Are You Not Entertained?
In the last 3 games we have,,,,,
Scored 13 goals and conceded a solitary strike against.
Successfully navigated another post European tie.
Kept the Treble Dreams alive.
Blooded a new keeper, left back, and a homegrown central defender who is showing good signs of promise.
Seen our first and second choice strikers excel.
Used the entire squad with aplomb.
Witnessed the returning hero strike his iconic goalscorer pose.
Alongside the above we now clash with one football’s true global powerhouses whilst being granted the required clemency to have thousands of our own take over sections of the famous Alliance Arena.
Are you not entertained?
As far as what’s happening on the pitch, the essence of any football club, we can’t ask for better.
As for the game itself there’s plenty of takeaways. Sinisalo looks a well able deputy/replacement sheriff between the sticks, Schlupp is far from an over the hill has been, Murray might become Brendan’s legacy on the pitch, and Ralston is fine against domestic opposition so AJ can get rested when suits.
If I told you our new wide player conjured up two assists and a goal you might say we have a find, well Yang achieved exactly that and it’s understandable that a player getting minutes shows signs of improving. That kind of contribution usually sees a player stay in the first team, he needs to keep doing that to force the question.
Especially now our previous 1st choice has now been shunted to backup striker opening up a potential slot. Daizen bagged a fine hat trick, looked every inch a Celtic No.9, and reminded the world he’s more than just an athlete. He’s not just our top scorer now, he’s and asset to Celtic in every department from pressing to increasing his value as a player. He’s replaced Kuhn as the most improved player.
We certainly bring form into the big midweek clash, these players traditionally finish strong and that looks like repeating itself. Our Treble Dreams are boosted by the 2nd favourites being knocked out yesterday, pity as I wanted their scalp, but Hibs and Aberdeen will be no walkover. The biggest concern is being left demoralized post Bayern, but Brendan is excellent at picking up the group when needed. We might not progress in Europe but we are progressing on the park which bodes well for the summer window (less apparent holes to plug) and the early season qualifiers. We are certainly progressing in the Scottish Cup after being Five Alive!
The entertainment rolls on, the Celtic story continues to be the best page-turner in existence.
Savour these good times.

*SENTINEL CELTS PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2024-25*
*RESULTS FROM GAME #39 CELTIC 5 RAITH ROVERS 0 (MAEDA(3), McCOWAN, YANG)*
Good evening, friends.
My own pre-match concerns that we weren’t starting with our strongest team were very quickly dispersed when Daizen Maeda decided to show us how quickly he can adapt to his centre forward role. A beautifully placed stroke into the corner of the net in 5 minutes got us off to the perfect start. A wee 10 minute spell midway through the first half was our only sloppy period and it was during this time that Raith had their solitary chance of the game, a breakaway and decent enough chip allowing Sinisallo to make his first competitive save in a Celtic jersey.
On 36 minutes Hatate came on for the injured Bernardo and hopefully it was more of a cautionary move with Paulo being fit and available for our next game.
Shades of our midweek home game against Dundee, we again got our second goal in first half stoppage time. A brilliant breakaway goal with Kuhn feeding Yang who played it back across perfectly into the path of Maeda. Game, set and match.
The second half was still in its infancy when we got our third. Yang had his second assist in 3 minutes when his pass across the 6 yard box was clipped by McCowan into the net. And on 55 minutes Yang completed his best 10 minute spell in the hoops when he volleyed a wonderful Ralston cross into the net.
More substitutes followed with the departing McGregor, Kuhn, Yang and Schlupp replaced by Engels, Jota, Kenny and Nawrocki. Fortunately, Daizen remained on the park and in 76 minutes got his hat trick, and his 50th Celtic goal, slotting home a low cross from McCowan.
The Brendan Rodgers Scottish Cup love in continues – played 19, won 19! And hopefully both those numbers eventually change to 22. And this afternoon’s events certainly increase the possibility of that! I mean, even EKFC took Queens Park to extra time in the Challenge Cup semi final, coming back from 0-2!!
The full results are below but there’s something worth highlighting. In midweek, Daizen Maeda became the 9th player to receive 100% of the votes since I restarted this wee venture in season 2022-23. He now becomes the first player ‘ever’ to have received 100% approval in consecutive games! He has also been voted Man Of the Match 3 games in a row.
We have now played 39 games this season, winning 29, drawing 7 and losing 3. We have scored 110 and conceded 33 (domestically it’s 97-19 and in Europe it’s 13-14).
Thank you so much to the 68 who voted this time around. The total votes cast for each player are as follows, with my own nominations asterisked.
Sinisalo: 0
Ralston: 1
Murray*: 19
Scales: 2
Schlupp: 7

Bernardo: 0
Kuhn: 4
Maeda*: 68
Yang: 45
Hatate: 1
Engels: 1
Jota: 0
Kenny: 0
Nawrocki: 0
And so, the players receiving POINTS for the game against Raith Rovers are –
Maeda – 5 points
McCowan – 4 points
Yang – 3 points
Murray – 2 points
McGregor – 1 point
And the overall positions after 39 games played are –

Thoroughly entertained, Mahe! That’s going on a quarter of a century I’ve been getting thoroughly entertained …or maybe it’s since 1965? 😉
Celtic don’t need to dazzle me in every match we play, but it sure puts a smile on the face when we do.
It took a lot of people’s blood, sweat and tears to get the club into this position, but it has all been worth it to witness our team become so utterly dominant.
We are not here to take part, we are here to take over!!
HH.
Morning all
Quick post to ask for some help from any of you technical bhoys or Ghirls out there. iPhone issue.
No idea what’s going on with it. Flew home from Dubai last night. Turned phone back on, and all seemed good until I opened flash scores to catch up on footy results.
When you open the ‘Scottish cup’ tab, it’s showing
RANGERS 0 Queens Park 1
I’ve tried refreshing it, cleared cache etc, turned phone off and on again, but nope, still showing Rangers 0 Queens Park 1.
Thought I’d try Follow follow to get the result, however, that’s made matters worse. Phone goes red hot immediately and smoke starts belching out. At a total loss.
Any help appreciated. Ty.
Twisty,
Recite this and problem solved👍
Incy wincy Spiders
Came climbing down the spout
Scored fae a corner
And put the Sevco out
The ref he did his best
By giving a penalty on request
But captain disappointed missed his shot
And poor Filip Flipflop has lost the fcukin plot. 😂😂😂😂
Ps
A lovely morning to all you good people 🍀🍀🍀
HH 💚💚
For some reason the Scottish sports hacks weren’t up all night trying to come up with any witty headlines for the front page.
No award winning humour to describe the biggest upset in cup history.
No poking fun on both the tv and radio.
No cracked crests.
Just a whole lot of anger from people who apparently have nothing to do with Sevco ..curious that!
The REAL Rangers will be spinning in their grave.
Twisty, VG! 😊
Twisty good to see you posting
.
Your phone is in denial – rangers don’t exist 🥲😂
Morning bhoys, just been to lunch with my son, born and bred in Oz, Celtic daft, out of nowhere says Dad the ref was trying to help the Huns it’s a feckin joke
If we ever needed reminding of the vagaries of Cup football, yesterday provided a couple of Sterling examples.
The tangled, deceptive web woven at Ibrox spectacularly undermined by the Spiders.
The ramifications of that defeat will cut deep. Immediately and long term.
Internal strife without the financial means to prevent the significant consequences.
Ach, Hell mend them.
Plymouth and Queens Park provide notice that nothing can be taken for granted.
And so we go into our own giant killing role play on Wednesday, not exactly with nothing to fear, but with some positive belief that victory isn’t simply a pipe dream.
All is good today in the football world. Now all we need is a Board who’s ambitions are not just to be one step ahead of the club pretending to be Rangers over at Ibrox .
We can dream.
Sevco CEO fronted it up with the fat cats post match, where he told them the time to judge Baldemort is at the end of next season…..
A couple of thoughts on the weekend festivities.
Sinisalo definitely got some praise for his performance. I don’t have any problem with that. However, am I the only one that was unimpressed by his two handed punches when clearing crosses. I don’t think any of them cleared the area.
I watched Baldemort’s press conference. I actually thought he handled himself quite well in terms of trying to hang on to his job.
B B
The end of next season?
Fantastic news. The Banter Years continue uninterrupted.
We can celebrate, the Huns will self combust in rage and frustration.
Frodshambhoy
He was basically saying I’m going nowhere unless you pay me off.
Morning All,
Scottish Cup Draw after St Mirren v Hearts tonight.
😁😁😁
Mahe
But we are weaker according to BR.
Aye right.
Regarding Baldermot
Firstly, I think he’s a decent enough manager who’s getting a tune out of a rag bag of signings and loanees etc . He’s uncovered a couple of “gems” that they can sell on at a profit. He’s keeping them competitive in Europe So he’s a good fit for the Huns in that respect. He’s making them £££s.
The problem is that they are so dysfunctional as a club that the earnings he makes are being swallowed up in the Huns Dark Holes. This will continue for the foreseeable.
It’s really what Celtic ambitions are that matter here. Do we remain tied to their toxic brand or do we just cut everything loose and declare that we no longer see them as anything other than a city rival who offer nothing but hate and regression?
If we play our card right, we’ll be Champions League regulars every season for the next decade.
However, I trust our board as far as I can throw them and the old , white, middle class male dominance holds us back at every turn. The lack of ambition reeks out of them.
Hence, we remain in this parallel universe of Scottish football Kings and European also rans.

Good morning, friends. A most enjoyable Scottish Cup weekend would be capped off with St Mirren beating the Diets tonight. As for the draw for the next round, the fact that we now only have to go through playing Sevco twice more this season is joy enough for me, even if that is still 2 times too much. I really don’t mind who we beat in the quarter final but quite fancy a Celtic Hibs final in May.
Celtic’s ambitions will be clear enough in the summer.
Two CL qualifying rounds I understand.
In the Champions route.
We will likely be seeded for the first, but not the play off. Teams below us such as Slovan, Sparta in the former.
Red Star, Zagreb in the play off.
Tricky but given our performances against two mentioned above not insurmountable.
Perhaps we will be surprised by our recruitment for once. Depends as much on who leaves as comes in.
San Luis…what tune is he getting out of his ragtag bag of players? They’re 13 behind in the League, already lost the first available trophy of the season and just got knocked out by a ragtag group of part-time fitba players….
Looney tunes?
San Louis
I think Celtic have always had an interest in keeping Rangers relevant for competitive reasons, helped by a general hate of Rangers amongst the support that keeps up the demand for games against them.
The joint draft of 2011betwen PL and Martin Bain to allow both Celtic and Rangers into English football when RFC’s financial plight would be known 6 months ahead of administration supports that view as an attempt to prevent their collapse.
However there is a bit of cognitive dissonance at play now regards the thinking The Board is only interested in making money, which if true means removing all shackles to R2ngers and forging ahead into a new world.
We’ll see which direction the Board choose from the summer.
If money rules Board thinking as has been stated often then it’s a no brainer what the choice will be.
As I said, We’ll see.
Twisty…if it’s the iPhone 16(90) you’ve got they’ve sold you it by mistake, they were meant for The People!

I’ve made an amendment to your para
It’s really what Celtic ambitions are that matter here. Do we remain tied to their toxic brand or do we just cut everything loose and declare that we no longer see them as anything other than a city rival who offer nothing but the opportunity to hate them leading to regression?
I speak from a personal angle in that I hate what they bring out in me when watching.
That last minute penalty decision had me going Tonto (with apologies to the Loan Ranger) because it undermines any idea our game is based solely on sporting merit, sporting integrity being something I think is important.
Who is this Queen Spark I keep hearing about? Did she do something hilarious at the weekend? Asking for a friend……..😄
JS,
I thought I read somewhere we go straight to the play-off round.
I’m now not sure I didn’t dream that or summit 😉
B A D
I’m not sure- one or two we have shown we should be competitive!
Auldheid
The last second penalty decision had a whiff of corruption about it, but on reflection on loan Montgomery barged into the back of Dessers, giving the ref/var tag team the opportunity they needed.
Rash, and seemed unnecessary.
What was completely unacceptable was the overtime played allowing two corners after the pen save.
Just sayin’,
Just read again that we go into the play-off round.
It’s a home and away tie.👍
McCaff
I’ve only watched the Huns when playing us, they’re more than a match on their day. That’s down to their Manager and his tactical ability, as also proven in Europe. That they are so inconsistent, is the issue with said players.
Auldheid
Yes, the legacy of old Rangers has been hatred and bigotry, which, as it’s been directed solely on Celtic, Ireland and Catholicism, has meant many of us have fought back with equal hatred. No one is proud of that look, but sometimes, when you’re defending something so important and special that someone wants to destroy ( and under Murray, they wanted us dead and gone), you have to fight fire with fire.

No QP player makes team of the week. Hagi does though……..
Although they haven’t reached the Scottish cup final for 125 years, Queens park have still won more cups than Aberdeen, D.United, Hearts and Hibs …and Sevco ☺
Just Sayin.
I agree that the decision is in line with others of I’ve seen them given category.
It is the whiff of corruption I find damaging, but there is no proof that the Referee thought this is a chance to save R2ngers bacon, but who needs proof when there is quite a bit of evidence of a pattern of assistance?
I would like to watch a game knowing referees were not influenced by the impact their decision might have on R2ngers financial future which is an ongoing moral hazard that undermines integrity.
That might come if R2ngers reach a point of financial stability which Clements is there to provide but it will not occur overnight or without pain hence their CEO saying end of next season ie 2027 before football progress (without help) can be made.
Triple H,
That the same Hagi who was playing so well his manager hooked him and replaced him with a left back!?
So he had a better game than, say, Yang? McCowan? Calmac? And on and on.

End of next season might find them further behind than second if austerity measures kick in and one of Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, D Utd find some sort of consistency.
Should that happen apathy amongst the peepul will have a serious impact on revenues already under pressure.
They may think today marks the ultimate low point.
I wouldn’t be too sure about that, or too positive for their future prospects

spot on.
There were 5 minutes added and the pen given was right in 95th minute. There were no other stoppages or subs in that time therefore full time should have been blown as soon as the save was made. But he allowed two corners. That stinks.
Re the pen this is the same ref that ignored the push on Ccv at the Motherwell goal and ignored a possible Dundee pen when the tribute park went straight up the park and scored. Three big calls that tbh could have gone either way in real time. The fact they all went the same way tells you all you need to know about “unconscious bias”

His name is Calum Scott.
Walsh the ref v Motherwell?
Anyway, they are all clones and indistinguishable- yet another one for the watching.

Stewart is presenting as optimistic a view as he thinks the support will buy into and keep supporting.
I think it will take longer to reach a sustainability point and even longer to produce regular winners from that platform.
Sustainability might be acheived by steps taken to get there.
Would R2ngers be sustainable with a crowd of 40k?
Why not? Their budget would still exceed all other clubs bar Celtic the question is are they prepared to lose 10k to become sustainable?
That would be a metanoia moment in Dialogue terms and I doubt if their support are anywhere near that moment as they are not open to dialogue or are unaware of the concept.
The optimist in me hopes the 10k lost are the bigots that force the club to sack mangers because they cannot accept the reality they are not the peepul after all.

Daizen has the advantage of coming from a culture where the recognition of the intrinsic worth of fellow human beings outweighs any need to feel superior.
I think Japan learned that lesson the hard way from 1945.
