He’s up there
Who’s up where Mahe?
Why Aaron Mooy of course, he’s up there in the list of best Celtic free signings.
My prayers have been answered as Ange has ditched the Calmac-Reo-O’Riley midfield at long last, not without giving it one last look to be sure, but more often than not these days the baldy Australian midfielder gets the nod.
And more importantly gets the job done.
At the risk of repeating myself our goals per minute ratio improved when he’s playing, and it’s easy to see why. He’s knocking them in himself!
The team looks much more solid when he’s in the middle, naturally muscled he not easily shrugged off the ball nor afraid of a tackle, can help defend, and now has a taste for goals.
Not only that but the man himself looks reinvigorated, full of smiles and enjoying his career at the moment, perhaps believing the special moments had passed him by.
Apparently there’s a lot more of this to come as Ange stated yesterday ‘he still has a hell of a lot of football in front of him.’
Captain Calmac now has an older, wiser, more experienced journeyman on the field for protection and aid, and off the field for playing tips and career advice.
All these positives for no fee.
We laud Anges signings, hell we still laud signings of the past, but I’m struggling to recall any Bosman/Freedom of contract players joining the club (in recent times) who,,,
were good enough to play at the World Cup,
were good enough to nail down a first team starting position,
and they score.
Finding the ultimate bargain of bargains is typical of our Greek Australian leader, who is in danger of rivaling Midas himself when it comes to players recruited. He himself has been the best money the club has spent recently. By a country mile.
Having the likes of a Mooy in and around the squad to come in and step up when asked is the reason we will be Champions again. He’s slowly but surely pushed himself above David Turnbull and now Matt. The latter in particular must be looking at what’s ahead of him and thinking I’m done, but yet he also is very handy to have in and around the squad as he just proved.
We’ve signed some crackers under the new regime but recently the hair-free and cost-free man has been ticking all the correct boxes.
Well done everyone for delivering yet another victory, well done Aaron for proving Mooys a worthy Bhoy.

POTY Competition
sencelpoty@gmail.com
Totally agree,a great singing, but they all are. My picks for Jobo were Starfelt (outstanding), Kyogo (worked hard) and CalMac….but Mooy was also excellent. ,
MAHE
Mooy has been superb for us after an initial settling in period where he was clearly playing himself back to fitness. Certainly the best Bosman-type signing since Joe Ledley. That’s high praise from me!
Morning all,
Got to agree Mahe, Mooy has really stepped up and again yesterday, was in my top 3 for Jobo.
The other 2 were Starfelt and Kyogo 👏👏
Ps
Is it just me, or is it getting more difficult to pick 3 choices every week for Jobo ???
I used to get 3/3 regularly and 2/3 on a bad day.
Now with the difference competition it seems to be 2/3 on a good day.
Surely this must mean different players ( Mooy for example) have upped the ante which must be a good thing.
Anyway enjoy your day everyone 🍀🍀

Belated Happy Birthday BP.
Hope you took a photo of Frodshambhoy buying a round. Did he use his Sat Nav to find the Bar ???Wonders will never cease 😜😜😜
Morning Leggy
I agree about POTY picks getting harder.
I still struggle with Starfelt because of his passing. I always feel he’s likely to give a goal away. First half he hit a 20 yard pass straight out for a throw in.
Don’t stress about me buying a drink I used my wife’s debit card
MORNING ALL and JIM LEGGY, thanks for the birthday wishes as for frodshambhoy, we got to the bar, whit ye drinking packy, ill have a pint of fosters, ach he says can ye no jist hae haulf a pint, ive only got a ten bob note in my wallet🤩🤩🤩
THE REAL MCCOY, from last night, thanks for that, still worried about jim,,even if he was having a break from the blog, he would have have come on yesterday to wish me a happy bithday,,very strange.hh aff oot dugwalking

Starfelt actually put 2 right out the park .
Anything over 10yds and he struggles.
Good morning, friends.
At the moment it’s hard to see past Mooy getting one of the starting places. But Iwata has surely been brought in with the expectation of significant playing time. Fortunately, Ange clearly thinks in terms of having 16 players to contribute in every game and that usually (usually) consists of using 5 midfielders, changing the entire front 3 and sticking with our back 5. So Mooy is unlikely to start every game but will almost certainly feature in every one.
The 5 substitute rule has been an absolute Godsend. I know it was originally driven by COVID factors but long may it remain in place.

Thanks for correcting me. Leggy will tell you that us ex Centre 1 tax guys aren’t any good at counting.
I couldn’t agree Mooy with the current blog.

Auldheid,
Clever 😜
Here we go. I think the staff and players at Man City have known for a few weeks that this was coming down the pipe. It would certainly explain their dip in form.
This case will tell us how much UEFA mean business on this issue. If I was a Sevconian, I’d be quite concerned. They’ll be scraping the barrel for players for the next few years under these new financial sustainability regulations.
All the talk of “lucky Ange” is to get the Klan onside when the finance bomb explodes.
Ya f…..g beauty!!!

Hate to dampen your optimism but Scotland and SFA are outliers.
The huns are and will remain a protected species.
Uefa will be warned it will cause collapse of Scottish leagues so fearing a domino effect throughout Europe will turn a blind eye.
Loss of Arab cash will hurt UEFA but destruction of their cosy cartel would be cataclysmic.
Therefor lots of seen to be doing but nothing done.
Same as it ever was CSC.
SOLKITTS
Oh,dear. Can you hear me playing the smallest violin in the world, just for City?

Craig Gordon best Bosman for me
78 goals from 25 league games.
Averaging 3.12 goals per game …WOW!
Are you not entertained?
B.A.D
Of course we are entertained!
We wouldn’t watch otherwise.
Frodsham … @ 11.33 / last night.
Couple of points — 9 points ahead but out of Europe — there is no future in being a SPL flat track bully.
To me that means that we have work to do and that is why I think we need to work on out M/F.
Regarding MoJ @ CB — I think that he is 18 months away from being a starter for us.
Good footballer but a bit undercooked / soft as a defender for us — needs to be playing on a regular basis.
Good to get him on loan — try before you buy — but he is nowhere near value at £3.5mill if the rumours are true.
Eighteen months time — we will need much better performers if we grow as much as I hope we will.
Starting CB’s — CCV might make it but CS has a long way to go. He gets unsettled / shaken up much too easily.
He has growth regarding his footballing ability and his playing out from the back.
But he looks like a cat on a hot tin roof when the pressure starts to mount.
CCV seems to be able to handle the challenge that bit better.
Citeh issues — is Lord NS available for a quick inquiry?
Interesting to see how such alleged financial shenanigans are handled down south by the EPL?
Compare and contrast with the SPL / SFA’s efforts regarding the dual contracts / side letters?
No sporting advantage from any rule breaking — I wonder how this local concept will last in the real world?
Mahe @ Headlines
I do rate AM and he has produced some good performances for us.
However he can be a bit sloppy / lazy thinker at times.
He was our best M/F’er yesterday — but it took him 20 minutes to get into the game.
Lots still to come from him once he gets up to speed and stops the lazy final ball.
Very frustrating when he does all the basics very well / commands the ball and move forward only to see the effort wasted as he gets sloppy at the end.
Great to see him take the chance.
Still having nightmares about JMcC — same opportunity / total lack of engagement regarding his play.
AM is older than JMcC — if yes then the situation situation is even worse that it was 12 months ago.
BMCUWP
I want to hear a full orchestra of tiny instruments which would drag Rangers (in liquidation), Sevco and the SFA onto centre stage, followed by a somewhat rotund woman singing down Govan way.
We can but hope that the English press starts comparing City’s punishment (which hopefully will be meaningful) with the lack of same when a team in Scotland cheated to “just slightly less than match-fixing.”
I took another look at the ground level footage. Check out how depressed the ref looks after goals 1, 2, and 4 went in. Visage like a torn melodion.

Re Citeh,,ooft.
This should ensure Arsenal win this year assuming points reduction involved soon.
Big question is their titles during those years.
Those get stripped Peps walks and his years there have been a failure. Big chunk of time to waste for the man deemed the best in the world.
Wrong dance partners.
Interesting times.
Mahe
The point I´d like to raise is if the independent inquiry set up by the FA can revisit all the way back to 2009 then why can the SFA’s independent inquiry not revisit 2011 ?
AweNaw,
Great point but only a handful of Tims wish the past dragged up again, would be costly and controversial, I don’t think there’s a snowballs chance in hell of a fresh inquiry up north.
Ps the Beeb are confirming the white paper on new football rules including an IR is about to be released.
I expect it passes the house of Commons soon with instructions to begin in two seasons time, next season spent assembling the body and informing clubs of the finer details etc.
It’s changing for the better down there.
Hail Hail
Fan, reading some, you wouldn’t have a clue we are living through the most successful period in our history.
Takes all kinds, I suppose.
“St Johnstone won their appeal against the decision but Stuart Dougal reckons Willie Collum did nothing wrong and won’t be marked down.”
This guy Dougal seriously talks a load of shite. As far as he’s concerned anyone connected with the SFA is case of 🙈🙉🙊
Big Audio Dynamite
I don’t know if I agree that this is the most successful period in our history. 65-75 was, as I recall, fairly productive !
But I do largely agree that at times this place can be a wee bit too critical of the way the team and many of its players are performing. I am no happy clapper and I am certainly not blind to the current team’s flaws but at times – the first half of our last two games for examples- we are a terrific team to watch with players such as Kyogo, Jota, Hatate and , increasingly , Mooy as entertaining to watch as any players we have had since the days of Henrik and Lubo.
Jimbo
JIMBO 67 4:01 pm
Agree 65 to 75 just look at our record we were not running away with the league, nothing against this period as you can only play what’s in front of you but the Scottish league is very poor.
Prestonpans bhoys

================
Did he say there was nothing wrong with Jack’s assault on the St Johnstone player or did he not notice it.
Are we not averaging, possibly the best goals scored ever in our history ????
Asking for someone who has been in a coma and thinks the Huns are still alive ??????
Enjoy the moment CSC 🍀🍀🍀
Frodshambhoy
I can’t remember what he said about Jack however here’s his view of the composition of the review panel
“The review panel is not made up of all referees and ex-referees. Ex-referees can be involved, but you can have ex-players, ex-coaches, some laypeople like sheriffs and lawyers and people with an interest in football.”
As far as I’m concerned that looks a excellent mixture.
Prestonpans bhoys
Agreed that looks like a good mixture.
Presumably that’s why they made a sensible decision.
Wonder what would’ve happened if they were all ex refs.
Jimbo, I was only thinking about our success in Scotland and how many cups we have won in the last 20 years.
If we took Europe into account, then obviously you would be correct.
I don’t know if we are maybe a bit spoiled now, but I find some of the stuff I’m reading unbelievable.
During the last match I read the team (winning away at tough venue) described as shocking, rotten and dreadful …
Makes you wonder what the team would need to be doing to please these people.
Seems like it we ain’t winning 5-0 and dazzling, they are not best pleased
I just find it incredible.
When prks like Dougal get wheeled out, you know they’re talking shite, and trying to defend the indefensible, BTW has embdae ever heard him backing a decision against the huns? What does that tell you…..
Good afternoon friends.
Since the Sevco game the number of folk voicing their MOTM opinions has been relatively steady – 74, 70, 62, 68, 69, 69, 65. Following yesterday’s game and with 5 hours left until the polls close I’ve already received 60 emails. Be good if at least another 15 would care to vote. Remember, you can join in or dip in and out at any time; just email your 3 choices to me at SENCELPOTY@GMAIL.COM
Leggy, is there another team, this far into the season, who are averaging over 3 goals a game? I’ll be surprised.
If this is what Ange can make happen using £2m players, I think we should try and be a wee bit more understanding of a couple of missed chances, or players not at their best every minute of the game.
If the players were dazzling every week, would they be in Scotland? Would they be worth £2m?
Jobo, so we join by emailing you after the next game? Meant to do this already …cheers👍

BAD
Its the drop in performance in the second half that’s a concern. Been a number of games recently.
BAD,
Your correct. It’s The Scottish Premiership and at best a steppingstone for greater riches.
My point being, there’s still a lot of negativity about, even although we’re scoring freely.
We’ve all been through the bad times, but let’s enjoy the current team, the football and the fantastic Manager.
InAngewetrust CSC 💚💚
Prestonpans Bhoys, I honestly believe it’s mostly game management …and on days when teams get close to us, this team just comes up with a 95th minute winner. Imagine what that does to those who covet our crown …demoralizing 😊
This team is just so professional. 🍀
Is Ange the current custodian of the Holy dry European powder passed on down through the Aeons?
Leggy, we’ve lost 1 Goal in 7 games …one! Btw, I thought Joe should have saved it *Cough* 😉 Hard to imagine how we could be doing better.
And if we ain’t winning, who will be?
Fuck that!
Just keep winning.
HH
Big Audio Dynamite –
You’re very welcome to vote in relation to yesterday’s match as long as you do so before 10pm this evening when I then finalise the results. I look forward to your email 🙂 SENCELPOTY@GMAIL.COM
Jobo, danke 👍
Mags, next year we as gonna buy £3m players ..then Europe better watch out!
BAD@5:15
Perhaps Ange can reverse it and play great the second half. By the time the second half begins the pre match drinks are working aff..
