I’m Pissed Off With Being Pissed Off
Morning, all.
There’s quite a bit to cover today after yesterday’s events, almost all of which happened to Celtic without us taking any active part. The one that we knew about in advance was the draw for the Europa League. It wasn’t particularly kind to us, but could have been worse. We don’t face any arduous trips to the other side of the planet, for starters. And there’s every chance of us making the post-group matches. Not much chance though of doing so without that qualifying round first for the round of sixteen.
Hot on the heels of the draw being revealed, we had the outcome of the SFA disciplinary process regarding our cup game at Ibrox in March. Quite incredibly-but not, in hindsight-surprisingly, they decided to treat both defendants as equally guilty. That means that they viewed an outpouring of joy and celebration, confined to a couple of dozen fans celebrating a win with the players, as being the same as the hundreds of hun hordes who invaded the pitch with only one thought in mind-to inflict damage on the away support. Both teams were told that their next home Scottish cup tie will be played behind closed doors, with a £100,000 compensation fee awarded to the other side.
My own thoughts on this are that the club-who vigorously protested the punishment in their response-will appeal this. Personally, I think they may be on to plums. There is no moral high ground when your fans have invaded the pitch, no matter the cause. We may not like that, but that’s likely to be how it is argued. Countermeasures like telling them to stuff their cup competition aren’t likely to even be considered. Not with our board who treat every penny as a prisoner.
The bad news kept coming too, with our Ibrox chums using the above as the perfect reason to cut our League Cup allocation to a risible 300. And no, I didn’t leave out a zero. 300 tickets barely covers the allocation for directors and other staff-I wonder how many we can fit in the dugout?-so the public sale will be somewhat limited. There are no rules on ticket allocations in the competition, so we don’t have a leg to stand on here. And we provided a rod for our own backs bin the form of previous pitch invasions, gleefully referenced by Der Hun. They might have failed miserably in their attempt to gain that moral high ground I mentioned, but they managed to move the narrative away from their woeful exit from Europe the previous night.
We, of course, are still getting it in the neck for our capitulation on Tuesday. Rightly so, I might add. MON didn’t try very hard to defend the indefensible, but the hacks were like a pack of rabid dogs. If it wasn’t the game itself, they wanted to know how it might affect our planned moves in the transfer market. Martin game fully said that he hoped it wouldn’t have an effect, but the three top candidates beforehand-Mahmic, Gineitis, and Sugur-look to have decided that they will be better served elsewhere. That’s their decision, though it probably serves our board well too. Our latest target is a 19yo Dutch guy with about the same experience as McArdle. And I’m not too pleased either with our lack of cover elsewhere, particularly in goal and at left back.
Still, today will hopefully allow us to forget about the above for a couple of hours at least. CalMac might miss the game due to a stomach bug, an avoidable malady caused no doubt by being stuck on a plane with Trusty, who had the same on the flight to Austria. I’d be surprised if CCV makes it, and the same goes for Høgh. This should give us a chance to see the lesser-spotted Osmand, at least for some of the game. Scales should start, but I have no idea who will replace our captain. That’s what happens when you lose our two most energetic midfielders without replacing them. And today is, I believe, the start of a run of weekend and midweek games all the way through to the first international break.
The board still have a couple of days left to get some bodies in to relieve the pressure on everyone, but hitting an injury problem so early in the season doesn’t bode well for the long arduous months to come. It is obvious that our squad is massively below the quality required, but for it to be massively short in quantity as well is a disgrace.
But, knowing our board, they will look at the drop in numbers of the playing staff and…fire somebody in payroll for being surplus to requirements. Not so many wages to be calculated, you see.
Everything that has happened this week has mightily pissed me off, as you may have noticed. I’ll still be pissed off tomorrow, amd probably for a while to come. But at least for those couple of hours this afternoon, I’m hoping to have something to cheer about.
Wouldn’t it be nice?

Fucking hell
Jamsie always makes a difference.
Wish he was 10 years younger!
Squeaky bum time again . Do we want to win this game .
AJ laughing.
What’s he got to laugh at? This is utter pish.
I’m just in what’s the score ?
Good reception for Luke, well done the home support.
Said all summer we need a cb. Still don’t understand what our coaches are seeing
FFS McCowan on.
Far too many players that can’t last 90 minutes.
Tounekti on to save the day 🙏🙏🙏
Anyone ??
Chamberlain was th best player on the park
We need a better keeper
Killie 0 Arabs 4
Wee scrote McCann’s jaikit on a shoogly?
The bizarre thing is we had a three good defenders on our books in June… Nawroki,Welsh and Sarrachi. To let them all leave is criminal. ..but highlights the systemic failures in our management, coaching and recruitment.
Iniq,
Glad McCann is getting found out.
Can’t stand him
This is torture to watch ….Coaching team and manager unfortunately haven’t a clog our mid field and Nygren have no strength….

Don’t you mean team, not just keeper

2-1
Celtic were up 2 early without really getting out of second gear. Falkirk havent shown much either, but just pulled one back.
Thanks for replying Mike !!
Engels and West Ham presently lying 19th in the EFL.
I find it hard to fathom that Tounetki and Balikwisha were two of our top targets last summer. £10m wasted.
Need to get young Osmand more minutes
Tounekti is simply atrocious.
I IV
Two assists in a year. It’s unbelievable….except it’s totally Celtic.
This is an abysmal watch.
Aye, you’ve had enough chances Seb!
Both Forrest and Osmond have offered a bit of pace and directness since coming on
Yass!!!I
Thank fuck
Made heavy weather of that-against a depleted Falkirk! Vast improvement needed.
McCowan looks like his confidence is shattered
McCowan is beyond useless.
That was just really poor. We don’t even look fit, the whole team sagged in the second half.
That’s a big 3pts
Another second half ” collapse”, not quite but enough to keep me and everyone concerned about the depth of quality in the team. I reckon we need 5 in before deadline.

We are one awful team and our management team have no idea, it’s off the cuff football we have not addressed the weakness that is the midfield since Scott Brown retired…
Mike,
I think Forrest always offers something from the bench. He’s experienced enough to know when to take it forward, and when not to run up a dead end
Where was and why Hatate not even on the bench ? Is he injured or off or does MoN just not like him ..
Simon Donnelly said pre-game that the Europa League draw gave opportunities for points both home and away.
What planet does he live on?
I’m pissed off not enjoying watching Celtic play
If our coaches think that defensive unit is good enough to play 60+ matches this season, I’d like to know where that confidence comes from
BAD
i wasn’t sure about JF at times earlier in his career, but he has turned into a really good pro. Always seems to put in a shift. Could do with more with his attitude
BFS,
We all loved Reo, but there’s an understandable reluctance to rely on someone who’s searching for his passport.
hH
Mike,
He also got smarter with that experience.I
I don’t understand those that don’t rate or like him, what a servant he’s been
Anyone struggling to find a way to watch the
football, Fawa streams never let’s me down. Think that’s about 3 years ago the wee man put me onto it, and it’s never failed once that I can remember
Hard to watch after midweek. 3 points and now Aberdeen on Wednesday. Just gotta keep plugging away till things click and reinforcements arrive.
Another second half clueless performance by our coaching staff
First half press and force them into mistakes.
Second half back off and run around chasing aimlessly which got worse with subs.
This is going to be a long hard season with this squad and coaching team.
Very poor , after watching our demolition of killie I thought we were on the up , but that was a below par performance , We had enough chances to win 5 games . Nygrens the worst offender today but he will find the net again .
I can understand why we weren’t great today, I just really wanted the 3pts and another week of football into the legs.
Bring in the necessary and we will have a decent team. We will definitely need cover at fb. We need the most obvious no6. When we have the majority available, we really should have too much for our opponents in Scotland
Honestly Just happy to win today. I don’t think that’s a game anyone will go searching for at the end of the season
Jim, I think Killie are just really poor cause they’re managed by a fraud.
Plus, they’ve lost the pitch advantage they had
