Singing In The Rain
Morning, all.
It’s the last day of the Scottish transfer window today, and while it seems to have stretched on interminably, that is never long enough for our club to do the business required by the manager and the fans. I’ll start to deal with that mess and where we go from here tomorrow. For now, I’ll settle for discussing our latest match.
Aberdeen were the visitors, and their manager must be sorely disappointed in them. I don’t think they put in a single nasty challenge all night! After the visit from Falkirk at the weekend, another team who try to play the game the right way, it’s like a whole new ball game for us. Suddenly we aren’t having to jump out of the way of an assault any time we collect the ball, but I’m sure that normal service will be resumed when TFOD visit in just over two weeks.
We got to see some of our latest signings too as Mheuka and Sørensen made debuts from the bench. The former, an 18yo from Chelsea, looks a real handful, and I reckon we will be talking about this lad a lot over the coming months. The latter looks quite handy, a useful addition to the engine room. Pity they’re both on loan!
We started off on the front foot, Hassan in particular setting the scene for his evening by getting the first cross in after only two minutes. Our first corner arrived shortly afterwards, and the visitors already knew they were in for a hard shift. Made harder still on the quarter hour mark, when Nygren shifted the ball to Duran on the D. A shimmy to make space for the shot was all he needed as he blasted the ball past the keeper. Hit almost as hard as his screamer two weeks ago, and there is little doubt that we have a player on our hands.
We didn’t rest on our laurels, Nygren having a shot saved almost from the restart and Yang putting in a dangerous ball which Hassan couldn’t quite convert. Duran saw another effort saved, before Nygren scored his customary goal against the Dons. Another Hassan cross saw the ball break for him to fire home from 15 yards.
Aberdeen made a rare foray up the pitch just on half time, hitting the bar from a corner, but Donovan slipped the loose ball clear to Duran who quickly fed Yang to break clear. He slotted home from the edge of the area to put us on a solid footing for the second half.
Again, we started brightly with Hassan firing one over the bar from the restart. But we couldn’t keep up the momentum from the first half. This may have had something to do with the four HT subs made by Robinson to tighten things up. We created chances, forced plenty of corners, but it was only in the last fifteen minutes that we began to look dangerous again, with shots peppering the goal from Mheuka (Shim The Tim!), Baur, Forrest and Scales.
It was a comfortable enough win, and a good performance. No complaints from me. Well, maybe one. MIB Nicholson, who did his level best to reinterpret the advantage rule to his own meaning. Another ref who lets us know what we can expect the minute he sets foot on the pitch. Willie Collum will have his work cut out with him in future.
Onto St Mirren on Saturday, an 8pm kick off, our 100% record still intact. Smashing.

Hearts continue to improve after getting rid of their clown shoe of a Manager.
Thanks, JOBO. Great stuff as usual.
Awe naw,
Oh what a tangled web we weave …
Not sure how it affects the Americans and their plans to fleece the Huns, or strip the last bones of their carcass, but they’ve spent over £60m in the last two windows and actually are a worse team now, with less sellable assets.
I take it there’ll be a few more share issues then.
I think lots of them will consider this the straw that broke the camel’s back, when it inevitably goes knockers north
HH 🍀
Hibs just don’t have enough good players
BAD
@9.09
But there needs to be a sell on and I’m not sure either of them would move on for big money that’s the way these clowns work.
Sol Kitts,
The ‘foul’ by Hanley was minimum contact at worse.
Robertson hadn’t blown, as you say, play continued.
Then he gives a foul after Hibs score?
As I said Weird, would have been an interesting end to game.
HH
BAD,
Yeah they’ve spend the ST money Ibrox income. They haven’t used their own money
The original 51% was mainly gifted by the Delaware section of the old board. They are now squeezing the Ibrox section of the old board. The £36m they have spent so far is all that they have spent and they got shares for them and the Delaware section of the old board got circa £10m paid back in loans. So the consortium is down £26m so far. For that they control Ibrox are provided with a risk free money laundering machine with an ever reducing potential on the football side.
Awe naw,
Is it imperative, in your opinion, they are successful for the Americans to happily ride of into the sunset with the saddle bags bulging? Or will they fleece them with or without them being successful?
The Huns are acting like it’s too scary to even contemplate what happens if things don’t work out with Cavanah and co, so they’re going to instead deluded themselves these guys came halfway across the world to put the most successful club in the universe back where it belongs ..just cause it’s the famous, ya know? 😊
At least they’re providing me with no end of fun.
HH 🍀
BAD,
As long as the ST sales keep being sold then they will eventually make money. European participation is not as important as player sales but naturally anything they can gain on the way they will take. Next summer will be their last big investment in order to gain absolute control after that it will be financial blackmail via emotional blackmail downsizing and asset stripping. That’s 14 years they have been fleeced now another 14 will do the trick.
Awe naw,
On a level playing field the Huns know they were never really our equal, and the last 15 years has allowed them to vew it in beautiful Technicolour.
As ever though, I’d bet they’re still using every trick in the cheaters almanac …
Must be killing them.
BAD & Awe Naw,
I have given up trying to understand the huns finances.
The headaches weren’t worth it 😁

Watched Hibs Hibs it again on Paramount. tbh I intermittently watched it interspersed with Netflix because it was so predicable in a kinda Scottish cultural way. i.e. Pish football. Talked to the guy who I have started to pay to mow my lawn this year as I cannot be arsed anymore.
Anyway he informed me of 4 important things I need to know as a Scottish ferner. ( he called me Scot. Not sure why)
This is America!
New article.
https://sentinelcelts.com/2026/09/04/that-was-the-window-that-was/
My thoughts align with Bobby in that the window was good but the timing failed. Player wise Im delighted, our best window in decades raising the overall quality of the squad which afterall is the aim.
As for left back, we have 3 now (KT , Lotomba, Emenalo) so I don’t get the exasperation.
DM, the midfield looks very strong and the new bhoys will shield the defense better than the last bunch. Sorenson in particular looked like he sits deep and Baur is quick to recover and provide the double pivot.
We took out 4 loan deals. I dont mind a loan keeper at all, and as KT will always be first choice I dont mind a left back on loan in that position because if we buy one it would be wasted outlay and wages, therefore just waste the wage on someone else’s talent and use them whilst here. It seems that Bell-Walker struck up a most unlikely partner for loans in Chelsea because they correctly agree a club that must win every game is best for their youth at thats the correct mentality and thsts where Chelsea also wish to be as a club. Make no mistake, it is a good thing to have access to world class young players to fill our gaps and I for one am happy at this unofficial linkup.
Every department in the team is stronger and bar one monumental fuck up result which was a freak result I would be handing out praise to our PLC who rarely deserve it.
He was always going to spend and if I had asked you would you be happy with 35m spent and a better team you wouldn’t have answered no.
Hail Hail
AweNaw,
With regards to R2ngers you see conspiracy and plots were I see a plan. It might be a crazy plan yes, but the plan to replicate us in becoming a player trading club to help bridge the gap isnt the worst idea in the world.
In the catering industry a restaurant doesn’t make profits the first two or three years, that profit generally pays off the initial investment then the 2-10 years after opening brings the true profit.
They’ve bought a big squad and flashed the cash, I reckon they frontloaded Derek knowing they don’t need to touch the biscuit tin for the next three windows and should profit on their bunch then mayve spend some of that. From a footballing viewpoint I understand that approach because,,,,
a,,,their squad fell short last year in the split so making it bigger improves the odds of keeping the pace all the way
b,,,It was Martin who saved us and hes leaving plus we had a rebuild so the odds of being Champions this year and/or next year improve by spending big now.
c,,,they will spend and not bank therefore one turnaround in fortunes can result in a 60m plus for them, 40 from the CL and the 20 we bank annually. Hit that jackpot once and suddenly they could dominate.
Hail Hail
