On my signal, unleash Hell!
The Hibs come to Parkhead later today and to be honest it’s a meeting I always enjoy. I listened to an insightful Celtic Underground podcast which informed me of the beginnings of their rivalry (Hibs fielded an ineligible player, then complained about our conduct in calling for the investigation that found the player ineligible (bloody cake and eat it stuff) and to top it off effed up the required Cup replay by charging an entire shilling rather than the standard sixpence and alongside it being on Christmas Day plus in poor weather the crowd dipped and the Hibs (the bigger club at the time) were beaten. As you can tell not much has changed in 130 odd years, bloody Directors messing things up and Celtic beating Hibs.
Okay it won’t be the standard sixpence at the turnstile, but I do expect a full house, I do believe the away support shall travel in full numbers because,,,
1, they are a club on the rise, top 6 minimum and looking to get better
2, it’s a chance to go third if the Dundee United result goes their way
3,,they, the travelling Hibs fans, are guaranteed 12 minutes in the spotlight.
They have the freedom of Parkhead for 12 minutes due to ‘our’ latest call to arms. They will sing their hearts out and be the man of the house, for 12 minutes. The TV coverage will still get some atmosphere and I wouldnt be surprised if they placed more microphones than usual infront of the away section for the casual observers sake.
However, as the title suggests, on that 13th minute unleash Hell. I’d like to see that away section get embarrassed by an absolute eruption of noise and passion, by a wall of noise so loud it’s scary.
I’ll say this on silent protests, they are just a rung on the ladder, and it’s about the final destination not where you are currently that counts the most. They aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, and there’s natural pitfalls for instance your player gets a hard tackle in front of you the natural reaction is to spring up and say Ref/Bassa or words to that effect. A close effort is naturally accompanied by an Ohhhh. Somehow the Italians managed complete silence (that’s where it came from I believe) but Parkhead just won’t. It’s all about that 13th minute Boom! We are here, we’ve sparked into life, let’s go!
If you’re attending, do us a favour and unleash Hell on that signal.
It would force the broadcasters to explain, it would be another feather in the cap of the Celtic Fans Collective, and hopefully become a viral outburst. Help if you can please.
Onto the pitch and I expect a nice game of football, our playing surface suits both us and them, it’s slickness and it’s width. I’d be stunned if Donovan was dropped, he should get all three of these home games under the belt, it would be good for him.
I personally would go with Sarachi over KT to save him for Braga, I think James will start out right, and I’d drop/rest Nygren for Engles.
As for Kels, he will start, he will score. He’s got three home games in a row to get that cult hero train fully rolling, and I kinda get the feeling he fancies ‘this’. He looks a better all round striker than Idah, a lot more football intelligence which might be expected but there’s nothing like a confident striker who hits the ground running. Do that at Celtic, the world’s your oyster. No pressure buddy, I just love a fairytale ending and all that. Blame Joe Hart, Lubo, and Mooy.

I think this 12 minute silence is poor I thought we were always there to give the Bhoys a cheer. By not giving the team the support from the off you are kinda in a way saying to the players they are not fit for purpose. The only good thing about the silence will not be having to listen to that Sam missile dirge
Be interesting to see if there is any plans for a delayed entrance or silent protest for the game against the huns in the cup when there is a wider media interest.

Not in favour of the additional minutes of silence. The whole point of a twelve minute silence is the correlation between a vociferous support and an extra ‘man on the park. At the rate CFC are going every supporter will be watching the game in a Celtic supporters club a la CCB instead of at the game. My reason is old age does not come unaccompanied ; what’s the CFC’s reason/excuse.
The suggestion is totally at odds with the ‘Support the team, not the board’ concept
Next thing you know we will all be hoping for a nil-nil 89 minutes and the mighty roar of a previously silent support carries us to an unforgettable win! In your dreams, in your dreams.
Chairboy 7.32: If Brendan play ‘Big-hearted’ Tony before young Master Donovan he won’t be picking his ‘favourites’, he’ll have taken leave of his senses.

Hmmm, funnily enough I’ve been attempting to resurrect interest an old story [Res 12] simply because despite all protests etc the support have very little purchase on the board.
Their complicity in the whole faraggo has been buried out in the open, it is still relevant and current. Is there any way the support can weaponise the material NOW? British press will not touch it, maybe Euro press will , maybe some German or Italian club that the huns beat in Europe at the time would like to know they were shafted [ unregistered players, voided results, shouldn’t have been in the competition etc]
Now talking about the above will serve no use at all, any more than banging on about FSR and the false narrative the Celtic board have framed it with does. I am simply intersted to know if Res 12 can be used as a spear point.
Not certain there will be too many changes today, but I’d be surprised if both KT and CCV play three games in 6 days, I’d also give the midfield a shake up, but I’m certain he’ll stick with his current three for at least an hour.
Up front Seb, Kele and Yang, most likely

I’ll be interested to hear what the Hibs fans sing. I always had a soft spot for Hibs until I sat near their fans a few years ago.
They were chanting hateful stuff about the late Lions players.
If they are as vile today while being loud and clear will it be called out 🤔🤔🤔
Mahe,
Your continuing romanisation of the SPL misses the vile invective from nearly every away support, Hibs included.
Admittedly, “If it wasn’t for the Hibees you’d be
Huns” is laughable,( and wrong ) the more obscene chants continue unabated, not just from the usual subjects, with no media comment.
So whilst I’m all for the Corinthian spirit we get
fake fouls, time wasting, bent refs, bent var and ten behind the ball.
As someone once said…
”I’d love it if we beat them, absolutely love it”
Good morning, friends and Happy Matchday!
With regard to today’s suggested silent protest, can anyone tell me in a sort of “Protests for Dummies” level just what it is I’m being asked to do today?
Is it complete silence?
Is it only songs that are being silenced, allowing me to clap the players and shout at the ref?
If we score early, am I allowed to jump out of my seat and cheer?
Do we roar during the pre-match huddle or not?
Do we sing songs whilst the teams come out and only go silent once the game starts?
As for the merits of this action, how does this fit in with the old ‘support the team, sack the board’ approach?
I’ve stopped going into the EK Celtic shop, even to browse, so that’s something I get. And I thought long and hard before deciding NOT to attend the Europa League games. Again, I feel I’m doing something. But silent protests? Wouldnt be my choice of protest….
Harry Kane didn’t win the Balon D’or.
All that it is, is nonsense.
Disappointed that the support felt that silence was the best weapon to choose to protest, not asking for a ‘blanket’ protest or excrement thrown at the directors box mmmn well mibbee. But IMO NOW is the best time to shout it from the rooftops about how they have been treated yet again by a board that treats them like excrement. NOW is the time to make your voices heard. The 2025 AGM is only weeks away give them something to ponder, but keep an eye open for the chancers, they seek out oppertunities to make a name for themselves and their motives are questionable.
“Silence Is Golden” – but not this time.
I wouldn’t be suprised if Lawwell steps down, someone has to pay the price for the shambolic leak to the press, that sounded to me to be the actions of someone completely out of touch the only sound we heard was the rifle blast as they shot themselves in the foot. If Lawwell has any scruples he would accept that he must bear responsibility for the press briefing that brought the club into disrepute. So, I will watch and listen to the 2025 AGM and hope that the guilty do the right thing for once in their tenure, it feels like the right time for change. Celtic, Celtic your the team for me.
Good morning all from Alfredos. Riff raff the lot of ye🧐
Jobo, as far as I’m aware it is no singing for the first 12 mins.
Im hoping the directors get a nice warm welcome as they enter the stadium today.
Jobo
Dont overthink the protest. The Collective have stated that if any fans wish to sing then that’s not a problem, likewise, it’s also said that normal matchday behaviours should be continued, I.e groaning at a poor pass, applauding good play, booing the ref and obviously celebrating a goal. Do what feels right for you mate.
St Tams 10.02.
So do I, I’ll be in the directors box.
San Luis,
Hope it doesn’t affect the pre match Kennedy/ Strachan keepy up show during the warm up.

No matter the work has been done up to that point there’s got to be a better use of their time.
This then followed by some unfortunate being brought in to do passing in a square followed by the fold your arms and look at the small sided warm up.
Not changed for years.

Auldbhoy67,

If UEFA now ban Israel from international competition I will have no doubt that it has fuck all to do with any sympathy for Palestine and everything to do with UEFA and FIFA. It is an attempt by UEFA towards FIFA to;
Curtail their influence
Limit their authority
Restrict their scope
Constrain their activities
Reduce their power
Place checks on them
Rein in their ambitions
Impose limitations
If UEFA does ban Israel I cannot see that action going unpunished in America for the World Cup that’s being staged there next summer.
It will be interesting to see how the American government and FIFA react to a possible ban.
FIFA cannot exclude UEFA from the World Cup. It will not ban individual countries based on association Palestinian sympathies. There are too many. The entire Asian and Arab football confederation, No Italian , Spanish, Norwegian, English participation. No Kane, No Haaland etc.
So FIFA will do as it has always done, like our board and focus entirely on the profits to be made.
I suspect the American government to punish individuals who have made public supporting statements towards Palestine to be denied travel visas. Possibly smaller football nations, Arab, Asian, European to be denied entry.
UEFA by itself will not be ostracized publicly but bribes will be paid by FIFA to government official(s) to ensure minimum disruption. It has always been so but this time it will be a world record breaking bribe.
How very apt.
The world sits in silence.

I must say I have rarely been so intrigued at a post as I was when I read the above.
Where I spent my youth, it would be interpreted as an unmistakeable threat.
On here, from posters I have met, been to games with, spent time drinking with, or others I have not met but communicate with offline, I would take it as good wishes.
Your moniker seems familiar to me, but I can’t recollect us engaging on here or CQN before.
So I am very curious – what prompted the post?

Following a successful protest against the Board at Partick Thistle over the weekend, we are
writing to share the next agreed steps and actions in our campaign.
As the Celtic board continues to ignore the concerns of the Celtic support, we are launching a three-match home package which reflects their silence.
The silences are designed to reinforce the importance of Celtic fans to Celtic Football Club by demonstrating how a silent stadium is in nobody’s interest.
The silence during this weekend’s match against Hibs will once again represent the fanbase
standing as the 12th Man – a powerful symbol of the influence and importance supporters hold
within our club.
The upcoming silences during the Braga and Motherwell fixtures will mark the number of days
the Celtic Board has failed to acknowledge the open letter signed by fans – a clear reflection of
the disregard shown toward their own supporters.
We hope that the silent package may be called off, at any point, should reasonable progress be
made by Celtic Football Club engaging in credible communication with supporters or there being movement in personnel from the Celtic board.
The Celtic board cannot continue to commodify our passion while ignoring our concerns.
Silent protest FAQ:
What is a silent protest?
In practice, a silent protest usually means there is no active or coordinated support. Celtic
ultras have led a number of these in recent years which have proven to be effective, e.g. against
the Offensive Behaviour at Football legislation (successful campaign) and the appointment of
Bernard Higgins at Celtic (successful campaign).
What will a silent protest achieve?
A silent Celtic Park will be a stark reminder to the Board of the importance of Celtic fans. The
silence, especially on a Euro night, will amplify our concerns to a broad audience. In turn this
will shine a spotlight on the Board and their failings.
Unfortunately there is no silver bullet to achieve change. We are committed to campaigning for
positive change and from the outset we said we would build an escalating campaign of
pressure. The silent protests are the latest steps of this.
What if I don’t want to stay silent?
Then don’t! The Celtic Fan Collective represents a broad spectrum of Celtic supporters. We
appreciate some protest actions may not please all, but we also believe we have a broad
consensus of support for the actions chosen to date. Ultimately individuals are free to act as
they please and all should be respected. However we appeal to all to consider the end goal of positive change and the importance of unity in achieving this.
What if Celtic score a goal?
We celebrate! A silent protest doesn’t mean we can’t react naturally and emotionally to the
match. However, it does mean we are asking that there be no singing during the time period.
What about “back the team”?
The upcoming silent protest time periods have been chosen so that there is a positive balance
in favour of backing the team. While we all want to back the time for 90 mins, we must also use
the tools and platforms at our disposal to send a strong message to the Board.
When the protests end, we will vociferously back the team.
What will happen next?
We are planning a holistic and strategic campaign of different parts. There will be escalating silent protests at the next three home matches – unless we see some progress.
Following that is an international break where the Celtic Fan Collective will evaluate its progress and next steps.

He definitely takes the middle-way, which is no bad thing, yet his take on recruitment, Celtic’s PR and communications, FSR is unequivocal.
Hail Hail
=================
Just watched that and pleased to hear him say a number of things close to my heart.
On supporters needing to know how the recruitment process WORKS. I think I have been consistent on making that point, but not just on recruitment , but how the process from Vision to Realisation via Strategy works. I have doubts there is a process which is why I put the question to The Company Secretary to be addressed at the AGM. Good to see strategy and planning getting a mention in response to Celtic’s 6th Sept statement.
On communication involving the support, I’ve been pursuing that since 2011 and the idea of a Membership Service has support and some in The Collective know about it, although it will need funding to make it happen. I dont think WH mentioned dialogue but it is a word now being bandied about by Celtic and support. It will never happen as long as neither side trusts the other.
The lack of response by Celtic (apart from the invitation to discuss the Fairhurst Review report, an invitation where dialogue was spurned because of no trust) is a fair point in communication terms.
I suggested on CQN that something like this from Celtic might remove the hurdle that insistence on answering the Collective questions has created.
——————
To all of the Celtic support – we hear you.
To the Collective we note the concerns behind the questions posed after our statement of 6th September.
However our concern is that any statement made is unlikely to lead to any quick solutions and may generate more heat than light.
Therefore we intend to set up an internal lesson learning group to identify mistakes made in order to prevent them from happening again.
As the unanswered questions came from what is now known as the Collective with its own Steering Group we would like to involve X members chosen from that group by The Collective to participate in the process and be involved as solutions are found and rolled out.
In the absence of what might be seen as washing dirty laundry in public Celtic believe this is the best and most efficient way to address what concerns the support have as a whole.
—————-
I dont see it happening because of mistrust.
On FSR: Haughey is right. Even though it was mentioned in the Celtic statement in the context of forecasting, the meaning given to it was that Celtic were suggesting that their failure to recruit in the window was down to breaching FSR.
It would have been best had FSR not been mentioned at all , it would have saved me a lot of grief.
You spent a lot of time demonstrating that there was no danger of breach but that was never stated by Celtic nor by myself, but I agree with Haughey, FSR would have been best left unsaid and its relevance to recruitment explained as part of an ongoing dialogue with Collective members, which will never happen as long as trust is absent.
Update on Fairhurst investigation
You may have seen on social media this week, Affiliation of Registered Celtic Supporters Clubs,
Association of Irish Celtic Supporters Clubs, Bhoys Celtic, Celtic Disabled Supporters
Association, Celtic Supporters Association and Green Brigade received an invitation from Celtic
to attend a meeting regarding the policing of the derby match on March 16th. After months of
delay, the club is finally set to release the findings of the independent investigation by Fairhurst.
In conjunction with the Celtic Fans Collective, the supporter groups unanimously voted to
decline this invitation. Until Celtic FC signals an intention to answer all of the questions raised
in the open letter and begin to engage positively with the wider support, we have no confidence
in meeting with the club under the current leadership.

Update on Steering Group & Sub Groups
As discussed in the last update, the steering group agreed to formalise its structure.
The main body of twenty-three will provide oversight while working groups will take
responsibility for delivery. Each subgroup will include at least one steering member to ensure
coordination, but they will also be open to any supporter with skills and time to contribute.
The agreed working groups are:
• Protests and matchday actions
• Communications
• Corporate governance and shareholdings
• Research
• Secretariat and supporter engagement
• Fan media.
Since the Steering Group was formed on 17th September, we’ve started expanding our sub-
group chats to include more supporters who can share their skills and experiences to help
shape the campaign. We are still working our way through those who have put themselves
forward but if you or someone you know would be a great fit, please get in touch.
Next in-person meeting
We’re planning to hold another in-person meeting during the upcoming international break, with Zoom access available for those joining remotely.
We kindly ask that each club/organisation send a representative again. Once the date and time
are confirmed, we’ll share the details via email.
Auldheid,
I caught up yesterday on your appearance on the Trinity Tims.
That is a tough gig.
You did well to keep your cool apart frpm the one time, but in the interest of fairness I thought James and Eric at least allowed you time to comment, I did however find Joes constant rambles about other Celtic supporters behaviour and Peter Lawwell (again and again) obsessively childish.
I tried to engae with these guys on their blogs, but they actually do not want dialouge, they want compliane to their thought processes.
I do wonder why you bother.
