I’m going to be brief for once, as there’s really nothing to say. My words mean next to nothing, Celtic will do their talking on the pitch, and no doubt give us plenty to talk about rendering a lead article virtually useless.
I don’t want this journey to end but chances are tonight is Parkheads last European foray for the season.
Chances are we get beaten.
Chances are the enormous gap in both clubs finances shows itself when the final whistle blows.
But chance itself is a fickle thing, never to be relied upon, but to be fully celebrated when it smiles on the unfavoured, the underdog, the lucky recipient. I’ve seen bigger clubs than Bayern walk away from East Glasgow stunned. Watched much better players than Harry Kane leave empty handed. Saw 11 heroes in Hoops leave European football shocked and bedazzled.
I’ve only one wish, and it’s not a win or even a draw.
It’s a simple wish.
It’s that we truly give them a proper game tonight.
If the Germans progress they progress, but I want them to be made to work for it, to be forced into digging deep.
Leave it all on the pitch Celtic, walk off that sacred turf knowing you truly gave it everything you had, and let the footballing God’s deal with the rest. If you go down, go down fighting.
We’re all behind you, you’ve made us proud.

When games like tonight’s come along I usually have just 2 hopes. Firstly that with 15 to go we are still in the game. Secondly, that at some point tonight we have reason to go wild in the stands – i.e. we take the lead or equalise…. or save a penalty…. or similar.
Anyway, we are far shorter odds than either Plymouth or Queens Park so it’s not mission impossible here, just mission unlikely!
We will get chances against Bayern who play a high backline and can be exposed to pace as a result. It’s a question of keeping composure and clinical finishing when presented with the opportunities we will get.
At the other end resolute defence, heroic performances from Kasper and the Bhoys required.
Should be a fantastic game, full of incident.
Cannae wait.
Definitely a match that I wish I could attend. But I’m sure my Dad and my sisters will take great pleasure in telling me all about it in three months when I next see them.
Hopefully they’ll have plenty to talk about.
I reckon the first fifteen could be crucial tonight. Hold fast at one end while creating at the other. Get a grip in midfield. Win our battles at the back. Win them in the middle. And most importantly of all…

i think we will score. I think we will concede 3. Our biggest issue against top quality is the lack of protection our midfield give our defence. We need a strong defensive mid for these games but the rest of the season they would be twiddling their thumbs in the stand. And that probably doesn’t make it viable.
That said Bayern had 30 shots at goal against feyenoord and lost 3-0 with the only 3 shots feyenoord had. So faith is always there to be kept!

As for why MAGS hasn’t been banned yet,it’s got nothing to do with him setting the site up for us. Nor does he contribute financially,as has been repeatedly alleged by people whose only interest is in stirring.
It is because he knows the site rules,and sticks to them. Having comments deleted happens to him more than to others,but nothing is enough for an outright ban.
There have only ever been two outright bans from here,and I don’t envisage a third.

We have met them a few times in European competition, tonight would be the perfect time to register our first win against them.

First time I saw Kompany-17yo in 2003 when he played against us-I hoped we would sign him on the spot. Even though we had the likes of Bobo and Mjallby,etc,at the back. I wish Alex Ferguson had been as impressed.

If Brendan is here for the long-haul, I expect us to keep progressing to the point of going into these ties confident we can compete ..that’s how much I believe in him.
If I have one hope for what’s left of this season, it would be our manager committing his future to us. I can’t think of anything more important than holding onto the best manager we’ve had in a generation.

I reckon that they fear what is really needed to make R2ngers operate sustainably ie a change of culture which means a drop in support as well as loss of headlines encouraging readers that they are the peepul that has provided journalists a good living for quite some time.
It’s just a theory of mine based on the likliehood that support will fall, hopefully from the bigots who cannot stand the idea that they aren’t the peepul anymore.
By how much we can discuss but my guess ie not a fact is it will be around 10k.

GT has been playing well recently but big Schlupp is taller, faster and stronger than him and I hope he starts tonight. Greg is fine for domestic games but I think he’d be a bit of a liability against this level of opponent.
I’ll be very disappointed if I’m back on here later pointing out that this was the reason for our defeat!

If Tierney had signed in January, this decision would have been a non decision, so don’t see why it should be regarding schulpp?
Also schulpp would be very familiar with the game of olise, with being teammates at Palace.
Still believe schulpp is a player of higher quality than Taylor, but Taylor seems to remain a Rodgers favourite at present.
Big decision admittedly, and still hope Rodgers opts for schulpp, even if I think it remains unlikely.

I decided to take a rest from the blog because I did not find the topics being discussed interesting. To me, they seem circular. That is all. I have not taken the hump with anyone.

The rebusette broke three bones in her right foot and we are going to see an orthopaedic surgeon, some distance away. Mobility is difficult as she uses crutches and has an heavy inflatable boot on her right foot. The situation swings between comedy and tragedy..it is a tramedy, I suppose 😰
