the payables, ergo should not have been given a licence to compete in European competition, this subsequently displaced Celtic of playing in Europe that year and any monetary gains.

On a pure layman’s terms, that does not make much sense, that seems akin to me willfully and maliciously breaking a players leg in a game and the referee overlooking the foul play, then the victim goes after the referee to change referee accountability, and not the thug who broke the players leg, so I can understand the angst of Pitymevin’s posts, surely it should have been about holding both of them to account.

I see nothing that holds either the SFA or Rangers accountable for their actions, what I gather has happened is that the FSR will make it harder for the SFA and the entity now playing out of Ibrox to cheat again, nothing more.

Yes, i agree having new tighter rules in place can and should help to have a fairer playing field, but it’s let the two guilty parties away scot free.

Not really justice to the guy with a broken leg is it ?

I hate playing them and love beating them. Let’s face it,for long enough a victory against them was a rarity. Even Gerrard managed to put the mockers on us for a while-as did McLeish initially as well.

Of course I would rather that we didn’t have to play them, that justice had been done and seen to be done in 2012. But we have to deal with reality rather than fantasy, and beating them well and often is a pretty good substitute.

With VAR safely settled in to help disrupt Celtic, in time for Christmas AP will again be without a regular right back in Anthony Ralston. A star midfielder Reo likely to continue in the temporary role from which he managed two fine goals.

Defensively untested by St Johnstone it’ll be a different story verse Hibs at home who’ll be much more attack minded. James Forrest might drop back to the bench to allow a start for Haksabanovic the same maybe in Maeda for Jota with Angeball rotation.

Goal a game again Kyogo will keep Giakoumakis waiting, as Celtic hope to finish off the year nine points clear. Any three points will do, fine.
