Suspicious minds CSC

Thick and fast indeed as a city rival becomes the host with the winner promised a trip (at least) to Hampden Park to wrap up proceedings hand over the first trophy of the season.

It shall begin at 12.30 pm on Sunday presumably to slim down the bevvy consumption, but this one, nor any going further will have away fans which leaves me scratching my head. If theres no away fans why stipulate 12.30 Sunday anymore?

As was said I would rather lose this game than either of the next two and maybe its just me but I’m happy they are about to be pushed into producing and finding the dig from somewhere. We lost our last knockout away tie emphatically, I assume it was drilled into the players that never happens again.

The team looks a little refreshed, rejuvenated, and that process is rarely quick. In saying that how I would love a Daizen or a Yang today, I guess there is space for others to snatch their potential limelight.

How do I see Martin approaching the game? On the counter for the first 20 then hopefully clawed our way on top giving them more problems than they give us, and we take it from there.
I don’t forsee any tactical tweak, our crazy team selection or a wildcard, I think he will go business as usual and select the strongest side he can and he believes in. Duran is a cert, I reckon Sam kept the keepers gloves, Trusty is a cert to partner CCV as Liam will be needed around 60mins to cover leftback. I believe Martin will opt for the Ox over Baur, experience and all that, then when Baur does come off the bench the noise doesn’t phase him. Hassan on the left, Duran on the right is the only possible switch I would sanction, but even still I would have tried it before. I think it will be Tonetki left and Hassan right with Duran through the middle, then Hogh gets started midweek as Europe might suit his game better.

The real suspicion starts and ends with the refs and VAR, overcome them and we win.

We now have a new JustGiving page set up to enable donations to be made for our latest charity appeal.

We wanted to focus again on a local charity, and this time one which is dedicated to helping those suffering from homelessness, addiction or poverty.
The one we have gone for is

It’s here, folks! The return of our football and racing competitions!
SATURDAY 12th September is when the betting aficionados amongst us have to get our thinking caps on again.

As usual, our site will run a NAPS COMPETITION with some healthy prize money, and once again it will start on St Leger Day in September and run through till the last day of Royal Ascot in June. There will be a short break from the end of November till the end of January.

https://sentinelcelts.com/2026/08/31/saturday-naps-competition-2/

And for those whose betting interests are mainly centred on the football, we will also run our MAGNIFICENT SEVEN accumulator, starting on the same day and finishing when we no longer have eight leagues to pick from. Usually the end of April. Let’s hope that it gives us a more magnificent return than the litany of near-misses and total failures we got last term!

https://sentinelcelts.com/2026/08/31/saturday-football-accumulator/

We will be looking for volunteers for this year’s ACCA , so please join up!

Both these initiatives are FREE TO ENTER, so please click on the links provided.

Set your alarm half an hour earlier, it is a high noon ko.

I don’t see what Sinisalo has done wrong to be so easily discarded. Johnstone has played one competitive match in over a year. Perth is hardly preparation for what he will face at Ibrox.
Sinisalo has that experience, particularly in a cup game requiring ET and penalties.

Police Scotland should look in the mirror and across the city before lecturing Celtic on their behaviour Police Scotland warns Celtic over their general behaviour, but its failure to confront Rangers’ violent support exposes a shameful double standard.

Only difference between Police Scotland and union bears is balaclavas.
union bears probably use to protect off duty police in their midst being recognised.
Both entities are a cancer in Scottish society given tacit approval by establishment!

Good morning, friends.
Tomorrow’s starting 11?
I’m happy with either in goals but think it’ll be back to Sinisalo.
Full backs will be Donovan and Tierney
Centre backs – CCV and I’d play Scales ahead of Trusty
Midfield 3 – Callum the only certain starter. My own prefence would be Baur and Ox
Forward 3 – Duran and Hassan surely start. And while I expect Hogh, Tounekti, Forrest, Mheuka will all feature at some point, which one starts I’ve no idea – Martin may well stick with Tounekti.
Then there’s substitute contributions from Nygren and Sorensen
Strange that we will really miss Yang.

Saw the outcome of the VAR show.

Not in the least surprised. Collum has been under attack all summer by the Hun Media in Scotland. This show isn’t now about openess and transparency, it’s about self protection from the hoardes.

Either way, Collum loses, and someone will fall on their sword, as officials in Scotland are incapable of being impartial. Our day is coming (again). It won’t be tomorrow, but it will be soon enough.

For now though, ourselves alone..

Unfortunately .i dont think we are up to scratch for tomorrow,s game . Young Donovan will be pinpointed mcinnis will have seen he is slow .and prone to leave too much room on the left flank . But does anyone think we actually have a chance , weve new players who will not be used to the hatred aimed at them .Everything has been set up for this tie to suit them , imagine a scottish cup game and the sfa ban one set of fans from attending , hand picked officials will see to the rest ..mcinnes with his no one likes us rant ,has done its job. Every match they have played so far has had controversy in there favour , nothing will change tmrw they must win at all costs .As always i sincerely hope im wrong .

A great man and a Celtic legend once said ‘football without fans is nothing’.
He was right fans are everything, without them there wouldn’t be any football, the SFA should ponder on that.

St Stivs,

Thanks for the reply yesterday. It kinda reinforces my belief that Celtic FC Founded in 1887 got very big very quickly, also very successfully. Other Scottish football clubs enjoyed great competition thanks to the large amount of Celtic fans, none more so than the club from across the river. The Celtic ‘Brake Clubs’ meant that they could support Celtic from further away and get to the hallowed ground quicker. The first Celtic Park was rammed to the rafters, there must have been like now a huge appetite for football in Glasgow.

Also you are correct, the symbolism in Victorian times was everywhere and no doubt but that the club had a big say in designing the medals that we won, there was a lot of them. Willie Maleys influence was everywhere he too was a man of his time, there is a lot to thank him for.
Celtic FC one club since 1888. 😉

Someone on here asked the question why other clubs don’t complain about refereeing decisions. I think the answer is self-evident as witnessed at what has happened over the last few games.
St Mirren received the benefit of the doubt three times when they played us and a few days later were on the wrong end of an outrageous penalty decision when they played them and that’s how refereeing decisions even themselves out over the course of a season in Scottish football. When you play them you get robbed and when you play us we get robbed.
It’s very likely there will be controversial decisions in tomorrow’s game, there normally is, and these decisions will go against us, they normally do and our board won’t say anything, they normally don’t.

‘Mindset’ is obviously going to be a biggie today and there was an interesting read in the National this morning from a PHD doctor, former player at Celtic and now employed there in the background team. It basically covers how he tried, and initially failed, at Celtic then took up studying what makes for successful players coming through (and he now has a role in that area). Uses Colby Donovan as a recent success story, with revealing information about how young Colby goes about his work.

Longish read but it’s raining outside and we’re not playing until tomorrow. IF you are interested.

If Trusty and Tounetki start we will struggle.Scales if nothing else is a warrior and will battle in what I think will be a long ball barrage from them. I would play a midfield 5 with Nygren behind Duran and everyone else in there up for the scrap. I’m just not sure we have those players but I would play Baur, McGregor and Sorensen in the midfield and maybe the Ox makes the 5. Even the best of our wingers have disappeared in Mordor. Don’t bother with them. Play it long for Duran and get up to support him.
If I see the two T’s in the starting line up I’ll watch something else.

Farage is a grifter exploiting the usual far right tropes espoused by right wing billionaires, especially those who own newspapers. Hide our collosal and absolutely obscene wealth by pointing fingers at minorities and blaming them for everything, whilst we screw the peasants of more and more of their wages.
Shady US right wing Christian orgs and billionaire individuals as well as certain state actors fund the far right in the UK.
This isn’t even news anymore.
That’s what you get when you let capitalist oligarchs run the world.
