Grabbing players and points
It’s a big day for the PLC.
By 11pm tonight they must have satisfied off the pitch and on it as any dropped points are automatically going to be laid at their door.
Due of course by days like the last few days and especially today as that European squad needs faxed to Nyon late in the day. The alledged names have come thick and fast, as usual I might add at this time of the year. One is confirmed, several are juggling and if I had to guess I think today will see a triple whammy of signings unveiled with a further one on the Thursday, probably a keeper to be registered for Europe in the next window. One signing was unveiled, and the midfield gets a bit stronger. I love this signing, love signing Scandinavians as they not only dont mind the weather but really give their best, for better or worse, they approach the actual 90 minutes wholeheartedly in my opinion, fully committed.
And to be honest I’m not Italian footballs biggest fan with a real emphasis on defense, holding shape, set pieces etc. Thats why they fell off in my eyes. Sorenson would have been challenging for silverware infront of a smaller but passionate crowd in Midtyland. That a much faded Parma’s bench and no trophies has him ready for a change doesn’t surprise me in the slightest and he can gladly join our Scandinavian clique, which worked well last time under Wim.
What isn’t there to like about this deal especially with the try before you buy option?
If I were King I would have a strict rule of two outfield loans without an option to buy maximum, and they are cover at that. I dont mind a keeper on a no option loan, cover not profit is the most important thing for that particular position. The Chelsea kid(s) won’t have an option thats for sure.
Today will be a day of chaos, rumour, and possibly excitement as we get tooled up to fight on four fronts. It would really be nice if we also excited on the pitch by our slim pickings current squad. I’m glad this is a home tie, wouldn’t have fancied travelling with such paucity. Two spaces opened up on the bench, Kenny (leaving) and Osmond (injured) and thats alongside four missing starters (Jota, Hogh, KT, AJ) and questionmarks whether the Captain is okay to play? It looks like fortunate timing that we were forced to stock up through the deadlines. We need the numbers.
3 points and 3 players would be a bit of good business and generally help raise the spirits although it will not stop some rightfully asking the question why didnt you do this earlier? As far as actual purchases go, I agree for instance there was no World Cup holding Van Der Berg back. However I just accept this board goes hunting for ‘cover’ loans very late and tbh it no longer raises an eyebrow here.
Our buys have been spot on so far, I can only hope the rest will be the same.

Since I’m 5 hours behind GMT, I was hoping some deals would have been announced already. Talk about leaving things to the last minute! I mean, are we still haggling over pennies, or playing silly buggers a la Lawwell? How long have we been dicking around with Torino over Gineitis? It would be just like us to miss the Europa registration deadline, because there was a paper jam in the fax machine.
Look at what happened to Everton yesterday. Despite Moyes pleading for help, they punted Beto, and left the Balogun signing to the last day. Balogun turns up for the medical, then changes his mind! Moyes is left high and dry, and it’s far too late to get someone else. So instead of 3 strikers, he has ONE! The Everton fans are apoplectic, and have adopted our NOT A PENNY MORE policy.
All it needs to clinch deals earlier is a dynamic, forceful, effective negotiator as a CEO.
Oh! Wait!
Forget I said that.

Classy message from Reo
Besiktas say no deal to the huns for Raskin
Players still at Sevco whom they wanted to move on because they are high earners.
Miovski
Raskin
Souttar
Cifuentes
Nsiala
Chermiti
≈ £481,000/month
Estimated residual wages on loan players:
Danilo
Óscar Cortés
Bajrami
Barron
Cameron
other minor loans
≈ £65,000–£87,000/month
Correct total
≈ £546,000–£568,000 per month
I’d therefore use ~£555,000 per month, or approximately:
£6.65 million per year in wages they desired to remove but didn’t.
++++++++++++++++++
Sevco transfer-fee position is approximately:
£33.5m spent − £7.5m received = ~£26m net spend this includes Kelsy
++++++++++++
My sevco estimated 2026/27 wage bill is probably around £2½–3m higher annually than it would have been without this summer’s recruitment/retention changes. That is before employer NI, bonuses and other employment costs,
++++++++++++++++
Conservative estimate of £15m disappears due to euro failure at exactly the time Sevco have increased their transfer expenditure and appear to have increased their wage commitment.
My optimistic estimated forecast is that Sevco will post a £22m loss next summer.
It will be interesting to see if the SF49ers go from 51% ownership to 56% ownership. That would determine that they put up the entire 16m for this summers share issue. We find out in November.
I suspect what we are witnessing here is a boardroom battle with SF49ers obtaining outright control. 67% gives them overright control and not 75% due to Blue Pitch Holdings over what they voluntarily tell people, but it doesn’t give them a legal right to conceal information that Companies House, HMRC, UEFA, the SFA/SPFL 🙂 or other regulators require them to disclose.
+++++++++
I’d imagine that the 11% blue.pitch holdings,Putney Holdings Ltd, ATP Investments Ltd, Norne Anstalt will start communicating again and will be allowed to vote.
Given our very poor, if not disastrous recent transfer windows, this window has been a relative success.
It could have been better but it could have been worse.
The champions league is simply not a consideration for our board. We are on course for 6 in a row and if we get by sevco in the league cup, another treble is on the cards. Domestic success is all that matters to the people who run our club.

It’s also enough to ensure season books are renewed.
If it wasn’t enough Mr Desmond would probably vary his approach.
I should have added to my post above if SF49ers do cover my estimated £20m loss via a share issue next summer they do gain overall control. They then have 67% of an 89% shareholding.
I’ve said before that Murray and Desmond made similar miscalculations. Murray took rangers into massive debt because he thought there would be a European league which would have earned him billions. Desmond thought there would be a British league which would have earned him billions. When that didn’t happen he lost interest in our club. He has shown more interest in his golf club. We need a complete change of direction which will only happen when Desmond sells up and moves on. I don’t see this happening in the near future.
I know the Huns were probably desperate to recoup some of their outlay by selling guys like Chairmeaty, Ratskin etc, but anyone else think they were trying to offload wee Ratskin for reasons other than football?
If I’m not mixing him up with someone already gone from there, isn’t he known for being a bit of a problem child? I’m sure there was a falling out with Martin or Rohl, over him doing his best Barry Ferguson impression.
“I sometimes play for Belgium, and you’re a shite manager”
The fact there’s talk of a loan deal (😳) for someone they thought was gonna break the £30m barrier (Hold the tittering). Which shows how strange a bunch they are, cause the vast majority say he’s shite 🤣
They were going to sell Chermitti but played him and he got injured.
They then wanted to sell Ratskin, but were worried he’d get injured, so didn’t play him, and are now talking about him being loaned out to a Turkish team? (What a delight) Hmm
Confused? Not half as much as the deady bears are.
Wee Nico been caught talking about Del’s coaching ability? Or maybe telling him , to his face, what he really thinks of him.
All very strange indeed.

The other thing Desmond has in common with Murray is that neither are fans (in the normal understanding of the word) of the clubs they came to own, or of any other club for that matter. Murray’s primary interest was rugby, Desmond’s is either golf or horse racing.
Seems Feyenoord defender en route, can play RB and LB
The young striker from Chelsea looks like he will be a top notch striker. But not sure what the thinking behind this move is. Seems similar ro Arthur and Simpson Pusey last year – good young prospects, but didnt see many minutes. With Duran and Hogh taking most of the minutes, amd Osmond behind them, how much is he going to play.
Bada,
At the same time?
Dubaibhoy beat me to it.🤣
Mike in Toronto.
I’d play Mheuka part of every game just to get him started. He is that good.
We pissed off Simpson-Pusey big time, and lo and behold, when he left he went straight into a Bundesliga team!

What’s happened with Van Der Berg? He arrived at the airport with Sorensen, but only the Dane has been announced. Surely we didn’t screw it up?
I would be surprised if we actually buy anyone else.
Another couple of loans maybe
The Everton Fans’ Forum” issued a lengthy statement featuring widescale criticism of the club, saying the Toffees’ squad had been left “dangerously short” in key areas.
It added: “The conclusion of this summer’s transfer window leaves Evertonsupporters with serious questions about the club’s planning, recruitment and decision-making.
“This is not about demanding that Everton spend recklessly. Supporters understand the financial restrictions the club operates under. We are not demanding marquee signings simply for the sake of it.
“We are demanding competence, preparation and accountability.”
And the influential group “The 1878s”, volunteers who have created huge flags, banners and tifos to enhance the atmosphere at Everton‘s new Hill Dickinson Stadium, and whose efforts were described as “unbelievable” by Moyes, has responded to deadline day in similar vein.
In a statement it said it is “standing down for the foreseeable future” in protest, saying: “Like the rest of our fanbase, we are utterly disappointed and disgusted with how this transfer window has gone, especially the end of it.
“Also for fans asking, just to reiterate – when we design flags, there are rules and regulations that we have to adhere to regarding the wording on our flags during displays, we are not allowed derogatory or offensive wording or images.
“If we were able to get a load of flags in the ground to show our feelings of discontent, disappointment and anger over this whole situation, believe us, we would, but this is something that simply wouldn’t be allowed.”
Iniq
he does look like a real star in the making. But he’s Chelsea’s star in the making. Celtic need to start thinking seasons, not games, ahead. Osmond seems to be the future, so I’d like to see him get as many minutes as possible
The cynic in me thinks we are holding back the Van Der Berg announcement to make more palliative the “We couldn’t get the Gineitis deal over the line” simultaneous statement, thus saving the Board £9M or so for the one player that can occupy the gaping hole in the middle of our sieve-like midfield.
Rumours psv have pulled the vdb deal.
Feyenoord right back has played 49 times at left back
Aasgaard off from Huns to Anderlecht.
if Huns don’t shift Raskin I think they’ve could be in trouble. Think they have been banking on it
Positives from this window
We have cleared out something like 16 players who were never gonna be first team picks.
We seemed to have an initial strategy of quality over quantity and our scouting seems to have improved. Could be down to the ex Chelsea guy.
Negatives
we have the same dinosaurs doing the deals and taking forever resulting in another blown qualifier with a shit bench full of holes where cover should have been.
Last day panic buying again. Never ceases to amaze me how we can do 3 or 4 deals a day if it’s the last day of the window or euro registration yet it can takes weeks for one deal up to this point,
Rumor the zombies are in for Kieran Dowell … yes, the same KD they released a year ago. Would be funny if true😆
Though the Dutch lad looked great, and I was thinking we’d got him at a snip.
Too good to be true?
Rumours gineitis deal has collapsed.
might have been one of him Sorensen or vdb and we were keeping our options open.
We so need a left back but
Chelsea LB on loan incoming seemingly
A failed attempt to get Taylor on loan
if Elric had made the CL, i would have put the chances of signing hi at 50/50 at best. After LASK, i thought 5% at best.
Am I ever going to see Celtic buying a no6 before I die??
Absolutely unbelievable
Taylor failed. Thank fk
As it stands
20m in profit
So we’ve run out of time to sign a defensive midfielder in time to register for Europe?
Same old Celtic
Now tried to get Greg Taylor!?
We are a bad joke.
Correction 21m in profit.
Another healthy wedge of corporation tax on its way to the exchequer no doubt
Chelsea left back confirmed

Could be worse than I thought. That carrot Lucan may have failed to get both of them over the line.
I thought there was zero chance we’d get to the end of the window without buying a proper no6. How many years is that now?
If you told anyone, outside our support, this story they’d think you were at it!
Is anyone suprised the Ginietis desl collapsed. Were we ever seriously trying?
Bada,
I thought that deal was off too

Thats calmacs position and he ain’t moving for anyone. According to Alan Morrison he got pack passed 45 times over the two legs against Lask, Thsts 45 passes that took him out the game

£6.5 million for Hatate, Torino wanted €8 million for his replacement, shambles yet again
Triple H,
I’m angry for allowing myself to get kidded we were serious about buying a no6.
We are run by rat bag bastards
Ben Jacobs
@JacobsBen
Reo Hatate was already en route to join Blackburn Rovers on loan before Burnley hijacked the deal.
With Turf Moor and Ewood Park only 15 miles apart, Burnley were able to swoop in and secure Hatate permanently for £6.5m plus add-ons.
Teams up.
Deals being worked on, done or rejected all day.
Weeks of inactivity then this.
No way to run a business.
Sorry, it’s The Celtic Way To Run A Business.
Have we copyrighted it 🤔🤔
I’m losing track here. About £40M in, ( Maeda, Engels, Hatate, Kenny ), 4 loans, only 1 with an option to buy, no confirmation on Joel VDB, so basically no long term thinking about CL qualifiers next June or July. Back to the January cheap loan scenario.
What a Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition fiasco by these cheapskate bastards.
Ralston and Murray our only subs today if any of the back 4 are injured. 😱
Hope he brought his boots.
