Time for The Steelmen
Sunday’s fixture should be interesting. For starters Celtic will be quite jaded given the energy expended in Birmingham, plus we have selection issues. As such, it’s not a straightforward stroll in the park.
The departed/unavailable/injured list is piling up,,Scales, Forrest, Palma, Kyogo, CCV, Valle,,that’s most of a team with some issue or another.
We can also throw in tired mainstays like Adam, Reo, Callum, Taylor, Kuhn, Engels,,and there’s a good chance the tired Trusty will have a complete rookie in Dane Murray beside him.
It’s possible we will witness a second debut for Jota aka Boy Wonder, but Daizen is well rested and I don’t expect him to be benched for this affair.
Adam is a certainty as is Kasper, Daizen, Greg and Kuhn,,after that who knows. I’d like to see Luke and Bernardo drafted in, a Trusty/Murray combo at central defense doesn’t fully inspire me but needs must. Ideally Idah scores the goals to take the three points then Cummings gets more minutes.
As for our opponents, losing the manager is just another spanner in the works as we cannot possibly know what to expect. Caretaker managers are dangerous in that respect, regular formation and/or specific player responsibilities can easily be switched by the man without his head on the chopping block. I’m fine with that, adjusting on the day is part and parcel of football, as is stamping your own impression on the team.
Everything taken together makes the affair much more interesting than a normal February SPL away clash.
I miss the midweek games due to work, so this is my introduction to life after Kyogo, still cant believe hes gone. But I backed Adam as top scorer, I read he was very good in Brum, Im really looking for him to assume the mantle of our main man up front, so some more goals from the Corkman would be very welcome.
Even though it’s February the window is still open, I’ll access at the end, but looking at the last matchday squad and looking ahead to tomorrow’s, we clearly need players. The current squad has/had too many passengers, good job shifting some out and being cash positive, but it’s bringing them in that really counts.
I doubt Brendan would have sanctioned all the loans/departures unless he believes he will be replacing them with better players, his type of players, or he wouldn’t have left himself short, like Stephen Welsh on loan when we could have done with him, could do with him available tomorrow. Palma is another example, he’s better than nothing if you get my drift,,if he wasn’t getting replaced he would be kept for numbers alone and when we are already winning to rest legs.
A clear out in football (unless you’ve a massive squad/wagebill that needs trimming which we don’t) equals arrivals. With the group stages settled, with most teams starters/backups established, with money to spend and preparing to do, the time is nigh.

Interesting to see that 4 of the 6 POTM in this blog are all this seasons signings. Shows from the opinion of the majority on here that the signings Brendan has made are performing even with the criticism that we all have.
Looks like another one gone. Sorry for the source.
Iheanacho rumour also reportedly nonsense.

HHH, IQ,
Agree. We must have had a rough idea of what Brondby wanted for Kvistgarden. Is it stupid of me to think that well before you sell your top scorer you give them a realistic offer and if they don’t accept you move on to other targets. We are now depending on Ineacho choosing to play for BR rather than take more money elsewhere. Really that is a shit show.
From the other perspective it could be argued that the board are not willing to shell out £10m plus on another striker when the one we paid £8.5 for has been second choice all season. Factor in the patchy form of Trusty and Engles and you can see why they are reticent. Now I think most would agree that Engles and Trusty have been decent signings and only Idah has really struggled but our board will always look for reasons not to spend money.
McCaff, I’ve been banging on about this system since it came out.
Gets into the mindset of the younger generation, as they always want to go and try and beat their best score, little like a video game.

Have a watch. Dortmund have had it in place for around a decade now. At the time it cost €1 million to install, but by all accounts the young squad would que up for it even after training was finished.
Pitymevin…I’ve seen it before and it’s absolutely brilliant for developing reactions and technique. My issues run a bit deeper in that nothing can replace the real action of a game. We just do not have the structure in place to develop players. That’s got to be the starting point…
McCaff👍Great album by the legendary James King @TLW one of best bands from Glasgow in the mid 80s who were on the verge of making it big until they self destructed 😎
Wolves 1 Villa 0. A belter.

McCaff, what it does do as in this article is give players more touches in 5 minutes that a full day.
The data on spin, speed of control and best of all sets the standard of who should be allowed into your youth set up.
Rather then being the managers favourite, because he knows yer da😂😂😂
Just love it when a player puts his laces through it. Gave asshole Martinez no chance at near post because the ball was really moving.
McGinn rightly booked.
Gordon…agreed! I look often for gigs but they seldom play. A song I’d never heard before came up on a Spotify playlist, making me look to see where it came from! I discovered it was from a new album, which I’ve just ordered. But not only that I also saw that they’d played Sleazy’s last year and also a venue in Cumbernauld! How I missed those dates I dunno but I am a bit annoyed about it!
Anyhoo, here’s the new(ish) tune…
Brest 2 PSG 4 with Dembele hat trick. These 2 could meet in the Champions League.
Pitymevin, yeah it is brilliant! I’d love to be in a position where our WHOLE club is able to benefit from such a system! Can you imagine a 12 year old, or 15 or 18 getting the benefit of it! That’s exactly how we should be approaching development…but at the moment we’re not even giving our 18 to 21 year olds proper competitive, developmental gametime! It’s nothing more than a shocking disgrace!
And we could get it for the cost of Yang🙈🙈🙈
McCaff Saw JK&TLW @ Queens Park Botanicals a few years back on their comeback. Absolutely mental night 😎
How many years ago, Gordon…about 12, I reckon!
Celtic no interest in Iheanacho.

Strelec price now up to £10M. Funny how that happens near the deadline when sellers know you need a striker and you have money in the bank.🤔
Haven’t heard a cheep about left back cover. Penrice played 90 minutes at Dundee today.

You see it your way. I see it mine.
The truth lies within.
I see very little evidence of love thy neighbour at play.
Wolves miss one on one, then sitter.

We should forego that for some altruistic rationale you champion?
====
Forego all of what that is of importance?
If £45 m were the cost of a bigot free country to raise grand kids, make friends, grow and develop as healthy mindful adults it would be cheap at half the price. A world waiting to be born.
That is not altruism, that is real ambition.
It all depends on what we each value.
You have yours and I have mine.
I set out my view, if altruism as you see wanting a better future society upsets you then that is for you to come to terms with.
Wolves miss another chance, dragging the ball wide.
Should be 3-0.
Commentators suggesting Villa are suffering for their huge efforts on Wednesday.
Wonder if the that will affect us tomorrow?
Martinez saves Wolves again.
Villa are desperately hanging on here.
We will certainly toil tomorrow.
Nothing surer.
PSG, with a front 3 of Barcola, Dembele and Kvaratskhelia, absolutely demolish an excellent Brest team 5-2 away from home.
PSG already integrating the Georgian for their run at Ligue 1, and the Champions League, despite uncertainty that would reach the knockout round of the latter.
Ambition, forward planning, and strategic thinking, subjects fundamentally absent at Celtic Park.
Unai Emery not messing about. Not ‘satisfied’ with first half performance, makes 4 subs at halftime. Can you imagine us ever doing that, before the sacred 60th minute, or even then?
Oh! Wait! I forgot we don’t have a subs bench.
God forbid Taylor pulls a ligament or a hamstring tomorrow.😱
Ireland 27-15 up on Englandshire at egg chasing. YAY!
Ach! 27-22 now.
YAY! Game over.
Just Sayin.
This definition of altruism might help your understand my position on altruism.
noun
Selfless concern for the well being of others is my concern and where I speak from and will continue to do so.
Celltic should be a beacon of light in a darkening world if it were to revisit why it exists in the first place but lost its way over the years.
I’m not dismissing the great work by Foundation and support groups of course.
I’m talking about a John Reid type stand that ended the Famine Song and pledges to live by the founding principle of love (not Catholicism) lost in the quest for money.
Altruistic? You bet your life.
Villa free kick around 25 yards.
Tieleman to take.
Goal from Malen.
Offside? VAR confirms.
Villa now dominating.
Wolves look nothing like a relegation haunted team.
They have some marvelously skilled players, including Guedes, Cunha, Sarabia.
4 subs have made a huge difference here. Wolves can’t get out of their own half.
Wolves manager Pereira about to make 2 subs. His team is under the cosh.
Two days to go. If we don’t strengthen with a ton of money in the bank I think the only conclusion is that lawwell is trying to get rid of Brendan again.
We will have more cash at the end of the window than at the start. We will be weaker at the end of the window than at the start.
A couple of injuries to key players and the league will be back in play.
Shambles of a substitution change.
Doyle and Gomez on.
Free kick to Wolves from 25 yards.
Sarabia to take, maybe?
Retake.
Cunha misses.
Kilmarnock and Dundee Utd still scoreless on the threadbare underlay.
Villa with 11 minutes to save this game.
I’m rooting for the underdog here.
West, that won’t be up for debate.
Until someone says its hard to make signings in this window.

Unless they are buying from us!🤣😂😅
Wolves can’t hold onto the ball.
Malen just misses for Villa.
Emery going Tonto.
Quote from Rory Loy, ex-utd striker about game at Rugby Park:
Says it all about Scottish football, really
“It’s been such a strange game because you’re just waiting on that one bit of quality and it’s just lacking.”
Kilmarnock 1 Dundee Utd 0 Watkins.
Calum Scott will be the man in the middle for the tie in Motherwell.
On VAR duties will be John (Cheatin) Beaton.
Malen just misses for Villa.
Emery near cardiac event.
Killie player bundles Utd. keeper to ground to score. VAR says it stands,
7 extra minutes at Molineux.
Tielemans into Row Z with volley.
C’Mon the Lobos!

Celtic should be a beacon. Can be. But cannot possibly be a vehicle to sort everyone’s ills.
We exist for a reason, but that is not as your panacea. Your will alone doesn’t make it accessible or acceptable.
You mentioned earlier getting real,
perhaps you should explore what that really means?
Wolves 2-0!!
