Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Morning, all.

We all saw what happened on Sunday, we watched it just as we watched the Champions League qualifier in Austria. And the only difference between those games and every other game this season, no matter how poor the opposition, is that our opponents took some of the many chances they created.

Sunday was a new low though, as we didn’t look like scoring. Various theories have been suggested why this happened, and many remedies have been proposed. The most obvious problems in fixing a problem are firstly to recognise that the problem exists, and then to diagnose the causes. If I’m honest, the problem was identified on here weeks (or even months) ago, and the management team did sod all about it. Now, with even the MSM spouting forth about the issues, it surely cannot be ignored any longer.

However, MON has long believed that his preferred starting XI and formation is the best available to him. He very rarely even tinkers at the edges, never mind ripping up the gameplan and starting all over again. Subject to injuries and suspensions, what we have seen is what we will get. I honestly do not think we will see different personnel or tactics  tonight from what we have been watching all season.

That should make the Ferencvaros coach’s job that bit easier for him. If he can virtually guarantee how we will line up, and how those players will be utilised, it certainly makes the job a lot easier for him. After that, it’s down to how the respective teams perform on the night. One thing in our favour at least is that we won’t have to deal with the Scottish refereeing fraternity, though they return in force on Sunday. MIB Beaton and VAR Walsh means they aren’t taking any chances.

I hope I’m wrong about our manager’s intransigence, and that he finally does something about the gaping hole where our midfield should be. Otherwise, tonight’s match is going to feel like a lot more than ninety minutes. Ideally, we put on a performance tonight that makes us forget all about the weekend just gone, and sets us up for an entirely more pleasant experience in front of 60,000 UFBs.

I know which of the two scenarios I prefer.

This is what happens, when you appoint a manager you didn’t actually want.
Fkd up the Askou deal, then took cold feet on Keane, to then be left with MON, as no one else would touch it.

BAD

Spot on , unless board go nothing will change. We have had Rodgers (twice) and Ange leave the club because they weren’t getting backed We deliberately downsize when in a position of strength. None of it is good business sense. We are more interested in keeping the huns relevant than making our club the best it can be.

We are so slow and predictable in our build up and that is 100% on Calmac. Players defer to him. He asks for the ball from three yards so he can pass it straight back. This slows the build up. If he does go forward it is when he hits it sideways but slightly forward to the wings. He very rarely goes through the middle and this is because he has no idea what’s in front of him. Ccv gives it to scales. I dunno why cos scales is a ditherer. Calmac asks scales for it so he can give him it back so he can dither again. Compare with Ferencvaros who move the ball back to front quickly and slickly,

Baur threw his hands up in frustration at Calmac who stepped behind a man and hid as Baur was about to pass to him.

Desmond’s snakes will be along shortly to try and bore your to death with nonsense about financial regulations and fair play, and how Celtic need to be really careful with what they spend cause …We could go out of business you know.

The cretins have been waffling a lot of shite in these Celtic sites for years

Telling us nonsense about how this type of language isn’t helpful, and we should all be sitting round holding hand and singing Kumbaya.

Yep cant disagree
As I said in my first post , went from 1966 till Strachan era , Hampden and all. Came back when Rodgers was first appointed as thought we had turned a corner, left again after Ange Wont be back till this board is gone though way its going i will be gone first.

As much as it pains me to say it Martin is not the man to take us forward and we desperately need a new manager HH

My last word on this…

This is exactly why I have again boycotted all the cup games. We are not a serious football club. We’re a clothing retailer (10 shirts released so far this season-excluding golfing apparel) with a Works XI.

I predict now that we will not, at any time, leave the bottom 12 of this league table, which means automatic elimination.

If I’m wrong I will donate £10 to our nominated charity. I invite any like minded malcontents to similarly pledge.
Come on guys – we’ve got to generate SOME excitement from this campaign! 😔

Desmond should be left in no doubt nothing less than his removal is acceptable.

Take yourself, your son and your creepy lackeys and get to fuck out our clan.

Let us at least try and repair some of the massive damage you have done to our great club.

You are no longer welcome anywhere near the stadium. Please do the right thing and give the club over to people that care, as you clearly don’t!

G64 Martin should never have been put in the position to take us forward. The lethargic leadership of the club took the soft option for them instead of progressively leading the club/company. Or, maybe I’m totally wrong and they have led the company very well.

Granny Mac bhoy.

Totally. Lazy appointment,

Two seasons ago, Brendan’s second season. We start off by beating Chelsea Man City et al preseason. Go on a decent euro run. Give Bayern a fright. Win the league in a canter,

Undermine him, send him duds rather than kicking on. All hell breaks loose and now here we are after a season from hell (apart from last half dozen games).

Reappoint MON to take the press conferences and the same inexperienced out of their depth coaching team, All of whom seemingly defer to Calmac

I feel sorry for MON and Calmac……two of the best we’ve ever had. Of course the blame lies with the useless twats running the club. I almost gave up last year after the Dundee United fiasco (I’ve been an interested Tim since 1962). If we lose Sunday, I’ll be moving on for awhile.

Before MON committed to this season, we extended the contracts of Scales, McCowan and 2 others, whose names I forget ( might have been 2 from Forrest, Ralston, Yang ).

He signed off on these extensions. When asked about it, and why he was not leaving these decisions to the new manager, he said, “Any manager in the world would want these players.”

I nearly fell off my chair, a la LEGGY😊, and thought to myself, “ He’s havering.”

Hoop Hoop, spot on. I feel sorry for the generations behind me who are being deprived of seeing Celtic close to their best. As my daughter says, I would just like to have my time when Celtic punch above their weight for a time in Europe. She thought the Bayern game was maybe the level that we could do now and then. If we were flirting with our bank balance being a tenth of what it is then ok, however there is an agenda upstairs that we have yet to uncover.

I agree.

Two years ago, my eight year old grandson said to me in all innocence, “You’re an old man!”

I looked at MON during the game and that saying came back to me. Tragically, it is so true.

Still massivly p’d off after last nights latest capitulation. My starting 11 player ratings.

Sinisalo: Keep as number 1, as we have no alternative, decent enough keeper with a piss poor defence in front of him
Donovan: Massively overrated player. Lots of energy, produces the odd decent pass but has little to no defensive nous. Gets caught out of position way too often. Has youth on his side; may improve.
Carter-Vickers: Long past his sell-by date, injury-prone and slower than an arthritic Clydesdale pulling a fully laden brewers’ dray uphill. Should have been replaced in the summer
Scales: Where to start? Error-prone, mistake a game type, a back-to-the-wall, no-nonsense defender with very, very limited footballing ability, strangely given the responsibility of playing the ball out from the back, which he can’t do. Should have been replaced in the summer
Tierney: A pale shadow of the KT we used to know. Rarely lasts 90 mins. Occasionally we get a glimpse of the KT of old, but these are becoming a rarity. A £50k P/W indulgence. A replacement is needed urgently.
McGregor: Another of the ‘past their sell-by date’ players. A Jedi master of abrogating responsibility, playing in a role he is obviously not suited to. A £37K P/W indulgence. Hang up the boots Cal – it’s over.
Baur: Lots of energy moves around the park a lot; not sure what role he is supposed to fill. Maybe a good un’?
Hassan: Not overly sure about our new winger. Flatters to deceive type or a real player. Time will tell
Sorensen: Was he actually playing? Will need to do a whole lot more if he wants to earn a permanent move.
Forrest: Our own Peter Pan. Actually best player in the hoops last night before fading and being replaced. Millions of pounds wasted on useless wingers so we have to call on the venerable Jamesie who really should be at home in his baffies polishing his ginormous collection of winners’ medals
Durán: A poor night for him, but he has shown real quality; another ‘good un’ i think

MO’N, Maloney and co. Shoogly peg guys, shoogly peg, and it would appear you don’t have a clue how to fix it. Got to be their last chance on Sunday, albeit i can’t see our board doing a thing, even if we are pumped again, as Martin is Desmond’s mate
