Kilmarnock vs Celtic – Matchday 2
Sunday afternoon brings our second competitive outing of the 26/27 campaign as the Hoops hope to once again take all three points on offer to stay in or around the SPL.
This is a strange match to preview as its shrouded in uncertainty. Shaun has been this weeks temporary manager and he may or may not have Martin beside him in the dugout for the tie. In a normal week one imagines they would have analyzed our opening performance and made decisions based on their conclusion after watching the game back, but thats been thrown on the scrap heap by the unexpected illness which forced Martin into hospital and under the scapel. Given this unexpected turn of events our ex winger has been left to his own devices and presumably will try and put his own imprint into our style of play, he may even have picked the team himself.
I haven’t a clue what to expect. I’m unsure how exactly the shoehorn the two strikers into the team without Duran being wasted out wide unless we rip up 4-3-3 for either 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 which both have their own pitfalls. 3-5-2 sees KT and AJ not playing or not playing to their strengths, 4-4-2 would weaken the middle of the park and leave last years top scorer Nygren in limbo, and losing his goals just to play the two strikers together would be an act of folly in my opinion. Fixing our dilemma was surely setback by the unexpected illness, now its Shauns turn to try, or heads could just mind the shop and change nothing hoping the 6 days training together helps everyone gel and improve.
Who plays as our right winger best enjoy it while they can as they will soon be second fiddle to the incoming Hasseim Hassan and if it is Duran again he can breathe a sigh of relief that he’s unlikely to play that flank again.
Kasper Hogh admitted he’s getting used to real grass and theres a dollop of irony in realizing that last seasons pitch would probably suit him better, but the images I’ve seen show a quality playing surface and I’m glad Killie have finally joined the 21st century in forking out for grass. The weatherman says it will rain before and after the match with a two hour break coinciding with play, so it will be a beautiful but slick surface come Sunday afternoon which should in theory benefit the better footballers, and thats clearly us.
We all await the clash with eager anticipation and we all want to be watching when Hogh scores his first for his new club, lets hope its this weekend. I’m confident we have enough in the tank to win and next week shall see reinforcements arrive.
3 points please and another clean sheet would be nice.
Up The Hoops!

“Killie overloaded the right side of the Celtic defence when D appeared. They scored their goal thru that tactic”.
_+-+-_-+-_-+-_-+_-+
That’s incorrect. They scored after some nice interchange play down the left side of the Celtic defence. At that point three senior players got sucked out of position and only Donovan held his, and indeed had to come over and provide a more central right covering position for missing CBs.
Hibs penalty was correct. Hun player was totally oblivious of the ball, had his back to the play and had his hands all over the Hibs player.
Clumsy and untidy.
Colby done what players are coached to do, come inside to cover the player who’s peeled off our CB.
BADABING 615
Cracker!
Just in from brunch and saw the zombie score!
maybe Killie fire McCann, and Sevco fire McInness, and then Sevco hire McInness and Sevco hire McCann? Or as suggested earlier, Bawwy has to end up at one or the other
might have to pop onto Zombie media … they will be raging!
never wish an injury to any player (well … there are a few exceptions. I’m a bad person) … but having dislocated my kneecap three times.. if that is what has happened to Chermiti, as is being reported… he is out for a while … and they needed money from his sale to balance the books … they are fucked!
What’s the story with AJ?
To all those down Govan way, wrap up warm it’s-5 out there.🥶🥶
If any kind of offer came in for Chermetti he should never have been playing especially with a 15m game coming up on Thursday. Their other two assets Raskin and Fernandez should have been spared also. Fernandez was hobbling around with a groin injury 30mins to go and Dreich subbed Curtis for McCrorie leaving Fernandez on the pitch aggravating the groin.
There last two goals have been o.gs
The South African and Japanese lads look useful
AJ felt a pull.
From the direction of Liverpool
And they’re off
Auld Martin will be sniffing blood after his behavior last season
LASK center back Andrade puts them 0-1 up at Austria Vienna.

Oh, nice one!
Some zombies want Sounness in as DoF or manager, or seemingly both. Ffs😝
Craig76 – Thanks for Trashcan Sinatras t’other evening 🙏🏻 They were so happy to be playing at HAC . RIP John Douglas 🕊️

Good old Celtic
4231 the future.
Shirley Stevie G has to make a return, might need another pandemic though.
So, Chermitti gets injured on the day they turn down big bid for him?
That’s unfortunate
The banter years are back
Wish we could post vids on here

Forgot to set the alarm for 5.30am and thus missed the game ffs.
Mayve its just me was I would prefer us to be domestically challenged/pushed to improve. League looks as if it will be a straightforward romp.
Hat-trick Hogh, here we go.

True what they say. Look before you leap.

Bit early to be celebrating, and the huns won’t be this bad forever. Though I’d settle for a long run of mediocrity from them like in the first six years of the 80s.
Watched the zombie highlights. Not sure about Hibs’ penalty. I know they want to crack down on holding in the box, but if I’m being honest, this Seemed like 6 of one, half a dozen of the other sort of thing. No doubt the defender had his hands on the forward, but the forward had his hands around the defender’s head. The factor that might have swayed the ref is, at all times, the defender had his back to the ball, and so never tried to play the ball, but only tried to stop the forward from doing so. Will be interested to see the explanation for this
The knives are out for Cavenagh , Gillespie and McInnes. They are positively hankering for a return back to the good old days of Russell Martin. If the huns don’t get through on Thursday. I predict a riot
So MN says 3 or 4 in by qualifier which is in 10 days. That confirms the info we have been working and believe we have the deals in the bag just waiting to pull the trigger.
The negotiations are done.
Baur or Tahirovic or both.
KTs cover will be a loan.
The left winger could be a loan as we have 3 of them on the books.
Genetis if Arne leaves and I wonder if today was an “impress the London team” display.
I wrote awhile ago that Benji could improve with these two strikers. One thing Ive come to realize is that this bromance could really help him become much happier off the pitch which usually translates onto the pitch. Kasper looks infectious and Benji has a new BFF. They could really help each other settle and thrive pushing each other on. Can’t see Nygren asking to leave anytime soon and his wife has a new Scandinavian friend to take wining and dining, no wonder Hogh looks right at home and far from overawed. So refreshing. Be nice to see Jota and Duran form a bromance, Shaun says he’s very quiet and I’m not sure if thats good or bad. Theres no other Spanish speakers in the dressing room I believe, no other Latinos. His family would need visas and theres hardly a thriving Columbian influx to mingle with. Hopefully I’m way off the mark and he is already enjoying himself. Glad he played better today by all reports and thsts what really counts.
AJ has a bromance with KT.
CCV has Trusty. And by the way notice nobody complains about Trusty anymore, he grew into the role and silenced the doubters.
Balakwisha speaks French, not sure theres any other French speakers, possibly Tonetki but he will also speak Arabic surely which will work with Hassan.
New bromance unlocked, collect 100 dollars 😉
Hail Hail
Forgot to say, I hope Egyptians and Algerians get along.
Very funny, especially the ending.🤣

I think we are getting ahead of ourselves. We should be afraid. We should be very afraid.
Please read on ….but only if you have the nerve and are fully prepared for Celtic instant decline. I can’t argue with any of this thinking. It’s what the Americans call a slam dunk.
HE’S GER MAN Here’s why Derek McInnes WILL get it right at Rangers – and how he’s already taken page out of Walter Smith’s handbook

DEREK McINNES is Rangers manager for a reason.
He’s been allowed to sign nine new players — and counting — for a reason.
Derek McInnes hasn’t been happy with his team in his two games in the dugout so far
In the eyes of the Ibrox board, he’s the chosen one. The man to restore the club to its former glory. The man to bring back the good times.
So why then panic stations among supporters?
His new-look side have played 180 minutes of competitive football, and already it seems some Gers fans have lost faith, as well as their minds.
There’s doubt the Ibrox support have been to hell and back in recent years.
Since Steven Gerrard’s departure the Light Blues have burned their way through bosses in the same way they have burned their way through cash.
Nothing has worked and the recruitment has been awful.
That’s why they turned to McInnes this summer.
Gers needed someone not only capable of managing expectation. They needed someone to drive the standards. They needed someone to demand better.
That’s what McInnes did post-match at Tannadice last week.
Disgusted by his side’s first-half showing in the draw against Dundee United, he called out his lack of attacking options.
Just like mentor Walter Smith in those moments, McInnes knew exactly what he was doing.
He was urging more from everyone around him.
Given the size of the task he’s inherited, McInnes, 54, is well aware he won’t get Rangers back on top by himself.
It’s going to require a colossal collective effort from everyone.
It’s also going to take time. It hasn’t been a perfect start to the new season, but with so many new faces that was always the big risk.
Yet listening to McInnes assess where the immediate problems lie, there’s no question he understands what needs to be done.
He knows the club he loves are still a work in progress.
But in the same way I was never convinced by Michael Beale, Philippe Clement, Russell Martin and Danny Rohl, I’ve no doubts McInnes will get it right.
The club and its fans mean too much to him. He simply won’t allow himself to fail.
Not only is McInnes setting the standards, each day behind the scenes he’s driving them.
And it’s now up to the players to follow his lead.
Emmanuel Fernandez, Tochi Chukwuani, Dan Neil, Mohamed Diomande, Ross McCrorie and Youssef Chermiti were all well off the pace in last Thursday’s Europa League qualifying defeat to Jagiellonia Bialystok.
Four of the six were here last season, while McCrorie came through the ranks as a kid.
If the penny hasn’t dropped by now in terms of what’s required, then some are going to find themselves frozen out on the fringes before much longer.
The new boys will of course need time to settle and adjust.
But they must also understand that at Rangers time isn’t something that’s easily afforded.

We now have a proper centre forward and a huge personality, he will light this Club up when it’s ready needed right now

Hi MAHE
They have to be registered by Thursday. Not much use getting them in if we are already papped out. I think we can register one 24 hours before game but I’m not sure even Messi would be effective that late.
Why would we wait to pull the trigger? What would be the point?
HH
INIQUITOUS IV😊
I agree Bada, hopefully light Benji up too.
AWE NAW.
Yep, that was a quite terrifying read. 🤣😂😅
IQ4,
No point asking me why they are waiting but if forced to guess I suppose it was a thorough narrowing down process like what appears to have happened between Ghedjemis and Hassan.
I also would wish them embedded by now but (maybe its just me) I think we pump LASK and the SPL therefore taking your time to get it right would be worth it.
Hail Hail
Brilliant 😁 😁 😁
CT,
Is that aimed at me?
Mahe,
No, why would you think that?
It’s ripping the pish out the huns.
HH
Sorry CT, my mistake
Mahe,
No problem.
It does take a while to load at this end?
