Such A Pleasure
Morning, all.
There’s little doubt that Sunday gave us our best performance of the season, and probably the calendar year, so far. And it even gave us the chance to play our own Ode To Joy, the Theme from the Magnificent Seven! What was on paper a very awkward proposition turned into a stroll, and don’t be fooled by the SMSM pointing their fingers at a shocking defensive display. They are simply up to their old tricks of refusing to give us credit for anything while trying to sow doubt and discord in our ranks.
The SMSM knives were definitely out leading into this match, with the chopping block being prepared for players and management alike. Had this game gone as they wished, it would have been a bloodbath with accusations being thrown at everyone. I mean, that daft old codger Keevins had us finishing the game in third place had we lost, blindly ignoring the facts as usual. Which were that no matter the result on the day, the league positions of the top three would remain unaltered with Celtic at worst maintaining a slender advantage. It takes a special kind of warped mind to make that the gist of your weekend article, yet there it was in black and white. Makes me wonder if they still employ proof readers at his failing rag.
Callum Osmand again seized his chance to stake a claim for a regular starting position while assuring us that he can be called upon when required. Camilo Duran made his own point about where his best position is by turning his defensive opposition inside out. Total panic anytime those two got near the ball. Hassiem Hassan had his best game, leaving his markers for dead rather than simply running into blind alleys at every turn.
But while Baur also had a game to remember, I thought the midfield and defence were guilty of allowing Hearts too many opportunities at goal. And the one they took was down to our old failing of leaving the D unmarked for an opponent to stride into and line up his shot while under no pressure. In other words, I think it’s too early yet to say for definite that we have turned the corner, that our frailties are behind us. But it is a helluva good start!
The games are coming our way thick and fast with the constant weekend-midweek-weekend programme which takes its toll on minds and bodies. Our midweek opponents will obviously face the same problems, but our domestic ones won’t-apart of course from Hearts, our weekend opponents just gone. In other words, every weekend will see us playing a fresh team, one which hasn’t had the grind of a long midweek flight plus a tiring ninety minutes against quality opposition. There’s little doubt that we need European football, nor that the players look forward to it-but ask them about it on a Friday morning and they might not be quite so enthusiastic!
But don’t think that I’m pissing on everyone’s chips after a tremendous display and trying to downplay it. Not at all. I’ll be rewatching Sportscene a few times come what may, it’s such a pleasure to hear the pundits congratulating our team through gritted teeth, etc. I hope it has given the players a real confidence boost for the weeks and months ahead, reminded them of who they are and why they are wearing our jerseys. I would certainly rather be basking in a 7-1 hammering than sulking after another doing!
We move onto our next two matches, at home to Celta Vigo then away to Hibs, with a new found spring in our step. It may be too that MON has some thinking to do regarding his best XI, especially now that Jota looks ready for his first starts. I might be inclined to leave that for another week or two, but probably not if the only other option is Tounekti. Meantime, he can focus his attention on our midfield, which I don’t think is the finished article just yet. Put that marvellous old brain to work, Martin, and dredge us up a winning formula. There’s a good lad.

One of a myriad of posts from folk who are Celtic supporters who do not go to Celtic Park, struggle to go for whatever reasuons of his own, even when offered free tickets he does not go.
i dont doubt the guys “love of Celtic”but it is his decision not to go,to stay at home instead of going to a game,or is working as he does, thats life.
Like the poster,we are all invested decades supporting Celtic, the 11 on the park, think back to the 70s with average attendances 21,000 or so I wonder what the substackers fears and aspirations would have been for the next generation, there was never any vision of a 60 000 seater(not omitting expansion chat).
The emotional tug of the substacker does not work.if he is worried about future generations and experiences of Celtic, there is only one way to safeguard that, thats by attending and breathing In every second of the experience with his son or daughter.
Sittin typin an emotional essay on how he doesnt go,he is choosing his path, with a tear in his eye maybe,we bit mythology to him,but walking away from havin a say in any future,I cant imagine that,
it reminded of p1 of Brendan Sweeneys Celtic Early Years,”think of a time Celtic did not exist”line-oursubstacker is choosing his path away from the history Celtic is.i wish he wouldn’t and I hope he re-engages(even tho i cant understand not goin in 1st place)

And there may be many who are thinking the same about you and your stance.
It takes all sorts.csc

My dog is 16 yo but has cushings disease and losing eye sight rapidly. So its palliative care, unfortunately a decision has to be made when quality of life is reduced.
Think we are talking next month tbh.
Fantastic goal by Doué to put PSG one up.

Sounds to me that you were always looking for a creed to believe. Celtic is not that. It’s a business. You have not been paying attention
Mags…you may have disowned the creed, your choice, though many still believe in it. But it still brings you back time after time after time. No criticism from me but there’s certainly irony in your position.
McCaff
what is the irony?
and I don’t mean standing behind you for 2 minutes at the wedding present last year.
I don’t see any irony to be honest
please explain
THE REAL MCOY yes ,but its not the big shop😎😎😎😎
Prestonpans bhoys yes one of our westies is showing signs of dementia he is 15 used to be a big eater now very little so I no where you are coming from, all the best to you and your dog buddy👍❤🙏
The irony is you can’t leave Celtic behind despite your misgivings and criticisms of the management of the Club. The same thing that Nabbla sees and wants from the Club, what you bought into in the first place keeps you interested despite the shit.
Dharma Bam
Mines is not a stance my friend:-)
Its called going to see Celtic.
Nowt beats it,its just a truth.
if we win all the better.meeting fellow Tims from all over makes it stronger. They cant make it due to geography or work i knew what thats like.
The stance imo is taken by the subscriber in his rich and florid, wee bit emotional essay on no goin.
Onto Celta and a victory God willing

So supporting Celtic is to do with faith?
Every day I open my alter to Vishnu
Picto hindoo and hope I come back as a rabbit
Fuck a lot and get to eat my own shit
oh wait
McCaff
Not really
Its a Hindu thing
You don’t have to support Celtic to be a good person
Long range shooting by Barca against PSG
Not a good sign
Is anyone else have issues with there “dodgy” box – as in – nae channels on offer and all favorites being wiped?
Random, Mags!

Depends how your firestick is setup to servers. I have 3 subscriptions. Two for the telly stuff, for robustness. One was buffering so moved off to the other.
The film one is goosed as the server farm was boomed by the Russians 🫣
Billy Bhoy 👋🏻
sometimes your ‘app’ needs re-booted or updated.
Consider consulting your provider 😉

Firesticks have a shelf life.Maybe a new firestick required.my man recommends getting a new 4k stick to anyone experiencing these probs.other than that refresh at log in, clear cache or try rebooting everything.

2-1 to PSG. Great header from Hernandez.

Fantastic goal from Yamal. 2-2
3-2 PSG. Moutinho.
Villarreal are below Celta Vigo in La Liga. They go 2-0 up at Anfield, but can’t sustain it. Now down 4-2.
Illustrates the scale of our task on Thursday.
Long range Vitinha PSG 3-2.

Ruiz. 4-2.
Hogh’s replacement at Bodo/Glimt, reserve Helmerson, scored his 13th goal this season at Napoli, where they are down 4-3, including 2 from McTominay.
Good game between PSG and Barca. PSG arent quite as flashy, but are so solid from front to back. Deserve to be ahead. And as I said last week, their midfield is just superb.
This PSG game is excellent!
Billy Bhoy
Follow the firestick maintenance and update advice the bhoys are offering you. I just assumed your provider would offer that advice previously. Mine certainly does, even gives a free cleaning app for cache etc 👍
Ends 4-2 to PSG. Great game, especially the second half.
An extraordinary 40 goals in 9 CL games tonight.
Beware !!! I wouldn’t recommend to buy a new firestick. !!
Amazon have removed the sideload feature you can’t download and install any apps (such as the free Soccer/Movies apps) that are not officially in the play store.
Amazon have done so by removing FireOS and are now using their new Vegas OS which does not allow you to sideload apps any more.
Mags…there’s no suggestion from me that you’ve got Celtic wrong. It was your reply to Nabbla that I found ironic then the introduction of religion and the assertion that you don’t have to be good to support Celtic. As i say, random! 😉
Are you going to QMU for Wedding Present on Thursday…or will you be at Parkheid? 😂😂😂
McCaff
No
I won’t be paying for either Celtic or the wedding present. Nothing ironic about that unless your religious
Thanks for all the advice guys.
My son who is way more tech than me is going to take a look at it tomorrow.
Fingers crossed its an easy fix.
