Debuts in Dundee
The reigning SPL Champions enter the second of four competitions today and attempt to regain the League Cup trophy starting with an away trip to Tannadice this evening.
I would love to see a full house and I’m curious to see if their executives are wise enough to grant extra sections to the away support if they weren’t to to have a full house.
One thing we will see is a debut, hopefully two, which is always exciting despite the unwritten rule that permeates the unwritten code for a debut, don’t do anything stupid and keep it simple.
Would I like to see Hassan and Baur flung in from the start,,nothing would delight me more. I rewatched some of Baurs YouTubes then I came across yesterday’s video of Hassan doing tricks and my first thought was “good luck getting the ball off us”.
They will improve us in that respect but rather than a Brendan style possession this will be a forward thrust more akin to Ange. Yang always shows for the ball, while Benji, Duran and Hogh are great outlets to hit,,,add another two and its getting tasty.
It’s likely to be a different type of debut, two strikers playing together, unless Martin sticks Duran wide left which I think would be the wrong move as left footers on the left don’t score much due to the incoming angle. Besides he’s a striker not a winger so I hope its a partnership this evening and why not have a test run before the qualifiers.
If we play two strikers together somethings gotta give and the realistic options are 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 and Martin basically ruled out the former when he admitted Baur is not Engels replacement (good luck Arne) and that would be a box to box player therefore he still sees three in the middle. Throw into the mix the fact our first choice right-back is injured and the odds of the return to 3-5-2 at Tannadice are raised. We await the teamsheet and formation with eager anticipation.
A good winning performance would be manna from heaven and keep the good ship going full steam ahead into a crunch tie. We need to carry the feel-good factor into Wednesday night and theres 11 men standing in our way. Maybe its just me but I would much rather have Utd than say Ayr or Raith Rovers as this is a proper tie in a good stadium and surface that should require a good performance to win rather than a routine stomping. If we make it look like a routine stomping that would tell me more about our team than theirs and I would regard that a really positive sign.
We’ve been making this football lark to easy lately, 12 wins on the bounce I believe, and while 13 is considered unlucky on this occasion its up against a formidable opponent in Martin who obviously wants a Treble to retire with ergo he will deliver a great speech in Dundee demanding progression. Recently they’ve responded not only well but excellently and I pray that continues tonight.

Celtic are reportedly in the race for 18-year-old Bolivian wonderkid Moisés Paniagua, alongside Ajax & Ferencváros.
According to his agent, talks are underway, with Celtic exploring a loan or permanent deal, while Ferencváros currently lead the race.

Thanks for the welcome.
Rook? A nice little chess piece to hang on to in my experience.
v Dundee UTD
Tony or Colby is the only change from last week I’d imagine and I’d go with Tony as he does provide some excellent crosses.
Craig 3.40
Brilliant.
I liked when he said ..”We build up these players and give them a PEDASTOOL”
🤣 🤣
Nisbit again for Aberdeen, it was on the cards as that Dundee goal has been under siege.

I was gravely offended. 🤣 Try not to let it happen again. This site has standards.😅

Afternoon all,
What is the difference between. A Rook, Crow, Raven and Jackdaw ?
Asking the question because there’s a lot of black birds, roon oor back garden, and they make a helluva racket.

All moot, of course, if MON goes with MAHE’s suggestion of three at the back-which I had hoped never to see again after the failed Nancy experiment.

What do you mean failed?
It set up a box office finish to the season and a fairytale ending for Celtic.
That’s Showbiz 🤪 🤪 🤪
Idah puts Swansea 2-1 up at Stoke.
Where’s AWE NAW?
Brentford 7 Eintracht 0 after 77 minutes in friendly. Schade with 2 of them. Shockeroony.
Team
Celtic B 4-1 up at Dalbeattie Star.
Dunfermline 1 Ross County 2 in League Cup. 86 minutes gone.
Glad Seb is getting another chance to impress. If he remains as positive he may look far more productive, given we now have more targets up top to put the finishing touches to his good work.
Rip it up and start again, Seb
Scales !!
Full time
East Kilbride 3 Cove Rangers 0 👍
Inq,
Great if you’re over in October,
I’ll catch the Provvy man or BRRB for a tap 😜😜😜
5 of the 7 English Championship games finish 2-1.
Zombies already feeling the consequences of failing to make the EL. After pulling out of the deal to sign winger Driouech immediately after the loss, the zombies sought to do a loan instead of a purchase and PSV told them to get stuffed. That tells me that finances rather than the alleged injury that caused the zombie change of heart.
It now it appears they have decided to offload LB Rommens (another sicknote who just joined the club in January). He will be replaced by James Penrice, who will now start instead of being back up.
hearing they are trying to offload several others, including what they see as high value assets, but people are balking at their valuations.
Wonder if Yang and Ralston are injured?
Ferry is a big loss for United.
Where I was raised in 70s “provvy man” could mean one of two things.
And one of them definitely didn’t get you clothes out of What Everyone Wants.🤣
Let’s do this Sellic!
Anyone for Tennis?
Baur to take the set pieces when on, something to keep an eye on.
Tough game for Delboy tomorrow
Surface looks great
Wide open spaces in United stands.
No audio on Celtic TV for me
We should have tried a setpiece there
Donovan throws straight to United player. Aaarrgghh!
Poor start
18 yards out with a throw in. It ends up with Sinisalo. Why?
Weak shot from Ox.
Wish Tounekti would jog right when he reaches the box, then shoot.
Scales with zero vision, puts Tounekti under pressure.
United hit post.
Scales at left back, just no.
That’s 6 touches (make that 7) and everyone has gone to Utd player, worrying.
Not just him though both CB’s always seem to clear straight to opposition.
Utd hit post, lucky😡
4 slack passes by scales he needs to waken up pure careless
Donovan’s first instinct is to go backwards. Really frustrating.
They again hit post.
Woodwork saves us again.
This is just garbage.
Two big chances missed by United. Celtic living dangerously.
That would be 2-0 by LASK.
Utd hit post, Lucky again 😡
Sinisalo with terrible pass to Calmac.
55 yard pass back by Trusty. WTF?
Calamitous defending and Utd hit post again.
Midfield not started game yet
Kasper heads over.
Cal showing Tounetki how to put a good cross in.
