Organic money vs Borrow FC

Firstly I’m delighted with this fixture, because I’m a firm believer that tough games are actually the best thing for this team right now. Doing well despite not firing on all cylinders, a tough opponent in a very meaningful game shall either bring out our best, or teach a hard lesson.

Of course I lean towards the former, Brendan has a fantastic record at Hampden, maybe the best of any manager, because he has the knack of getting the team fully motivated for the big occasion. Not only that, but we are hard to beat fullstop, not many teams out there have a solo blip around Christmas time.

I don’t live or die by trebles, this trophy won’t make or break my year, but lifting all three would obviously be progress, which does grab my interest and imagination.
I’m watching a club knocking the door of the next level, so I suppose it’s only natural silverware would follow. And it will, but no one yet has won everything, all the time. By no means is victory guaranteed, not by a long stretch. The bookies may have us at generous odds, but anything can happen on the day.

Of course I didn’t watch the midweek return of Ange to Glasgow, but the result and match descriptions tell me a couple of things,,their players were confident enough to forget the wage/stature/star status of Spurs on the night, enough to impose their game for spells, enough to score,,,the confidence of holding an EPL name in front of their own fans will more than likely provide a timely confidence boost as they once again play in Glasgow in front of their own fans, not exclusively obviously but still being yelled forward.
It’s already a hard game, and it looks like they’ve found form which eludes us currently yet we grind out point after point.

But here’s the rub.
This Cup Final is the ideal opportunity to kickstart our second wind of the season, to bond as a team, to really show the players the light at the end of the tunnel.
As the opening line said, I’m delighted with this fixture,,it affords us the opportunity to hit second gear again, and take much heart if achieved.

I’m faraway but know a few Bhoys going, and I’m sure it will be a memorable trip, but I ponder how much lifting a Cup affects the entire club?
From the top down, it can’t hurt but vindicate our new salary tier, our record signings, the manager, coaches and scouts.
Commercially, that’s what they want. Both merchandise and sponsors, which incentives higher income.
Finally, football operations. There’s a reason player after player has repeated the old cliche after getting a personal cheer upon hoisting the Cup in front of their support,,’This is what it’s all about!’

None of us know the pressure of playing for a global giant, live the day to day life of a modern footballer. As a homebird with a big dog, beautiful wife and likewise young daughter, I couldn’t do it.
They do, day after day, month after month, year after year.
To reach this point in their lives, to say it was all worth it, to actually be a winner fullstop.
I’ve gotta imagine there’s a release of tension, maybe a surge of self confidence, perhaps a realization this is where you’re meant be,,,and I’m entitled to dream (perhaps foretell) that the second half of our season begins here, lifting that Cup and using it as a springboard to hit that early season form again and be fully onpoint for the tough winter schedule then the business end of the season.

For several players it’s the ultimate showcase.
I don’t think Engels nor Trusty have won anything in their careers,,I’d start them both and tell them if they want some medals and tales for the grandkids later in life, here’s their chance so go and do it.
The 3 Samurai seem to thrive in the heat of this paticular battle, a good game from each would put many minds at ease, whilst late on (surely) Adam will have another chance to be the toast of Cork City, Glasgow, Central California, and many places in between.
And I cannot leave out Kasper, on his last hoorah but still the difference-maker on occasion. He deserves a medal, at least one.

We have personal stories, we have personal points to prove, we have two opposite managers with what seems like two good sides going at each other.
Sounds like Ange-ball however he couldn’t beat them,,but Brodge-ball is a different kettle of fish, hard to beat, efficient, yet devastating at times. Devastation is usually a bad thing, but when it comes to our opponents, their support and all that club stands for, I’ll make an exception.

Huns?
FSR?
FFS?
you have to be kidding?

===
If you examine FSR in detail it is UEFA who set the rules the SFA, who conduct Licencing decisions, must abide by.

UEFA’s future depends on adherence which is probably why they added an additional monitoring of the SFA decision in FSR.

Lesson learned from evidence presented by Celtic shareholders.

Your brother should be proud of the part he played.

The new regulations on financial sustainability are so new that they aren’t even being enforced in full yet; they are being introduced over a three year period. And while it is true that UEFA have allowed member associations to decide whether or not to enforce them domestically, that comes with a kicker.

Any clubs which want to compete in Europe have to adhere to UEFA regulations, regardless of domestic application.

As we have seen, they are already having an effect. Big name clubs in various countries are having to adjust their spending to suit. So to say it isn’t working and never will is incorrect. In fact I’d go as far as to suggest that the regulations are so watertight that the clubs who have easily navigated similar attempts in the past are really struggling-not only because they are constrained in the transfer market, but because they already have the millstone of huge player contracts handed out in easier times. And that includes the Huns who had to offload as many of their big earners as possible in the summer.

sounds good.
I remember David Murray and Bank of Scotland swearing on their mothers life’s that all financial transactions dating back to the 20th century were all good and above board until the 2008 bank collapse of course. Subsequently, being a barefaced lying cunt was just a trivial offense

Please do Mags. I know he was disappointed that our efforts did not bring about football justice in respect of Rangers, he was not alone, but for me an objective was SFA reform and whilst there was no domestic appetite for it, Celtic did pursue it via UEFA, who knew from 2012 when made aware of Rangers use of ebts by Celtic, that change to protect football from its own self interest was required.
Celtic acknowledged your brothers remarkable efforts in their Xmas message of 2022 so tell him that in my eyes he didnae get dressed up fur nuthin.

Leggy enjoy.

Was in the company of some South African guys tonight.

They normally drink in EK, Montford? Fav barmaid Katie?

Now, I don’t know EK but these guys were great company.

They were going to St Lukes to see some group called ‘The Men They Couldn’t Hang‘.

Apparently, they’ve been going for 40 years. Which is nice.

Never heard of them, which is not a crime but, talking of crimes, they have brought out the big gun, OFFICIALS, for tomorrow. As I stated earlier in the week, if they don’t win this then they are finished.

Can’t see that being allowed 😡

Hopefully, I’m mega wrong.

With all the talk of multi-million pound contracts, Gerry Andrew’s photographs of Limerick Milk Market in the 1970s illustrates what Celtic are.

Ireland was ravaged for centuries by The Oppressor. Forgiven but not forgotten by many.

The weather beaten faces of the adults and the eyes of the children here say it all.

Today and every game. Celtic play for our own.

You have to hand it to the EU — within 5 years the bold Bob G thought they were in a gold rush.

50 years of having your own door key but not knowing how to open the door.
No wonder the queues to leave just got longer and longer.

And when you got inside all you could build was a tax shelter.
Stealing the bread out of the mouths of hungry American children.
I wonder if anyone is photographing their plight in black and white?

Salvation comes in the form of another supra-national institution — God must swim in irony — who brings modernity and openness to famously closed and insular population — where the population traffic has always been one way or the skies darken as the rage of the forgotten fills the air. And many were forgotten and even more wished to forget.

The club was built in the East End of Glasgow.
We all have stories why we came and what we have become.
A club with a history but without a people — we are open to all.

Let them be the people — we are bigger and better than that.
Republican spreadsheets — learn something new every day.

An apology would go a long way.

Gerry Andrews’ images paint a stark picture of what happened here.

I won’t mention the City, Channel Islands, Gibraltar or the Isle of Man.

Ireland’s youth may have forgiven but they haven’t forgotten.

Celtic will continue to flourish…

Poverty porn is never a good look — I wonder how many photos were not taken because they looked too well fed / too well heeled?

Did the author ever take a selfie to see how he / she fitted into the subject matter?

Tax evasion / tax avoidance / tax gymnastics — there is a lot of it about.
Just a case that very few claim the moral high ground with such enthusiasm.

1922 till 1973 — the situation in the 26 counties got worse.
And this time it was their own who was holding them down.

New power dynamics to control and dominate those the local establishment did not think were worthy of sympathy / support / salvation.
