Cool, Cam, And Collected
Morning,all.
I won’t trouble you with an in-depth review of the match, as MAHE covered it in yesterday’s article and we have widely dissected the game since on the site. Especially in JOBO’s review accompanying the POTY ratings. But to have so much possession in the first half and still be hanging on grimly for a half time bollocking and pep talk tells you much of where it went wrong for us.
To go ahead with only three minutes remaining yet still concede the equaliser TWENTYONE SECONDS later tells you a lot of the rest of it.
For all the fact that few of us can think of a single player of theirs who would be an addition to our squad, they still managed to cut through us at will. For all the fact that we would much rather have our manager than theirs, he still spotted that we would be weak on our left by playing Taylor as an auxiliary midfielder, and that the long ball every time could cause us problems.
Shades of the 2002 Scottish Cup Final, in that respect.
How many second balls did we win, how many did they win? They countered fast and in numbers, we fannied about at the back and let them reset. In fact, and I allude to this in the headline, we could have been dead and buried from those very failures just after the restart. And at 2-0 down, how many of us would have bet on a recovery from there? For me, it was a pivotal point in the match.
Buggering about near the edge of their area, we switched the ball back to Taylor, who failed to control it and ended up on the floor. They broke in numbers with Bahrami shaping for the cutback for their second. At that time they had a four on one break, and that goal looked inevitable. Cam had no room for error, knew he couldn’t concede a penalty and knew he couldn’t allow the cutback either. And knew too that he was on his own!
He coolly made the interception, and a huge sigh of relief went up from every one of our fans, no matter where they were watching. We knew the significance of that moment, and so too did the players. Within a matter of minutes, we went from a goal down to being a goal up, and suddenly the game looked there for the taking.
But enough already about Sunday itself. It was if anything indicative of too many performances recently, where as we have often mentioned, the result came about because we got it right in one half rather than in both. It’s a trend which is becoming a habit, and certainly not a pleasant one. It is one that we have to break.
Certainly it is just peachy to have players out there who can overcome otherwise poor performances with a few flashes of excellence, but that is rarely enough in an individual sport never mind a team sport like football. Certainly it is just peachy to have a man in goal who might already be my favourite of all time. And certainly it is just peachy to have a top manager at the helm.
But when that manager is leaving us open in the same manner, game after game, when he is having to write his half time bollocking in advance, when he still can’t see past having CalMac and Hatate along with one other as his starting mids, despite their clear poor current form?
Every manager needs a system, we know that. But 100% rigidity to any system when it clearly needs tweaking at times is not a clear pathway to success. Ask Big Jock about Dukla Prague in 1967 as an example, where he knew what was required to get us through to Lisbon. It was against everything he believed football to be about, but he explained to the players what was required and they went out and did the necessary.
Pragmatism is not a sign of weakness. Nor is it an admission that your system is a failure and is unworkable in practice. It is a sign that as a manager you recognise that it will not be enough against a particular opposition on the day, that your squad is big enough to cope with a new face on occasion, and with players that are more than up to the job.
We face Sunday’s opposition in their own midden in sixteen days. We have three winnable games before then. It would be an excellent use of our only free midweek before February if BR had the players trying a couple of new ideas in training. It would be an excellent use of the midweek if we could actually perform in all six halves of those matches, and obviously again at Ibrox.
It would be an excellent use of Sunday, in fact, if we showed that we actually learned anything from it.

*SENTINEL CELTS PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2024-25*
*RESULTS FROM GAME #25 CELTIC 3 SEVCO 3 (TAYLOR, MAEDA, KUHN)*
*CELTIC WIN 5-4 ON PENALTIES (IDAH, McGREGOR, ENGELS, HATATE, MAEDA)
Good evening, friends.
Our consistency of performance cannot be denied – half a dozen games where we fail to play as well as we can and yet still nobody can beat us!
The first half yesterday was between 2 teams who were both poor in possession and bereft of any real quality plays. As the game trundled towards half time, a particularly sloppy cross field pass from Taylor saw 3 Sevco attackers bearing down on goal. Kasper did well to save the first shot but his parry led to an easy tap in for the opening goal. Half time, a goal down and vast improvements required.
The second half started in a similar vein and on 51 minutes it really should have been game over as a Sevco breakaway saw 4 blue shirts and just Carter-Vickers as our sole defender. The block by Carter felt as if it could be a game changer and so it proved. Just 4 minutes later a corner from Celtic was cleared to the edge of the box where Taylor (aye, him!) fired it towards goal. A fortunate deflection saw the ball nestle in our opponents net and it was game on.
Celtic started to get a bit of belief and on 59 minutes the good guys took the lead. Daizen put pressure on the Sevco defender and whilst rotating 360 degrees he brought the ball out of the air, controlled it with his right, shifted to the side and finished with his left. A brilliant goal!
Celtic were more in control now and made several forays down our right hand side but without really troubling Butland. On 73 minutes a fine strike at the other end saw Schmeichel pull off a world class save to turn the ball round the post. But from the resultant corner the blue meanies got their equaliser.
With only 5 minutes left of the 90 Celtic produced the best move of the game featuring Kuhn, Ralston and Engels down the right hand side. Arne’s perfect cut back saw Nicolas with a fine finish. Could Celtic hold out this time? That answer came far too quickly as 20-odd seconds after the restart R2ngers had made it 3-3 and so extra time was required.
There were no real clear chances made during the extra half hour although Celtic did finish fitter and stronger but couldn’t take advantage of their tiring opponents. And so, it was a penalty shoot out to determine the outcome.
Sevco took their first and Taveneir, Hagi and Danilo all scored with Idah, McGregor and Engels doing the same for Celtic. Yilmaz was 4th penalty taker for them and Big Kaspar pulled off a fine save, down to his left to give Celtic the advantage. Hatate made no mistake and Celtic lead 4-3 with one penalty remaining. Sevco’s 5th penalty taker was their goalkeeper, Butland and arguably his was the best hit penalty of the lot. In my own head I had already thought about who our 5 takers would be. I got the first 4 correct but expected James Forest to take the last and so I was slightly nervous (understatement!) when Daizen walked forward. Not the cleanest of contacts with the ball but Butland went the wrong way and the Celtic end (and my own living room) went wild with delight.
These really are special times.
We have now played 25 games this season, winning 19, drawing 5 and losing just the 1. We have scored 71 and conceded 20 (domestically it’s 61-10 and in Europe it’s 10-10).
Thanks as always to the 74 who voted this time around. The total votes cast are 1 short of what you’d expect as someone asked to share their 3rd choice between 2 players. I don’t do half votes!
The total votes cast for each player are as follows, with my own nominations asterisked.
Schmeichel*: 60
Johnston: 0
Carter-Vickers*: 34
Trusty: 0
Taylor: 1

Our next game sees us return to league action with a visit to Tannadice to face Dundee United. The game is on Sunday 22nd December with a High Noon kick off.
Hail Hail!
Hindsight upon a tactical approach taken by Rodgers, is always easier to assess after the actual game?
Beforehand, there is always going to be team selection, and the main question was who is best suited for the LB position between Taylor and valle?
It was of no surprise that Taylor got the nod, even if it wouldn’t have been my personal choice.
No longer do I believe Taylor in the inverted role works well with trying to play out from the back, especially as it can increase pressure with the high press, and leaving the lefthand side to exposed, if possession breaks down?
Everyone was hoping AJ would be fit enough to start?
But is that the right decision when clearly AJ wasn’t fully fit for such a high profile match?
Tactically thought Rodgers was badly caught out, with trying to keep possession, and hoping to run the legs out of the scum?
In theory, that sounds fine, and was expecting ourselves to apply the theory?
But our passing was so bad and kept passing into traps, that allowed the scum to overpower us on far too many occasions, with our players isolated?
In turn our tempo in play couldn’t be applied and allowing the scum to reset far too easily?
Far better from ourselves in the second half, where Rodgers has been able to apply the reset button.
But he has also had to press the reset button on quite a few occasions lately within matches?
At least we have a squad, where these tactical tweaks can be applied for our advantage now, and Rodgers does actually apply them when required also?
Yet we somehow, managed to switch off, at crucial times, while leading and having a game looking as good as won?
We have seen the mentality is usually very strong within our team, which requires great discipline to apply within a team.
Yet, we have still had our moments already this season, where it has been very questionable, especially yesterday?
Thought when we went two one up,we would push on for the third, especially when we were in such control of the game at that stage?
But we stopped playing, and let them back into the game, and decided to go again, after they got an equaliser?
So overall, very confusing about our overall approach taken by ourselves yesterday, and wouldn’t be one I would like for ourselves to be taking on a regular basis either, especially when it doesn’t suit ourselves imo?
Need to start getting back to the higher tempo football, that has served ourselves so well to date this season, but for some unknown reasons, it’s seemingly deserting ourselves over the past few matches now imo?

?Johnno?
Are you related to the Riddler?
Sorry Chris
Just the Celtic obsessive mindset at work.
Only way I know how to stop the over thinking regarding Celtic and something that grabs my attention, is to get it out of the mindset and let it out?
Weather that’s right or not, I haven’t a clue, but seems to help all the same
Not been on since the game but I agree with those that believe we are being sussed. Don’t press us high up the park. Man mark and cut off the angles. Our centrebacks from where we build everything will dither. Wait for the inevitable bad or mid controlled pass and pounce in numbers when we are out of position. So that’s where we need to vary it.
Maeda was goal of the season for me. The more I watch it. He truly is already immortalised as one of our greatest ever hunskelpers.
Lucky White Heather ?
Get a grip lads.
Cup final, at this time of year against a rejuvenated ( Spurs result) foe and autopsy being conducted ?
If any player loses possession gaps appear behind yet Taylor gets it every game.
Agree about the high tempo though.
Morning all,
Rebus67,
All the best today and hope it’s positive news 🙏🙏🙏
KTF 💚
Steve Naive
Autopsy or observation?
Yes cup final against improved foe but consistent with our recent performances!
Critchley of Hearts who was in same coaching system as BR in past showed how allowing CCV time on ball stopped Celtics forward progress.
In every game since same tactic applied yet our coaches have made zero adjustment.
Fan,
Critchley not in a position to comment but I get your drift.
If you look at most major teams, the two centre backs take time on it to bring the opposition onto them, often one to one.
The theory being that then creates the space to pass out.
CCV good at it and can vary it with long cross field balls, the other two not so much so that when shut down they go sideways.
With the best will in the world neither AJ, Taylor not Tony are good passers therefore in trying to put Calmac on it invariably the pass/ touch can be patchy.
Further up the field things are better.
So… stick with it to get better ?
Replace with players better at that(Valle)but maybe not as robust for the SPL or abandon that for a flat back four ?
The fluidity to mix all three as games demand ( and in game) requires game state intelligence.
Coaching v thinking for themselves.
Be very interesting if we qualify and get Man City.
Too many players have been off form for months now, but continue to be selected.
Taylor , Hatate and Kyogo to name 3 .
We need to give others a run in the team or get replacements in.
SteveNaive
CCV is capable of long pass but does not seem to look forward to make one.
Also just commenting that coaches have watched the same circumstances in every game since Hearts yet no attempt at finding a solution.?
The off the ball movement has lessened as a result point being why waste energy on forward pass that isn’t coming?
Hopefully McCowan will get a deserved run in team as his skill and energy provide something different.
BMCUW
At least the realists regarding our form are now in the majority.
Now is the time to fix things — the summer was poor but we go again.
Regarding talent / potential / ability — got that in spades / we are in a good place.
Everything needs work — from total transformation in some areas to minor adjustments in others.
Anybody doing oppo research on us would notice our similarities to 19th century Sudanese religious fundamentalists …
Dad’s Army link for those of a certain vintage who remember Clive Dunn.
Physicality — we don’t have it / can’t handle it / easy way to put us off our stride.
No bayonets involved just energy and a hard streak with plenty of cheapshots.
In the SPFL — Ludge MIB are in on the act but it is the same in the CL.
Dortmund put in a few heavy tackles early doors and we struggled to respond.
CL — higher tempo / more pace / very physically demanding environment.
SPFL — targeted clugging is the order of day with Govan FC having more leeway than most.
We need to be prepared for this / have a mindset that can respond appropriately.
Another issue is squad standards / squad attitudes.
Too many just do enough to get by / get what was expected and nothing more.
Free kicks / corners / throw ins — we do as little as possible.
Penalties are / were another area — 50% conversion rate over the past few years.
That is why Sunday was such a surprise — everyone was on point.
So where was that attitude / ability in the past when we had the opportunity.
Captaincy / on field leadership is another area we fall down on.
CMcG got the role because there was no-one else available.
He has put his heart and soul into it but he is not a natural.
Bigger issue is that few have stepped up to help him / share the load.
Lack of experience is down to us — that is who we buy.
Lack of desire — see above about just doing enough.
Too many young guys into a weak / inexperienced dressing room.
Recruitment — not a well oiled machine / fighting amongst ourselves.
Hopefully things are improving because we have lots of improvements to make.
BR — I think he is being over prescriptive / we look overcoached.
The players are struggling to play the game they were told to play vs the game they see in front of them as the opposition mix things up.
Counterpoint is that we are a young / inexperienced side who need detailed instruction.
Solution — bring in some experience / some character / some nous and not just at GK.
Sunday was great — eventually.
Penalty shootout win — priceless.
Squad engagement / response — foundations to build on.
No excuses — we know the issues / we have seen the problems.
We have the resources and opportunity to fix things.
Now is the time to do it — we cannot fail from 11 points ahead.
If we do it will be catastrophic no matter the CL situation.
Just a wee reminder to those who’d have you believe things are not great!
Scottish league winners – 13 of 14 WINNERS
Scottish cup- 8 of 14 WINNERS.
Scottish league cup – 8 of 11 WINNERS
Things are better than great, they are fucking unbelievable!!
😉
BAD
Who are those?
Fan,
That’s our record from the last 39 trophies available.
29-39
Not sure how we could have bettered that.
BAD
Not Question I asked.
As you say our record is fantastic.
Question I asked is who are those who think things are not great you mention?
This mornings blog is about performance in recent games not entire season to date.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14194913/Shoppers-Rangers-violence-celtic-league-cup-final-glasgow-balaclavas.htmlP
Apologies for the DM link, but look at the headline, compared to the rags and the shite Swinney was spouting
14 year record or 11 year record — which one is it?
SLC asking why it is being short changed?
And any hun moaning about decisions they haven’t gotten, show them the video of the waist high tackle on Griff as he is just about to put the ball in the net!
Let them try and tell you that’s not a penalty!!
Of course it’s all bollox to distract from the fact they have won once in twenty matches against Brendan.
Anything to stop them facing the truth!
LIT,
Don’t ask questions, just marvel 😉
Fan,
I didn’t realise I could only post about our performances.
The reason I don’t keep posting about our performances? idgaf.
All that matters to me is who wins.
BAD
Questioning refereeing is a hun strategy for the league game in holiday period.
If the rumour of Dickinson is true then the old it evens itself out crap will be trotted out!
We should be prepared.
BAD
Again not the question I asked.
I have never told anyone what the can or cannot post.
Fan,
Then i don’t understand what you are asking, sorry
Lost in Translation
Why spoil an otherwise reasonable post with an injection of this poison?
” Recruitment — not a well oiled machine / fighting amongst ourselves.”
I say poison because it is something that you have no proof exists but is a current ploy of anyone on social media wishing to make a thought real by suggesting something often enough makes it so. Next comes has BR lost the dressing room? That is how slow poison works.
For all your attempts at normalisation you cannot hide your true nature and the only excuse you might have is you are unaware of it, which I doubt.

BMCUWPS,
Thanks for the response on Sunday.
As a mutual acquaintance used to write on these pages, “Never a Tim.”
Tá croí dubh aige. Filleann an feall ar an bhfeallaire.
CCB,
Those photographs were taken in Limerick Milk Market in the mid-70s.
Limerick is a place I know well. It’s much changed these days.
The Milk Market is located in a part of the ‘city’ which was called Irish Town. The other half of the ‘city’ was called English Town. This dates back to the Normans.
English Town was much easier to defend and prosperous.
Why is the Milk Market and Irish Town so important and due such respect?
On the 27th of August 1690, King Billy’s army of 25,000 breached the walls of Irish Town. He sent his crack Grenadiers through the breach in the walls.
Several hours of hand to hand combat ensued. During the fighting there was a massive explosion when the Irish munitions store exploded, inflicting severe casualties on Williams’ Brandenburg regiment.
Many of the women of Irish Town joined in the fighting, even throwing rocks and bottles at the heavily armed invaders.
Between 1,500 to 4,000 of King Billy’s men lost their lives in Irish Town that day. William of Orange ordered a hasty retreat.
His forces were in disarray.
King Billy left Ireland shortly after this embarrassing defeat, at the hands of the women and men of Irish Town, Limerick.
At the second siege of Limerick,1691 the Invader concentrated their efforts on English Town. This engagement led to what is known as The Broken Treaty of Limerick.
The Irish army were granted safe passage and in the main left to fight in Europe.
The indigenous population were left to suffer the rigours of the Penal Laws, evictions, starvation and emigration. The Treaty was ignored.
To this day Limerick is known as the City of the Broken Treaty.
Many of the accounts of the suffering inflicted on the Irish general population in that period are too distressing for a football blog.
It’s more than likely that some of the faces you see in those photographs are direct descendants of heroes who sent King Billy packing in August of 1690.
For all the poverty, there is a steeliness in the eyes of many of our people in those pictures.
Anytime I have the misfortune to encounter an Orange Walk. The words, “Remember Irish Town!!” Come to mind.
Those photographs also stir memories of my childhood in Glasgow. There’s a familiarity there.
Having spent approaching half my life in Ireland and having taken the time to research what actually happened. It’s remarkable how so many of us made it out alive.
The following two quotes are indicative of the tactics employed by the Invader during that period. Target the innocent, destroy the harvest, induce famine and starve them out.
Don’t forget that the people of Munster had endured the depravations of the Desmond Rebellions of 1569–1573 and 1579–1583.
Campaigns of such violence upon the Gael that there are numerous accounts written by English soldiers, who were shocked at the results of their scorched earth policies.
The following was written by English poet Edmund Spenser, who fought in the campaign. He approved the scorched earth method, and believed it as was a useful method of enforcing English ways:
“In those late wars in Munster; for notwithstanding that the same was a most rich and plentiful country, full of corn and cattle, that you would have thought they could have been able to stand long, yet ere one year and a half they were brought to such wretchedness, as that any stony heart would have rued the same. Out of every corner of the wood and glens they came creeping forth upon their hands, for their legs could not bear them; they looked Anatomies [of] death, they spoke like ghosts crying out of their graves; they did eat of the carrions, happy where they could find them, yea, and one another soon after, in so much as the very carcasses they spared not to scrape out of their graves; and if they found a plot of water-cresses or shamrocks, there they flocked as to a feast for the time, yet not able long to continue therewithal; that in a short space there were none almost left, and a most populous and plentiful country suddenly left void of man or beast.”
These are from the Nine Years War of 1594 to 1603. Mountjoy was the leader of English forces in Ulster.
Fynes Morrison, Mountjoy’s secretary, recorded that;
“No spectacle was more frequent in towns and ditches and especially in the wasted countries, than to see multitudes of these poor people dead with their mouths all coloured green by eating nettles.” 1602.
Mountjoy himself wrote of his brutal killing campaign in Ulster in 1603,
“We do now continually hunt all their woods, spoil their corn, burn their houses, and kill so many churls, as it grieveth me to think that it is necessary to do this.”
– Churl is a pejorative English word for a peasant of the low standing. In this context, Irish/Gaelic men, women and children.
Hundreds of thousands of innocents died an awful death during these periods.
There are echoes of this violence in every town I’ve visited in Ireland.
The horror of An Gorta Mór was just around the corner.
Even on a trip to St John’s, Newfoundland, around the Cathedral, in the faces and Irish brogue of Canadian/Irish survivors. That pain that’s rarely spoken about – had somehow transcended the centuries.
It had followed them.
The news yesterday that the Israeli government is to close it’s Irish Embassy in protest at Ireland’s support for the citizens of Gaza is a reminder that the suffering of the innocent is not forgotten in Ireland. Even among the political elite.
Anyway,
‘An Baile Gaelach Abú’
How many genuine chances does kyogo get in a game now. None? One? Two max on occasion?
The wee man runs most of the game. He is constantly on the move whenever we are I possession of the ball and we rarely look for him. That is every game. It has be to by design. Is his role to knackered the defence for the subs coming on?
Because I can’t believe what appears to be a fruitless exercise is persevered with.
A wee story from Sunday,
I was in Lanzarote and decided on “The Bhoys” pub, Puerto del Carmen for the game.
Great choice.
My Good lady, who hates football came with me as the weather was rubbish all day.
Singer on before the game blasting the Rebs. Magic 👍
Brilliant atmosphere during game and obviously everyone went tonto when the goals went.
After 90 minutes my nerves were shredded and then after 15 minutes I couldn’t take it anymore and left to go for a walk.
The walk was to a fancy pub with no television screens. Got a pint and waited till 120 minutes to check score. Bloody Hell, penalties.
I thought F it . I’ll go back !!!!!
Watched the penalties on Fire stick and just got back to The Bhoys when Maeda scored.
Carnage ensued with people hugging each other and sheer joy and emotion.
Anyway stayed for a few, and headed back in a taxi to our Hotel.
A few more and at dinner my wife then asked “Where’s the bag ? ”
What bag, I said !!!!!!!
“Just the bag with our money, room key and safe key with all our valuables and passports” ??????
Oops that bag, that I took out 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Well my Mrs had got friendly with a girl in The Bhoys pub and somehow luckily got her phone number.
She proceeded to call her and lo and behold our bag was still lying on the seat.
How lucky was that.
I jumped in a taxi got lost, couldn’t find The Bhoys pub, and after asking in another pub, got directions and found said item, behind the Bar.
Another taxi back to Hotel where Mrs L was not too happy.
Didn’t stop me winding up the only Hun in the Hotel, getting more drink, and finally blasting out the rebs on our Balcony.
Eventful, but what a day 💚💚💚💚💚💚
Ps
Mrs L has started talking to me today so life’s good
HH 🍀 🍀 🍀 🍀
Leggy,

Glad to you had a little luck which saved the day

For your next trick, fall into the Clyde and pocket a salmon for your Christmas dinner…
Some people just can’t cope with the facts …
Recruitment over the past 12 months — mixed bag to say the least.
Jan 24 — bit of a damp squib / limited / slow burner for the guy who did arrive.
Change this way came — people moved on / responsibilities changed.
Summer 24 — not a well oiled machine / lots of creaking noises / AP smooth it was not.
Money eventually is spent but it was no showcase for exec efficiency.
Three big money buys and a loan conversion plus some shrapnel.
SLCF — Big money buy lasts till half time and the other two are on the bench.
Consequently not a lot to show for our efforts and to me that is not good.
But if you make critical comment some suggest that you are spreading poison.
There are none so blind as those who will not see.
Grannies everywhere CSC.
Our problems are all in the midfield. Our problem is that BR still doesn’t know his best three. We have an often off form Hatate and an ageing CalMac, who needs dropping. We have the younger, fitter, more energetic trio in waiting, let’s use them.
I’m confident that things will get much better, but it’s probably gonna have to take a sore defeat for swift action.
MM
“Recruitment over the past 12 months — mixed bag to say the least.

So what you are saying is that a player on a five year contract has the six months between transfer windows to be judged as a success or a failure? Thank f..k you weren’t in charge when Larsson or Petrov,Mjallby or Boyata,Samaras or Robson were signed. To name a few.
BMCUW @ 1.20
Totally the wrong end of the stick — my complaint is about the process / the people old and new who have been involved in that process and their poor performance levels.
What they spent and what they have delivered.
Asking questions about those performance levels is now seen as spreading poison.
Don’t rock the boat / all happy clappy / trust the execs and the ex execs and the ex exec’s family — they all have it covered and there is nothing to worry about.
Well that is now what your article suggests — it says we have lots to worry about.
BMCUW @ 1.20 / Part 2
I really rate AE — huge talent but needs work.
I hope AI lives up to his fee — I think we got stiffed / potential is there but no value..
I see some potential in AT — we paid too much for him and he got spooked by the occasion on Sunday.. In contrast he has looked good in the CL so he might need more time to settle.
I really rate LMcC — fair bit of talent / loads of ambition / late bloomer.
Consequently we need a lot of work in Jan to improve the squad.
Interesting leftfield option is Johnny Kenny coming back from loan.
Two years younger than AI with some good performances recently.
Worth sometime in the squad to push the other 2 CF’s.
BMCUW @ Part 3
Regarding NK — I supported him last season when many on here were spitting tacks about his initial efforts with us.
I highlighted his talent and mentioned his poor conditioning and the possibility of injury.
History now tells us that he had dental issues and it took the club 3 months to fix them while he lost 5kg in weight and a lot of confidence.
Not a good look for the club or the coaching staff or our transfer prep.

I’m not ignoring opinion that have factual evidence I’m addressing the part in your post that has none.
Does this suggest poor harmony amongst players.

I’ve been using social .media for years and know how it can spread true ideas and false ones.
When I see false ones I respond to try and kill the seed taking root like a weed that spreads.
Nothing personal but your posts lose credibility when you make statements like the one I picked up on.

January window:-
Kuhn-success.
Idah (loan)-success
Summer window:-
Trusty-success.
Idah-success.
McCowan-success.
Engels-drop in form but POTY confirms success.
Bernardo:-success.
Thats a very high bar you’ve set if you don’t think our 2024 signings have been successful.
Just ignore the troll, he’s on borrowed time.
Tic talk.
Tic tok.

Not sure I would call Idah’s expensive permanent signing a success to date.
Engels I believe will come good but so far a mixed bag.
McCowan has been great despite getting limited time.
Bernardo like McCowan.
Trusty again mixed bag.
Schmeichel our best signing!

I’m hoping that Engles will physically grow in the same way Ryan Christie bulked up after a spell at Aberdeen and announced his maturity with a stunning goal and performance against Hearts (from memory)

Engels has the ability.
Just now he is suffering from youthful self doubt.
One strong performance to erase such should see him soar!

I fear you are just trying to score points for your own ego.
You are going against your own arguments and your own article.
We are not playing well at the moment with more poor performances than good ones.
Yet all is rosy — if the newbies are on fire then who is holding us back.
Does not compute.
Captain.
Star Trek CSC.

SLCF — we played well for 15 minutes.
Allowed an ECh level Govan FC to run it far too close.
29 seconds will be on quite a few footballing tombstones.
We have offered them hope for Jan 2nd.
NK — supported him from the off.
AE — see a huge talent / bit of work to do.
AI @ £8.5mill has not been a success.
Interested to see how Johnny Kenny fares if he comes back.
Trusty @ £6mill — You are having a laugh.
Taking time to settle but with a couple of good CL outings.
He has something but we got stiffed financially.
Sunday will hang over him for a while.
Him and CCV not complementing each other — surprise to me.
I fear that both don’t like being in charge of the ball and are passing the buck by passing the ball across the backline on the 18 yard box.
PB — Some great 30 minutes cameos off the bench.
Two good performances as a starter.
Still a lot of work to do — Dortmund game was a big step backwards.
Big talent.
LMcC — Still on the adrenaline high of signing.
Looks to have a lot to offer but I await the dip when it comes.
Many who don’t like the SPFL will give him both barrels when it does happen.
Very useful addition to the point that he could add something as a starter.
There is the performance during the game.
There is the performance after the game.
What one tells us more about the state of the squad and how well they are playing for each other?
We are not playing well as a team — 80% of the time it is very low energy / after you Claude.
In contrast 20% of the time it is all action / all hands to the pump / Musketeers a go-go.
If you have played team sports where results matter and egos are all around — you will spot the tell tale signs that things are not great.
We are still missing ML’s missus.
GT would appear to be the replacement mother hen.
Not good.

Really? How strange that we thought a return of 9 goals from 18 domestic games last season was a resounding success,to the extent that we pushed the boat out for his permanent signing, but a return of 8 in 22,including six European matches, makes him a dud.
I’m all perplexed,me. But thankfully I know you will explain everything.

Nothing I’ve said so far has contradicted my article. Nor is anything likely. I change my opinions if the facts change, not because of who I’m having a discussion with.

Sorry,I should have commented on this earlier. The rumour about Dickinson for the 2nd January match came out at the same time as the Beaton appointment for Sunday. And if it proves to be true, questions need to be asked about appointments being carved up in advance.
