Back to the grind

Rather than feel like a break the lengthy spell alongside the headlines almost had me believing Man City just plain murdered football and it had left this world.

Such a travesty won’t take place on our watch and so its back to the grind, and when I say grind I mean grind. A “testing” period lies ahead, and I’m not just talking about the boardroom/fan tussle, Celtic will be facing good sides. There are 9 games in this block before the November break, and to emerge with heads held high would take a standard of play thats yet to emerge this season.

This block of fixtures basically defines our season, really tough or not. Losing to Benfica is a given, Fir Park on Sunday is the only chance to squeeze a W in between for L’s in the recent form guide. Those at Hearts will be watching carefully because what is pulled out of the hat this weekend they face next, and supposedly the data and manager are in tune to find our gaps, gulp.

Clusters of games are often used as benchmarks, and it must be said the manager needs some type of response from the squad for them.
Whatever he has done over the last 3 weeks might be Martins last roll of the dice. If the players want him gone here’s their prime opportunity. On the flip side if ever the team needed home backing this is our prime opportunity and now we know for reasons beyond the players control instead of encouragement and songs the negative audibles with be amplified, great timing.

I’ve never known a straightforward SPL win to be so necessary and so meaningful. By hook or by crook we need to win this match but straightforward SPL wins and Celtic aren’t the best of friends recently, been on the rocks for a while actually. We need a ray of sunshine through the gathered clouds and some excitement injected back into our lives and theres only one team for the job.

On a footballing level Im happy to face Motherwell as they try to play which suits us, good surface, and the away fans in full voice. Its a pity our one and only gold medal winner (?) is injured, I wanted Yang to storm back triumphant like Caesar, and lead us to victory. Someone definitely needs to lead us to victory, Callum and the OX had a holiday then two weeks to prepare for this game, be nice to see either stepping up. I heard the left flank is very light but I still dont want Tonetki there, James if needed.

A non 3points lackluster performance will likely see the sky cave in on Celtic Park, Benfica will add to the pile in, leaving the Jambos as the ticking time bomb to derail us.

Please Sellic, deliver some respite to the masses. Bring those points home.
Up The Hoops!

Danny McGrain tifo v Motherwell

Fans are asked to make the effort to be at their seat early and to raise their material to produce a tifo in tribute to Danny.

After consulting the family, the Green Brigade will also make a donation to an Alzheimer’s charity in Danny’s name.

Apologies for my failing memory but who was it that plugged ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ as their best series ever? Take a bow, sir!

Pleasantly surprised and extremely pleased to read Bauer had gained his first cap for Germany, and, by coincidence their 1000th player to do so.
Only man in our midfield who has given one hundred per cent in every game and shown commitment and skill. To me he looks and plays like the early Hatate ( notice he made one scored one yesterday).
No doubt the Board already salivating about a huge fee in January 2027.

What a boost it would be if AJ, Jota, Osmand and Van den Berg could stay fit enough to be added to each match-day squad. Along with others returning from international duty, the squad would be much healthier for it.

A win, any win, would be a great boost to the moral of the team, as well as us fans.

Fuck Desmond, back the team!

MON looking to get his jotters – a la BR- with that line up? That has to be a f* ck you to our Board surely ??

Murray and Tounetki!! Trusty benched.

I think I’d be prepared to give Mheuka a run of games leading the line.

I see he scored another belter for England again. The guy is certainly built for the rigours of Scottish football.

I don’t really care what a player costs, I just want anyone who best equipped at this moment to do the job.

Tounekti 🤔

Sinisalo, Donovan, Murray, Scales, Tierney, McGregor (c), Baur, Nygren, Tounekti, Durán, Høgh

Subs: Johnstone, Lotomba, Trusty, Jota, Sørensen, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Hassan, Mheuka, Forrest

Do they not learn that Nygren and Tounekti does not mix!

October 11, 2026 11:02 am

Just saw the team, and immediately asked BMCUWP, “What does McGregor need to do to get dropped? Headbutt Martin?”
And Tounekti? My flabber is completely gasted.
Ox on the bench again, why did we bother signing him?
Murray and Scales in the middle of the defence is unbelievable.
Feels like we’re being trolled.

That Donovan is top and Calmac 4th in our POTY sums up how truly woeful we are
Donovan is an honest trier who gives his all but is poor in football terms.
Calmac is a huge reason we can’t defend or attack and have no onfield leadership.
I guess the old adage of if you throw enough shite against a wall some will stick has merit.
With some luck football or a semblance of a system will appear giving us more clarity in our choices.

Team looks like we picked names out a hat.
Probably a Huns tammy if Despot had a say in it.
Our squad on paper is nowhere near as bad as Mon and the gormless Maloney and Fotheringham are making it look.
our coaching staff are utterly clueless.

October 11, 2026 11:53 am

Dear,dear dear! It’s getting worse.
On paper can’t see any cohesion coming. Duran not centre means he’ll be in the huff and we have better players watching.
However…… COYBIG What else can you do?

Tounekti playing well for once . Maybe we should have had Jota in the bench even with his stookie. His presence seems to have an affect on him.
