In the last 3 games we have,,,,,
Scored 13 goals and conceded a solitary strike against.
Successfully navigated another post European tie.
Kept the Treble Dreams alive.
Blooded a new keeper, left back, and a homegrown central defender who is showing good signs of promise.
Seen our first and second choice strikers excel.
Used the entire squad with aplomb.
Witnessed the returning hero strike his iconic goalscorer pose.
Alongside the above we now clash with one football’s true global powerhouses whilst being granted the required clemency to have thousands of our own take over sections of the famous Alliance Arena.
Are you not entertained?
As far as what’s happening on the pitch, the essence of any football club, we can’t ask for better.
As for the game itself there’s plenty of takeaways. Sinisalo looks a well able deputy/replacement sheriff between the sticks, Schlupp is far from an over the hill has been, Murray might become Brendan’s legacy on the pitch, and Ralston is fine against domestic opposition so AJ can get rested when suits.
If I told you our new wide player conjured up two assists and a goal you might say we have a find, well Yang achieved exactly that and it’s understandable that a player getting minutes shows signs of improving. That kind of contribution usually sees a player stay in the first team, he needs to keep doing that to force the question.
Especially now our previous 1st choice has now been shunted to backup striker opening up a potential slot. Daizen bagged a fine hat trick, looked every inch a Celtic No.9, and reminded the world he’s more than just an athlete. He’s not just our top scorer now, he’s and asset to Celtic in every department from pressing to increasing his value as a player. He’s replaced Kuhn as the most improved player.
We certainly bring form into the big midweek clash, these players traditionally finish strong and that looks like repeating itself. Our Treble Dreams are boosted by the 2nd favourites being knocked out yesterday, pity as I wanted their scalp, but Hibs and Aberdeen will be no walkover. The biggest concern is being left demoralized post Bayern, but Brendan is excellent at picking up the group when needed. We might not progress in Europe but we are progressing on the park which bodes well for the summer window (less apparent holes to plug) and the early season qualifiers. We are certainly progressing in the Scottish Cup after being Five Alive!
The entertainment rolls on, the Celtic story continues to be the best page-turner in existence.
Savour these good times.

I thought the ref at Ibrox yesterday was same as the St J referee I thought needed watching after awarding a foul on Engles to St Johnstone.
He wasn’t but there were similarities supporting JS point about being clones.

I mentioned the term. Moral Hazard being a factor at play in the belief our game is corrupt.
What Is Moral Hazard?Moral hazard is the risk that a party has not entered into a contract in good faith or has provided misleading information about its assets, liabilities, or credit capacity.
And this.
In addition, moral hazard also may mean a party has an incentive to take unusual risks in a desperate attempt to earn a profit before the contract settles.
Where it applies to referees is that it is the SPFL who pay their wages and anything that threatens that, like Rangers fans money being lost as an income source might be a factor as big as or greater than any sectarian reason for questionable decisions taken.
Hence the unsupported SC resolution to separate the supplier of the service from the benficiary who might be influenced for remuneration reasons to decide as he might.
It not only protects the game, it protects Scottish referees and removes moral hazard.
Any review of Scottish football or any club should identify moral hazards and take remedial steps.
Colin Steven is another new kid on the block. Three times in two matches he has had pen decisions involving us overturned by var. Everytime in real time the decision has gone against us. Instinct
The remarkable thing is that our rivals are convinced that there is a conspiracy against them and the Unseen Fenian hand( via the omnipotent PL) controls what happens on the pitch to our benefit and their detriment.
Ironically they’d welcome officials from outside Scotland.
Go figure that out!
I also agree with frodshambhoy sinisalo should be catching the ball more rather than punching it out ,you punch it out you run the risk of an opposing player running on to it,.another true story 👍 👍 👍

That has gotta be the most incredible fact in all of sports!
Very quiet about any cheating last night though, eh?
Our continuing domination appears to have tipped all of them over the edge
Witnessing their karma is a thing of beauty.

Are we entertained?
Very much so, especially this season with the changes made to the CL format, that certainly makes for a far higher entertainment factor imo.
Yet the acid test awaits on Wednesday, before we start to make claims that this season is the template for future seasons ahead?
Still believe that we have a great opportunity for success, not just on the night, but the actual tie overall.
Got a manager capable of delivering a game plan, despite a record of nothing to noteworthy in such games and ties overall.
Got players capable of delivering upon a game plan, even if reduced in numbers of players capable of playing in such a high prestige match, and hardly helped by Maeda and forrest unavailable and a doubt surrounding Paulo also now?
But these are the challenges we have waited for way too long to be involved in, and hopefully they start becoming our new normal, for the future of our club?
Without knowing what to expect on Wednesday, doesn’t lessen the excitement involved.
Will we get the exciting front foot produced against Leipzig?
The cat and mouse game involved against brugge?
The backs to the wall display against atalanta?
Or the totally outclassed display against dortmund?
Hopefully we can put the first 3, into operation well, worry remains the 4th, and hopefully isn’t a factor over the course of the tie.
The lack of suitable subs for a match of this magnitude on Wednesday, is my biggest concern at present, so a massive shift will be possibly required from our starting line-up.
Even the Taylor conundrum will possibly be in operation, along with squad depth to contend with.
Has been addressed somewhat regarding Tierney during the last window, but someway to go, before feeling comfortable at hoping our new normal, can be regarded as at a satisfactory level still?
But this potentially brings into play a new challenge regarding keeping stability intact regarding squad numbers and strength also.
For a club like ourselves, within the current footballing landscape, games such as Wednesday increases the stock factor within all those involved from our club.
Unfortunately the price of success on our behalf, that we have managed pretty well as a club.
If all members of our staff involved with what’s capable of what they can produce, then another magical European night could be in store for ourselves?
Personally believe that it may just happen also imo?
Given the importance of our next game it’s never too early to give our team opinions. So here’s who I’m hoping start the game for us –
Schmeichel
Johnston, CCV, Trusty, Taylor
Engels, McGregor, Hatate
Kuhn, Idah, Jota
Barring injuries I’d expect 2nd half appearances from Bernardo, McCowan, Schlupp and 2 others. But I’ve still to work out how and when we introduce them whilst not taking anyone else off ;-),
Jobs
Agreed with the starting line-up.
Replacements?
Paulo if fit, again Agreed
McCowan, has been given very little game time to date at CL level, which is a bit surprising.
Schulpp is still trying to get up to match fitness with such little game time available to him so far this season.
Still believe that he is our best available LB quality wise, but if his match fitness is up to a decent level, could he be considered for actually starting?
Possibly a longshot, but wouldn’t be one I would complain about, if it should actually happen.
Hatate remains a huge favourite of mine as a player, despite not knowing what we are going to get.
So Schulpp could also be considered as a potential replacement for Hatate, if he’s having an off night, with Scales as cover for Taylor also.
Not expecting to many changes from ourselves throughout the course of the game either?

Surprising.
Any info on how much assistance each of them received from referees.
I reckon Beale knew he would be helped when he pushed for the job.
UEFA wont allow Bayern to wear their home kit as this season’s kit has black trim (including black numbers on the back) on their traditional red background. UEFA says the black numbering isnt sufficient visible against the red background, so Bayern have to change the numbering or wear an alternate kit.
Their away strip is honking. A black and blue splotchy monstrosity, with sort of salmon coloured trim and numbers (which, i suspect, would also fall afoul of UEFA’s mandate).
I think their 3rd/CL kit (all white with red trim) is great, but wouldn’t be allowed on Wednesday as it would conflict with Celtic’s jersey.
of course, they could wear their grey Oktoberfest strip, or their fifth, awful argyle pattern jersey Fraun Sondertrikot.
All about selling as much pap as possible….

fuck rainjurs lets talk celtic for a change, who is going to be our man of the match on Wednesday im going for maeda he has played in world cups, so bayern Munich should not scare him👍👍
Celtic have announced a pre tax profit of £43.9million – up almost £12m from this time last year. And the Parkhead club still have £65m sitting in the bank despite breaking their transfer record twice

It’s called cognitive dissonance.
The ability to hold 2 opposing thoughts in separate compartments in one’s head and believe both to be true.
A Celtic example is the thought that all that drives the Board is to make money yet believe the same Board will be unwilling to spend to make money in Europe in the new form Celtic took part in shaping.
Both cannot be true although not sure which one is or why that would make sense.
Al-Ahli have dropped Robert Firmino from their squad. After buying the Brazilian Galeno from Porto for 42million pounds, Al Ahli, who already have the likes of Ivan Toney and Riyad Mahrez on their books, have exceeded the league maximum allowable 10 foreigners, so there is no room for Firmino.
Not a chance Maeda will be man of the match on wednesday.
CRAIG 76 is that because of his red card, forgot about that, thanks for reminding me👍👍👍👍
Frodshambhoy,
I cannot believe you think the huns get any assistance from referees!
They’ve clearly been cheated out the last 14 trophies!
Just wait till they’re back in their rightful place, then we’ll see who’s laughing on the other side of my face.

Celtic have officially confirmed that Kieran Tierney will join the club in July.
Welcome home KT
Would love to have lined up against Bayern with both AJ + KT as our full backs
They 2 would fit right in at a club like Bayern.
I’ve just heard a wee radio clip of Barry Ferguson from last night. He said “Rangers have only won something like 3 of the last 24 trophies. That is absolutely unacceptable!”. It was immediately clarified to him that it was 3 out of 42 – and the same as St Johnstone.
There followed about 30 seconds of total radio silence. I don’t know if it was anger, shock or both!
😀
I suspect their Board are now thinking long term and will probably bring back Slippy G just in time to try and Stop The Ten!
Auldheid
Is that the same cognitive dissonance
you had saying Celts were playing ‘with a square ball after fifteen minutes’ on Saturday ?
Support yet not supporting ?

I’m pretty sure it was Derek Ferguson.
Not that it matters too much.
Apparently Fillipe flop is on 50 grand a week 🤣🤣, worth every penny if you ask me.
Time for St Mirren v Hearts on BBC Scotland. Followed by the quarter final draw.

All fine (and fun) to laugh at PC, but, I think many Celtic (and Sevco ) fans forget that last April, the zombies were 4 points behind, but with 2 games in hand. There were only six games left at that point. So, they were in the driver seat. We know that they then went on to lose 3-2 to Ross County, but had they not, they would have only needed to draw at Celtic Park to be in the drivers seat with only a few games left.
I know ‘if my auntie had balls …’ but they werent as far off last season ….
Having said that, I am a bit surprised that he hasn’t been bagged after yesterday … clearly, he was sold a bill of goods when he signed up, and then was given an extension on his contract in return for not spilling the beans in public …
not sure they can afford to pay 100,000 per week for a coach (which they would be if he was fired, and they bring someone else in at the same wage …. are they still paying anyone else?!)
I have also heard that the Board are actually pleased with a lot of the work he is doing behind the scenes …
and the reality is that, financially, a good run in Europe is worth at least 5 SPL titles… and on that score, he is so far doing okay this season….
Normally, SuperBowl winners get invited to the White House …. this year?
but we all know that DT was rooting for KC (after Patrick Mahomes and his wife pledged to name their next kid after him, or have a threesome with him, or some such thing), but KC choked and DT left early …. and, importantly, the Eagle refused the invitation to attend the White House after their last win in 2018 because DT was in the white House at the time … and we all know that DT holds a grudge, so he will still be stewing after that snub …
so, will the Eagles, like most companies in America, bend to DT’s will and kiss his ass publicly at the White House?
If not, I may have a new favourite NFL team….
Frodshambhoy
Ah ok mate.
Radio Clyde was brilliant tonight. Bear after Bear demanding that Clement be shown the door and replaced by Gerrard. Keevins patiently explaining that TRFC couldn’t find £400,000 to buy Cameron from Dundee so where were they going to find millions to sack and replace him??
The response was ” they’ll jist huv tae!!!!”
😂 😂 😂

I don’t think my comment on the Huns is indicative of cognitive dissonance.
I see it more as a delusional disorder in the form of group psychosis, synonymous with paranoia.
Some support here for those, like AULDHEID,who reckon CL income is skewering the competitiveness of the smaller federations.

Yes it was getting a bit close last April however what also has to be taken into consideration is the ridiculous amount of penalties they received.
That seems to have dried up this season 👍
Preston
True .. and also true that the change has been quite strange … although they still seem to get the benefit of most calls …I’ll be honest, I wasnt shocked at the penalty call … it was soft, but was there a push? yes. I actually thought the keeper’s foot was MARGINALLY off the line, so was surprised that the spot kick wasn’t ordered to be retaken…
strange times, indeed.
Mike…are you a Hun in disguise? Celtic won the League by 8 points and a superior goal difference last season. Also beat them in the Cup Final. They had opportunities to beat Celtic on a few occasions and choked, cos that is what they do, choke! I’m bored hearing how good they might be, or if, if, if yer auntie had baws! As we all know it’s what happens on the pitch that counts and under Flip Flop they have failed at every point it looked like they could show a wee bit of steel!
Control yourself in my courtroom, Counsel! 🤣

I was referring to the oft expressed view here and elsewhere that all the Board is interested in is making money the other expressed view it would not spend to earn money, not any view of yours.
I think cognitive dissonance applies at Rangers but is not specific to them.
Perhaps insanity applies more to Rangers , keep doing the same thing ie acting unsustainably but expecting a different result.

—————————-
Just got that from another source, and was checking to see if it was a spoof.😊
BBC at St Mirren v Hearts just stated Maeda available.
Maeda’s availability is huge for Wednesday … at the moment, he might be the most important player (without Kygo’s pressing, Maeda’s pressing takes on even greater importance in BR’s system, and by adding goals to his work rate/pressing, he has surpassed Kuhn in terms of importance at the moment).

Nice wee morale boost for the squad. Our options up top increase significantly.
