Vacant position needs filling!
Sack The Kitman!
An important game on a Saturday night and he only went and forgot the scoring boots for the whole team!
It was one hell of a game to watch with a little bit of everything thrown in, an action packed spectacle to behold, for better and for worse.
Opening at a frantic pace, being paused, re-opening at a frantic pace, after Celtic scored the opener the first 13 minutes alone was worth the admission money, and now the early goal was achieved, now the Bhoys were clearly in attack mode, the game had statement victory written all over it. There was a statement made alright, but not the expected one. What transpired was as infuriating as it was mesmerizing.
We walked off at halftime drawing, leaving many thousands in disbelief.
A team that had stupendous amounts of possession. carved opening after opening, played and passed their best in weeks maybe months,,,heard a smattering of boo’s heading down the tunnel.
Whilst that might sound harsh, it only occurred because there’s no noise invented yet for ‘what the actual f#$k is going on here?’
By the 60th minute I was thinking to myself I’m glad MacInnes walked away from R2ngers because his tactics can cause us real problems and with a better standard of player he could have our number. They had man-marked Engles out of the game, Reo generally had two quickly around him, and after they pushed up the field around 35 minutes they were a thorn in our side. But not the main thorn.
As for their equalizer I’ll return to an old footballing cliche,,you can tell by the players (collective) reaction. Our players seen the handball, and instinctively stopped and raised hands as a unit. They were fully convinced, wholeheartedly, no argument.
Two weeks ago Ange was the victim of the same situation, I wrote about it. The Aussie wasn’t impressed, now we all know how he felt.
Incredibly a handball in the box is allowed in certain circumstances, phase of play etc.
The clear problem is that players (ours on Saturday) instinct kicks in, and they see a handball and automatically envisage a free kick, because it’s been that way from time immortal, until this season. Some things get done away with and the players can consciously change their game and mentality, things like the keeper picking up a backpass or two footed tackles,,easy enough to phase out. Having players ignore handball is a completely different kettle of fish. It goes against their nature, all they’ve learnt and experienced. It’s a ridiculous rule that needs scrapped ASAP!
When the subs rocked up I thought here we go, these bhoys will fix this. Incredibly, the same ‘disease’ infected them upon entering the field of play, typified by an Adam lead 4 on 2 attack fizzling out.
Murphys Law said ‘can’t miss ‘em all’ and sure enough on the 70th minute Daizen stuck away the winner.
We held on, we progress.
But my goodness,,,,
I don’t think I shall ever witness such a game again.
On another day it would have been 7-0, and that would have flattered the opposition. I firmly believe I’ll never again see any Celtic team squander chance after chance after chance after chance,,I could go on.
It was ridiculous verging on laughable. From good to bad, over and over again. Good play and build-up, bad finishing to say the least.
It was our season in a nutshell, ultimately emerge on top but showing a big flaw.
With all that in mind, the fact we created soo many chances is a real positive, I thought we were excellent at times, crisp and zippy, really dangerous. Young Boys may laugh, but Celtic actually played well which is a bonus heading into Wednesday, as is staying in the Cup. It was only an off-day upfront, of epic proportions which won’t be repeated, couldn’t be repeated. It came in The Scottish Cup not in Europe or the SPL, but we won.
Where’s Harry Kewell, we miss him.
Call Harry Potter too, we need a potion to cancel that spell that infected us.
I called for Reo, I was granted my wish and watched him closely. He should have had a goal and an assist, pulled out a few lovely passes and justified his selection in these eyes.
Kuhn and Kyogo should have bagged a hat-trick each, but it was telling that Brendan turned to Liam to make the left back area more secure. Greg was fine on the day, very attack natured, if anything AJ was quiet.
Kudos to both ‘Keepers for some excellent saves.
But Brendan, from all of us to you, can you please hire a striking coach, because we’ve all lost our voice after yelling “PUT IT IN THE BLOODY NET MAN!” for 90 plus minutes.

Modernity.
Green Brigade, Onion Bears and all the other ultra groups.
I genuinely feel sorry for the young generations of today.
Government you see.
Control.
All for our own good, our own safety , our own benefit
We were all young once, don’t forget.
Heaven knows I disagree with their student union politics, and their woke, world view.
So what though?
It’s no big deal.
Let them try to enjoy themselves the best they can in today’s sterile, soulless environment.
The songs.
One minor complaint – I wish the Green Brigade would sing more old, traditional Celtic songs.
Can’t abide those Euro/ultra choons!!

Eagles 6 Rams 7.
Having just watched 2 EPL games, then the NFL game, it is immediately obvious the vastly superior NFL quality in clarity, camera work, different angles, playbacks, cameras in motion overhead and field-side. As for Celtic TV, the jerky images we get over here are of Keystone Kops quality, by comparison.
The downside with the NFL is dealing with the maddening advert breaks.
This is not to say that EPL coverage is poor. It is not, especially if you were brought up on black and white Scotsport with Arthur Montford. The Scotsport nadir was coverage of Celtic protecting a 3-0 lead over MTK Budapest, and for 90 minutes, their single camera was focused on a trackside puddle, as Celtic lost 4-0!
Eagles 12 Rams 7
Why is it always the Green Brigade that get it in the neck, and nobody ever mentionsThe BHOYS, who sing just as many Rebs if not more than the Green Brigade.

I think either team might struggle to beat the Washington team, who are absolutely flying. They have reached the Conference Final for the first time in 33 years. It is astonishing how a change in ownership, with a hands off attitude, a new coach, and a rookie quarterback who is completely unfazed by anything, has transformed a team of perpetual losers to potential Superbowl winners.

Hi Bobby:
Haven’t heard that one. I’m talking about the MTK game on 29 April 1964. Cup Winners Cup semi final, second leg. Are you saying we were sabotaged? ( Like BBC losing the 7-1 tape? )

Iniquitous IV😊
ATOB, I have no idea!
The GB don’t control the stadium, they are there to try and create a bit of atmosphere, that’s all, and they are asking for a little help.
So can I ask you, why was that so bad?
Billy, is that the same as Neil Lennon brought it on himself, because of his stubborn fenian way.

Probably about 1973.
Hundreds of years of attempted genocide, murder, theft of land, deliberate starvation resulting in millions of deaths, religious and civil persecution yet there are some who are more concerned a few members of the Irish diaspora upset the locals by singing Irish songs of resistance during a game of football in England.🤔
PS. As has been mentioned on numerous occasions if you don’t like the song book of the GB or Bhoys Celtic then stop moaning and start singing songs of your choice and drown them out. Simples really😏

1972. We had beaten them the previous season but got hammered in this one.
As usual Celtic Wiki has the answer.

PMN,
I think the majority of the crowd are happy to help them if they are singing songs they want join in with. Having been going to games since their inception in 2006 till now I feel that most of the support don’t want to sing IRA songs at the games. As Billy bhoy alludes what is the relevance of get the troops out now to Celtic in 2025. There are plenty of songs more relevant to our clubs history that people want to join in with. Again as Billy bhoy states 67 with the phones on. That’s not happening as much now. It seems to me the GB come with a song sheet and they sing that in the order they want despite what is going on in the game. When the team needs a lift and the crowd should provide it can you tell me how SAM missiles is going to help?

*SENTINEL CELTS PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2024-25*
*RESULTS FROM GAME #34 CELTIC KILMARNOCK ()*
Good evening, friends.
So, the good guys progress to the 5th round in a game where we had loads of opportunities to win convincingly but ultimately were glad to hear the final whistle.
Kilmarnock kicked off but after only 20 seconds Celtic had a great chance as Kuhn was sent clear through the middle. A slightly heavy touch resulted in a clash with Robbie McCrorie which saw the Kilmarnock keeper having to be replaced after a lengthy stoppage. Absolutely no blame on Kuhn’s part but a nasty collision all the same.
The frantic start continued and in the 7th minute Kilmarnock won a free kick on the edge of Celtic’s box. Murray’s excellent free kick was met with a fingertip save by Kasper onto the bar. The rebound came crashing back and Celtic broke quickly, Kuhn playing in Maeda and Daisen should have done better than just hit straight at O’Hara, Kilmarnock’s replacement keeper.
But a few minutes later and the breakthrough came. Captain Calum – who had started very well – engineered some space and drove towards the Kilmarnock box. McGregor composed himself and then fired a fine left foot shot low into the keeper’s left hand corner to give Celtic a well deserved lead.
The next half hour saw several good chances fall to Kyogo, Hatate and Kuhn but in first half stoppage time it was Kilmarnock who got the next goal. Johnston could perhaps have done better to stop the delivery into the box but nevertheless we went into the break all square.
An unwelcome feature of the first half (which continued after the break) was some very uncharacteristic poor distributions from Schmeichel. Fortunately, none of these were punished but it was very unlike our best ever goalkeeper.
Around the hour mark I had the feeling that Celtic were beginning to turn the screw, fighting more for possession and increasing the pressure around the Killie box. And in the 69th minute Celtic regained the lead. Good work from Kuhn coming inside from the right and then feeding a fine pass to Maeda who, this time, made no mistake. And just 2 minutes later we nearly socred again. Twice! Kuhn’s fine strike rebounded off the bar out of the area to Hatate who fired a fine strike on the half volley which O’Hara tipped round the post.
Kilmarnock remained threatening but in the 87th minute were caught on the break with Idah rampaging from the edge of our own box. Celtic were 4 on 1 on this breakaway and when Idah fed Kuhn, a goal looked certain. However the Kille goalkeeper deflected Nicolas’s effort behind and was promptly awarded a goal kick for his efforts!
3 minutes later, Maeda had the ball in the net but was correctly flagged for offside.
In the end a 2-1 victory and a bit more positive from Celtic which will hopefully increase the confidence going into our next game.
We have now played 34 games this season, winning 25, drawing 7 and losing 2. We have scored 93 and conceded 28 (domestically it’s 83-18 and in Europe it’s 10-10). Thank you so much to the 78 who voted this time around. The total votes cast for each player are as follows, with my own nominations asterisked.

Engels: 5
Hatate: 30

Our next game sees us return to the Champions League for arguably our most significant game of the season. The rewards for success are clear but we really do need to be on our game for this one. It’s Celtic v Young Boys on Wednesday evening with an 8.00pm kick off.
Hail Hail!
JOBO
Thanks, mate. A very good turnout, especially since not too many subscribe to Premier.
Jobo
Kyogo mentioned twice mate. 19 and 24 points.
ATOB, I believe it’s a two-way street.
As someone else stated on here, it could refer to the Palestinian cause.
And what has Grace got to do with celtic? I would counter. Good tune mind.
The last game I was at, the GB tried to start COYBIG, and it fell flat on its arse.
So, in saying that, they might just want to sing the tunes that they like.
There are some very good songs. Am I a fan of Sam missiles? Not really. But “Rock on Rockall” is a cracking tune
I was at the huns game where they also brought out thevPyro’s, and I thought it was a fantastic display 👏
I think without the GB, I’m not sure if “In the streets of Lisbon” would even be in our songbook.
Song and music, stories, and jokes are what makes us us.
I will leave you with a Frankie Boyle line.
Sectarianism is a made-up word for anti Irish/ Catholic discrimination that makes it look like it’s a two-sided problem.
*Clarification*
On the total points, Kyogo is on 24, not 19. Apologies for the original error where the wee man appeared twice!
Eagles 13 Rams 13.
Anyway forget about Aston Villa I think that’s going to be a fucking. Concentrate on Young Boys. If we manage to survive to the knockout stage I suggest Bobby and Mahe invite the Gombeen oan here to explain in xcel provided detail how to limit our expectations
Mags, it’s not easy to buy players in this window, you need to remember that.
Unless of course you are Ange and you bring in 3 on the first day, when PL was still washing his drive.
YB will give us a game and I’m not confident at all.
Aff oot to shovel snow before dark.

Im going to stick my neck out a bit here and guess that Schmeichel is going to feature prominently in your next few updates. I know. Spooky action at a distance. Go figure.
Back in to warm up.
Eagles 16 Rams 15. If you’re watching this game, I’m just down the road, so that’s what I’m experiencing right now.

When you see the brutal collisions NFL players routinely receive on frozen Astraturf and even with all the padding, it is extraordinary how quickly they get to their feet. I’m not sure of the rules, but I think there may be a timeout penalty if they stay down.
Tremendous breakaway touchdown run by Eagles. 78 yards! Just Incredible!
28-15.

You won’t believe me but the very first NFL game I ever saw as a spectator was Eagles vs Rams in Philly in 1988. I believe that stadium was demolished. American football was total shite then and still is. I’m a bit further down the road from you and it’s still 4c here
Yeah Bobby
kind of agree with 16 roads here but you know best 😜
MAGS
I don’t watch it often, but it can be gripping, like tonights game.
The Ravens -Bills game in 40 minutes should be dramatic as well, and the weather will be worse than Philly!
Rams score. Eagles 28-22. Philly might regret missing 2 extra points.
MAGS,16 ROADS
Maybe so,but I can hardly watch/read you two crossing swords every week then ask everyone else to lay off politics.
Bobby
why are my comments about Tierney being a cripple because we crippled him being considered political?
Rams will get ball back with 2 and a half minutes to go and a real chance to win.
MAGS
The word ‘cripple’ is very politically incorrect in the US, and is universally considered offensive.
You must know that, surely.
Rams incredible catch on 21 yard line.
Rams with 80 seconds to win.
